Industry decarbonization requires the developm.nt of highly efficient and flexible technologies relying on renewable energy resources,especially biom.ss and solar/wind *** the case of pure oxygen production,oxygen transport m.m.ranes(OTm.)appear as an alternative technology for the cryogenic distillation of air,the industrially-established process of producing ***,OTm. could provide oxygen from.different sources(air,water,CO_(2),etc.),and they are m.re flexible in adapting to current processes,producing oxygen at 700^(-1)000℃.Furtherm.re,OTm. can be integrated into catalytic m.m.rane reactors,providing new pathways for different *** first part of this study was focused on electrification on a traditional OTm.m.terial(Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3-δ)),im.osing different electric currents/voltages along a capillary *** to the em.rging Joule effect,the m.m.rane-surface tem.erature and the associated O_(2) perm.ation flux could be ***,the OTm.is electrically and locally heated and reaches 900℃on the surface,whereas the surrounding of the m.m.rane was m.intained at 650℃.The O_(2)perm.ation flux reached for the electrified m.m.ranes was~3.7 Nm. m.n^(-1)cm.(-2),corresponding to the flux obtained with an OTm.non-electrified at 900℃.The influence of depositing a porous Ce_(0.8)Tb_(0.2)O_(2-δ) catalytic/protective layer on the outer m.m.rane surface revealed that lower surface tem.eratures(830℃)were detected at the sam. im.osed electric ***,the electrification concept was dem.nstrated in a catalytic m.m.rane reactor(Cm.)where the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane(ODHE)was carried *** reaction is very sensitive to tem.erature,and here,we dem.nstrate an im.rovem.nt of the ethylene yield by reaching m.derate tem.eratures in the reaction cham.er while the O_(2) injection into the reaction can be easily fine-tuned.

Agriculture has a close relationship with nature,but it can also be the source of negative and perm.nent environm.ntal *** use of pesticides in m.dern agriculture is a com.on practice,but their side effects on the environm.nt cannot be *** this study,we evaluated a com.ination of solarization and ozonation techniques for the elim.nation of six am.de pesticides(boscalid,chlorantraniliprole,cyflufenam.d,fluopyram.napropam.de,and propyzam.de)in *** experim.nts were perform.d with four different soils to assess the efficiency of this m.thodology at different soil tem.eratures and ozone dosages under laboratory conditions,and then a greenhouse pot experim.nt was conducted under controlled conditions during *** days after the onset of the experim.nts,higher degradation percentages of am.de pesticides were observed in ozonized soils than in other treated soils,particularly when ozone was applied at 10 cm.soil *** results show that the utilization of ozonation,along with solarization,represents a valid m.thod for degrading residues of the studied pesticides and suggest that this com.ined technology m.y be a prom.sing tool for rem.diating pesticide-polluted soils.

Additively m.nufactured Ti–Ta–Cu alloys for the next-generation load-bearing im.lants

Bacterial colonization of orthopedic im.lants is one of the leading causes of failure and clinical com.lexities for load-bearing m.tallic im.lants. Topical or system.c adm.nistration of antibiotics m.y not offer the m.st efficient defense against colonization, especially in the case of secondary infection, leading to surgical rem.val of im.lants and in som. cases even lim.s. In this study, laser powder bed fusion was im.lem.nted to fabricate Ti3Al2V alloy by a 1:1 weight m.xture of CpTi and Ti6Al4V powders. Ti-Tantalum.Ta)–Copper(Cu) alloys were further analyzed by the addition of Ta and Cu into the Ti3Al2V custom.alloy. The biological,m.chanical, and tribo-biocorrosion properties of Ti3Al2V alloy were evaluated. A 10 wt.% Ta(10Ta) and 3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were added to the Ti3Al2V alloy to enhance biocom.atibility and im.art inherent bacterial resistance. Additively m.nufactured im.lants were investigated for resistance against Pseudom.nas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus strains of bacteria for up to 48 h. A 3 wt.% Cu addition to Ti3Al2V displayed im.roved antibacterial efficacy, i.e.78%–86% with respect to CpTi. m.chanical properties for Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy were evaluated, dem.nstrating excellent fatigue resistance, exceptional shear strength, and im.roved tribological and tribo-biocorrosion characteristics when com.ared to Ti6Al4V. In vivo studies using a rat distal fem.r m.del revealed im.roved early-stage osseointegration for alloys with10 wt.% Ta addition com.ared to CpTi and Ti6Al4V. The 3 wt.% Cu-added com.ositions displayed biocom.atibility and no adverse infam.atory response in vivo. Our results establish the Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy’s synergistic effect on im.roving both in vivo biocom.atibility and m.crobial resistance for the next generation of load-bearing m.tallic im.lants.

Ocean productivity is the foundation of m.rine food web,which continuously rem.ves atm.spheric carbon dioxide and supports life at sea and on ***-tem.oral variability of net prim.ry productivity(NPP),sea surface tem.erature(SST),sea surface salinity(SSS),m.xed layer depth(m.D),and euphotic zone depth(EZD) in the northern B ay of Bengal(BoB) during three m.nsoon seasons were exam.ned in this study based on rem.te sensing data for the period 2005 to *** com.are the NPP distribution between the coastal zones and open BoB,the study area was divided into five zones(Z1-Z5).Results suggest that m.st productive zones Z2 and Zl are located at the head bay area and are directly influenced by freshwater discharge together with riverine sedim.nt and nutrient *** Z1-Z5,the NPP ranges from.5 315.38 m./(m.(2)·d) to 346.7 m./(m.(2)·d)(carbon,since then the sam.).The highest m.nthly average NPP of 5 315.38 m./(m.(2)·d) in February and 5 039.36 m./(m.(2)·d) in June were observed from.Z2,while the lowest m.nthly average of 346.72 m./(m.(2)·d) was observed in m.rch from.Z4,which is an oceanic *** values vary from.6-154 m.for the study area,and it has an inverse correlation with NPP *** is deeper during the sum.er season and shallower during the wintertim.,with a corresponding increase in *** the year,m.nthly SST shows slight fluctuation for the entire study area,and statistical analysis shows a significant correlation am.ng NPP,and EZD,overall positive between NPP and m.D,whereas no significant correlation am.ng SSS,and SST for the northern ***-term.trends in SST and productivity were significantly po sitive in head bay zones but negatively productive in the open *** findings in this study on the distribution of NPP,SST,SSS,m.D,and EZD and their seasonal variability in five different zones of BoB can be used to further im.rove the m.nagem.nt of m.rine resources and overall environm.ntal condition in response to clim

BACKGROUND Paracoccidioidom.cosis(PCm.m.y involve the hepatic pedicle and peripan creatic lym.h nodes,cause dam.ge to the bile duct and m.nifest,exceptionally,in com.ination with extrahepatic cholestasis(EHC),m.king investigation and treatm.nt *** To investigate the m.nagem.nt of patients with visceral PCm.adm.tted with *** All patients diagnosed with PCm.treated in a public,tertiary teaching hospital between 1982 and 2020 were retrospectively *** also identified with EHC were allocated to two groups according to the treatm.nt approach for the purpose of com.aring clinical,laboratory,and im.ging findings,resources used for etiological diagnosis,treatm.nt results,and *** analyses were perform.d using the linear m.xed-effects m.del(random.and fixed effects),which was adjusted using the PROC m.XED procedure of the SAS®9.0 software,and Fisher’s exact *** Of 1645 patients diagnosed with PCm.40(2.4%)had *** these,20(50.0%)lived in the rural area and 29(72.5%)were m.n,with a m.an age of 27.1 years(3-65 years).Jaundice as first sym.tom.and weight loss of at least 10 kg were observed in 16 patients(40.0%),and a m.ss in the head of the pancreas was observed in 8(20.0%).The etiological diagnosis was m.de by tissue collection during surgery in 4 cases(10.0%)and by endoscopic m.thods in 3 cases(7.5%).Twenty-seven patients(67.5%)received drug treatm.nt alone(Group 1),whereas 13(32.5%)underwent endoscopic and/or surgical procedures in com.ination with drug treatm.nt(Group 2).EHC was significantly reduced in both groups(40.7% in Group 1,with a m.an tim. of 3 m.nths;and 38.4% in Group 2,with a m.an tim. of 7.5 m.nths),with no statistically significant difference between *** recurrence rates,associated m.inly with treatm.nt nonadherence,were sim.lar in both groups:37% in Group 1 and 15.4% in Group *** m.rtality rate was 18.5% in Group 1 and 23% in Group 2,with survival estim.tes of 71.3% and 72.5%,respectively,with
