In this study,the enhancement of catalytic activity of ceria when modified with co-catalysts such as graphitic carbon nitride and silver was establishe *** material was synthe sized using phytogenic combustion method,a green alternative to the traditional preparative *** catalyst was characterized using XRD,FTIR,SEM,EDX,XPS and TEM *** synergistic effect of the composite ceO2/g-c3 N4/Ag was tested for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol in the prese nce of sodium *** reaction was carried out at room tempe rature without any light source or exte rnal *** individual and combined effects of four parameters,viz.,concentration of 4-NP,amount of catalyst,amount of NaBH4 and time for the reduction of reduction 4-NP were investigated using Box-Behnken design of response surface methodology(RSM).This statistical model was used to optimize the reaction conditions for maximum reduction of *** optimum conditions for the reduction reaction are found to be 0.01 mmol/L 4-NP,15 mg catalyst,20 mg NaBH4 and 13.7 min time interval.

Extra virgin olive oil is characterized by its high content of unsaturated fatty acid residues in triglycerides,mainly oleic acid,and the presence of bioactive and antioxidant *** consumption is associated with lower risk of suffering chronic diseases and unwanted processes linked to aging,due to the antioxidant capacity and capability of its components to modulate cellular signaling *** of olive oil can alter the physiology of mesenchymal stem cells(MScs).This may explain part of the healthy effects of olive oil consumption,such as prevention of unwanted aging *** date,there are no specific studies on the action of olive oil on MScs,but effects of many components of such food on cell viability and differentiation have been *** objective of this article is to review existing literature on how different compounds of extra virgin olive oil,including residues of fatty acids,vitamins,squalene,triterpenes,pigments and phenols,affect MSc maintenance and differentiation,in order to provide a better understanding of the healthy effects of this ***,most studies have shown a positive effect of these compounds on *** collective findings support the hypothesis that at least part of the beneficial effects of extra virgin olive oil consumption on health may be mediated by its effects on MScs.

Biological weathering of phlogopite during enriched vermicomposting

As the dominant macrofauna in many soils,earthworms play a significant role in mineral weathering and nutrient release from mineral structures into available forms for root *** is a trioctahedral micaceous mineral that can be weathered to other minerals through release of its interlayer potassium(K).In this study,we investigated the effect of earthworm activities and associated microbial communities on phlogopite weathering during the production of phlogopite-enriched vermicompost with different quantities of phlogopite *** experiment was run under laboratory conditions using three levels of phlogopite(0,20%and 40%by weight)in *** Petri dish contained 20 g of a mixture of cow manure and phlogopite,and vermicomposting process was performed by inoculation of eight Eisenia foetida *** in clay mineralogy and c/N ratio in each dish were assessed at days 0,45,90,135,and 180 during *** results indicated that phlogopite was partially weathered to vermiculite and interstratified mica-vermiculite during the vermicomposting *** rate of weathering was higher during the early stages of vermicomposting(the first 90 d).The weathering of phlogopite was influenced considerably by the activity of earthworms and associated microbial communities during the organic matter transformation *** the early stages of the process,the weathering rate for different levels of phlogopite was not significantly different,but over time it accelerated steadily,and the difference increased.

Understanding the effects of elevation and related factors(climate,vegetation) on the physical and chemical soil properties can help to predict changes in response to future climate or afforestation *** work aims to contribute to the knowledge of soil evolution and the classification of forest soils in relation to elevation in the montane stage,with special attention to podzolization and humus *** northern flank of the Moncayo Massif(Iberian Range,SW Europe) provides a unique opportunity to study a forest soils catena within a consistent quartzitic parent material over a relatively steep elevation *** increasing elevation,pH,base saturation,exchangeable potassium,and fine silt-sized particles decrease significantly,while organic matter,the c/N ratio,soil aggregate stability,water repellency and coarse sand-sized particles increase *** soil profiles shared a set of properties in all horizons:loamy-skeletal particle-size,extreme acidity(pH-H_2Ocesses in the catena include topsoil organic matter accumulation and even podzolization,which increases with *** the upper to lower landscape positions of wooded montane stage of the Moncayo Massif,mull-moder-mor humus and an Umbrisolcambisol-Podzol soil unit sequences were found.

Specific energy consumption is an important indicatorfora better understanding of the machinability of *** present study aims to estimate the specific energy consumption for abrasive metal cutting with ultrathin discs at comparatively low and medium feed *** an experimental technique,the cutting power was measured at four predefined feed rates for S235JR,intermetallic Fe-Al(40%),and c45K with different thermal *** variation in the specific energy consumption with the material removal rate was analyzed through an empirical model,which enabled us to distinguish three phenomena of energy dissipation during material *** thermal treatment and mechanical properties of materials have a significant impact on the energy consumption pattern,its corresponding components,and cutting *** materials consume more specific cutting energy than brttle *** specific cutting energy is the minimum energy required to remove the material,and plowing energy is found to be the most significant phenomenon of energy dissipation.

In this work, we performed in situ nanoindentation in TEM to capture the real-time dislocation and twinning activities in pure Mg during loading and unloading. We demonstrated that the screw component of dislocations glides continuously, while the edge components rapidly become sessile during loading. The twin tip propagation is intermittent, whereas the twin boundary migration is more continuous. During unloading, we observed the elastic strain relaxation causes both dislocation retraction and detwinning. Moreover,we note that the plastic zone comprised of dislocations in Mg is well-defined, which contrasts with the diffused plastic zones observed in face-centered cubic metals under the nanoindentation impressions. Additionally, molecular dynamics simulations were performed to study the formation and evolution of deformation-induced crystallographic defects at the early stages of indentation. We observed that,in addition to dislocations, the I1stacking fault bounded with a c+p> Frank loop can be generated from the plastic zone ahead of the indenter, and potentially serve as a nucleation source for abundant dislocations observed experimentally. These new findings are anticipated to provide new knowledge on the deformation mechanisms of Mg, which are difficult to obtain through conventional ex situ approaches. These observations may serve as a baseline for simulation work that investigate the dynamics of dislocation slip and twinning in Mg and alloys.

Grapevine trunk diseases are a major concern to the wine-and table-grape industries worldwide,limiting both vineyard longevity and *** surveys conducted throughout the grape-growing regions of Arkansas and Missouri revealed the presence of three economically important grapevine trunk diseases including,Botryosphaeria canker,Eutypa dieback and *** studies along with multi-gene phylogenetical analyses confirmed the identification of 15 different fungal taxa associated with different vascular *** include Botryosphaeria dothidea,Diatrypella sp.,Diplodia seriata,Dothiorella americana,Eutypa lata,Eutypella vitis,Lasiodiplodia missouriana,Lasiodiplodia viticola,Neofusicoccum ribis,Neofusicoccum vitifusiforme,Pestalotiopsis sp.,Pestalotiopsis uvicola,Phaeomoniella chlamydospora,Phomopsis viticola,Schyzophyllum commune,and Togninia *** of these represent new records on grapevines in Arkansas and *** americana,*** and *** are described as new species,and both *** and *** are first reported as grapevine pathogens in North ***’s postulates confirmed the pathogenicity of all fungal species except *** in the interspecific hybrids Vignoles,chambourcin,Norton,and *** spp.,***,and *** were the most virulent fungi,while ***,*** and *** were considered to be weak *** research highlights the importance that grapevine trunk diseases have on grapevine health in growing regions where,due to different climatological conditions,interspecific hybrid cultivars are predominantly grown.

This work is a review of previous works,presenting and discussing the most important results obtained by an ongoing research program towards the development of innovative,low-cost,self-lubricating composites with a low friction coefficient and high mechanical strength and wear *** emphasis is given to uniaxial die pressing of solid lubricant particles mixed with matrix powders and to metal injection moulding associated with in situ generation of solid lubricant ***,a microstructural model/processing route (powder injection moulding followed by plasma-assisted debinding and sintering) produced a homogeneous dispersion of in situ generated solid lubricant *** nodules of graphite with diameter smaller than 20 μm were formed,constituting a nanostructured stacking of graphite foils with nanometric *** Raman analysis indicated that the graphite nodules were composed of turbostratic 2D graphite having highly misaligned graphene planes separated by large interlamellae *** interplanar distance between the graphene foils and misalignment of these foils were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy and were,probably,the origin of the outstandingly low dry friction coefficient (0.04).The effect of sintering temperature,precursor content,metallic matrix composition and surface finish is also ***,the influence of a double-pressing/double-sintering (DPDS) technique on the tribological performance of self-lubricating uniaxially die-pressed hBN + graphite-Fe-Si-c-Mo composite is also ***,the tribological behaviour of die-pressed Fe-Si-c matrix composites containing 5,7.5 and 10 wt％ solid lubricants (hBN and graphite) added during the mixing step is analysed in terms of mechanical properties and wear ***,the synergy between solid lubricant particles dispersed in a metallic matrix and fluid lubricants in a cooperative mixed lubrication regime is presented.

The Late Pleistocene littoral ridges of southern South America,especially those of the north of Argentinean Patagonia,contain remains of mollusk shells with bioerosion *** sites from marine isotope stages(2 from MIS 7,4 from MIS 5 e)and five sites from modern beaches from northern Río Negro Province,with 40 taxa(17 bivalves and 23 gastropods)were analyzed,in the area between west of Baliza San Matías and Las Grutas(41°S).Three ichnogenera were identified in deposits of MIS 7:Entobia,Gastrochaenolites(Domichnia)and Oichnus(Praedichnia)with one ichnospecies(***).Six ichnogenera were identified in deposits of MIS 5 e:Entobia,Meandropolydora,Pinaceocladichnus,Iramena,caulostrepsis and Oichnus with one ichnospecies(***).Seven ichnogenera were identified from modern beaches:Entobia,Meandropolydora,Iramena,caulostrepsis,Pinaceocladichnus,Gastrochaenolites(Domichnia)and Oichnus(Praedicnia),with two ichnospecies(*** and ***).On this basis,it is inferred that Pleistocene benthic communities were constituted from cheilostome bryzoans and polychaete annelids,together with drilling bivalves,predatory gastropods and overall warm-water species of *** these,chama iudicai was found on Plicatula gibbosa from MIS 7 and MIS 5 *** record of warm temperature species suggests a higher sea surface temperature(SST)than the present one and/or the influence of the warm southward Brazilian current affecting the waters of Golfo San Matí*** the modern beaches surveyed,there is an increase in polychaete annelids,cheilostome bryzoans,temperate-cold species and drilling bivalves,as well as sandy substrate species,which together with an increase of Gastrochaenolites and caulostrepsis,suggest a colder climate due to the greater influence of the Malvinas current during the Holocene.
