Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the second leading cause of cancer-related death *** five-year survival rate of CRC patients depends on the stage at diagnosis,being higher than 80%when CRC is diagnosed in the early stages but lower than 10%when CRC is diagnosed in advanced *** against specific CRC autoantigens(tumor-associated antigens(TAAs))in the sera of patients have been widely demonstrated to aid in early ***,we herein aim to identify autoantigens target of autoantibodies specific to CRC that possess a significant ability to discriminate between CRC patients and healthy individuals by means of liquid *** that end,we examined the protein content of the exosomes released by five CRC cell lines and tissue samples from CRC patients by means of immunoprecipitation coupled with mass spectrometry analysis.A total of 103 proteins were identified as potential autoantigens specific to *** bioinformatics and meta-analysis,we selected 15 proteins that are more likely to be actual CRC autoantigens in order to evaluate their role in CRC prognosis by Western blot(WB)and immunohistochemistry(IHC).We found dysregulation at the protein level for 11 of these proteins in both tissue and plasma exosome samples from patients,along with an association of nine of these proteins with CRC *** validation,all but one showed a statistically significant high diagnostic ability to distinguish CRC patients and individuals with premalignant lesions from healthy individuals,either by luminescence Halotag-based beads,or by a multiplexed biosensing platform involving the use of magnetic microcarriers as solid support modified with covalently immobilized Halotag fusion proteins constructed for CRC *** together,our results highlight the usefulness of the approach defined here to identify the TAAs specific to chronic diseases;they also demonstrate that the measurement of autoantibody levels in plasma against the TAAs identified here

Background::The burden of human immun.deficiency virus(HIV)infection in people who use drugs(PWUD)is *** aimed to screen HIV infection among PWUD and describe their retention in HIV ***,we also screen for hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection among HIV-seropositive PWUD and describe their linkage to ***::We conducted a prospective study in 529 PWUD who visited the"Ca?ada Real Galiana"(Madrid,Spain).The study period was from June 1,2017,to May 31,*** diagnosis was performed with a rapid antibody screening test at the point-of-care(POC)and HCV diagnosis with immunoassay and PCR tests on dried blood spot(DBS)in a central *** PWUD were referred to the *** used the Chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests,as appropriate,to compare rates between ***::Thirty-five(6.6%)participants were positive HIV antibodies,but 34 reported previous HIV diagnoses,and 27(76%)had prior antiretroviral *** patients with a positive HIV antibody test,we also found a higher prevalence of homeless(Pnd injection drug use(PWID)(Pnd more decades of drug use(P=0.002).All participants received HIV test results at the *** the 35 HIV positives,28(80%)were retained in HIV medical care at the end of the HIV screening study(2018),and only 22(62.9%)at the end of ***,12/35(34.3%)were positive for the HCV RnA *** the latter,10/12(83.3%)were contacted to deliver the HCV results test(delivery time of 19 days),5/12(41.7%)had an appointment and were attended at the hospital and started HCV therapy,and only 4/12(33.3%)cleared ***::We found almost no new HIV-infected PWUD,but their cascade of HIV care was low and remains a challenge in this population at *** high frequency of active hepatitis C in HIV-infected PWUD reflects the need for HCV screening and reinforcing the link to care.

The recent achievement of fusion ignition with laser-driven technologies at the national Ignition Facility sets a historic accomplishment in fusion energy *** accomplishment paves the way for using laser inertial fusion as a viable approach for future energy *** has a unique opportunity to empower research in this field internationally,and the scientific community is eager to engage in this *** propose establishing a European programme on inertial-fusion energy with the mission to demonstrate laser-driven ignition in the direct-drive scheme and to develop pathway technologies for the commercial fusion *** proposed roadmap is based on four complementary axes:(ⅰ)the physics of laser-plasma interaction and burning plasmas;(ⅱ)high-energy high repetition rate laser technology;(ⅲ)fusion reactor technology and materials;and(ⅳ)reinforcement of the laser fusion community by international education and training *** foresee collaboration with universities,research centres and industry and establishing joint activities with the private sector involved in laser *** project aims to stimulate a broad range of high-profile industrial developments in laser,plasma and radiation technologies along with the expected high-level socio-economic impact.
