cof.ee is highly appreciated as stimulant. Brazil is the f.rst producer and second consumer in the world. f.ower evocation triggered by environmental signals is essential f.r adaptability and productivity, and despite that it is neglected and barely considered as a part of.the reproductive cycle. Aiming to review molecular mechanisms producing phenological responses observed in the f.elds, orthologs to A. thaliana cO, f.c/f.M, f.T, SOc and VRN genes were identif.ed in silico f.r c. arabica and its ancestors c. canephora and c. eugenioides. Protein structures and conserved domains, regulatory elements in promoters, and the related literature in both genera were accessed and compared. Hypotheses regarding cof.ea spp. orthologs responsiveness to light and temperature signals at the tropics are proposed. Preliminary analysis of.phenological data taken f.om early, intermediary and late c. arabica plants are included to illustrate the diversity regarding f.ower bud emission, which quite certainly is def.ned during f.ower evocation.

Particulate organic matter(POM)is an important energy source f.r aquatic consumers,understanding its origin and composition is essential f.r understanding the energetic dynamics of.aquatic *** aim of.this study was to analyze the relationship between POM and phytoplankton(isotopic values and chlorophyll concentration)and abiotic variables during dry and rainy *** was conducted in rivers and lagoons in the f.oodplain of.the Upper Paraná*** f.und a greater dif.erence in ^(δ13)c values of.POM between sampling points than between seasons,indicating that the composition of.regional sources inf.uences the composition of.POM more than dry and rainy *** addition,the concentration of.chlorophyll during the dry season was positively correlated with ^(δ13)c values during that rainy ***,we f.und a relationship between f.ctors limiting the growth of.phytoplankton and ^(δ13)c values of.POM,such as phosphate ions,indicating that variables that regulate phytoplankton growth tend to inf.uence the composition of.POM in river ***,maintaining the variables that regulate the phytoplankton community is of.f.ndamental importance f.r the composition of.POM,an important energy source in aquatic environments.

cloud computing is a very promising paradigm of.service-oriented computing. One major benef.t of.cloud computing is its elasticity, i.e., the system＇s capacity to provide and remove resources automatically at runtime. f.r that, it is essential to design and implement an ef.icient and ef.ective technique that takes f.ll advantage of.the system＇s potential f.exibility. This paper presents a non-intrusive approach that monitors the perf.rmance of.relational database management systems in a cloud inf.astructure, and automatically makes decisions to maximize the ef.iciency of.the provider＇s environment while still satisf.ing agreed upon ＂service level agreements＂（SLAs）. Our experiments conducted on Amazon＇s cloud inf.astructure, conf.rm that our technique is capable of.automatically and dynamically adjusting the system＇s allocated resources observing the SLA.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disabling disease that can af.ect 6% to 12% of.the adult population and more than a third of.people over 65 years of.age. Purpose: To assess whether a group of.people with hand osteoarthritis (hOA) who received dif.erent types of.treatment improved their f.nction af.er two years of.f.llow-up. Method: The entire sample (n = 97) underwent three f.llow-up assessments regarding anthropometric parameters of.the upper limbs and ability to perf.rm f.nctional activities. Subsequently, the sample was divided into two groups f.r the intervention periods, called the f.rst Period (n = 73) and the Second Period (n = 24);the f.rst Period kept the same protocol with orientations, and the Second Period went to an intervention with orientation strength exercises and use of.orthosis. f.ndings: In the separate analysis of.the three questions of.the DASH pain module, no dif.erences were f.und between the assessment moments f.r groups of.guidelines, treatment, or symptoms. Signif.cant ef.ects were observed f.r f.2, 162) = 3.5, p = 0.033, η2 = 0.04, and interaction f.r moments and intervention f.2, 162) = 4.3, p = 0.016, η2 = 0.05. Implications: It can be concluded that only guidance treatment does not benef.t patients with hand osteoarthritis. In contrast, guidance, exercise, and orthosis treatment can signif.cantly improve the disease.

We determined whether the inclusion of.100 g/kg dry matter of.grape pomace silage (GPS) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes f.r other traditional f.ber sources in the diet of.steers (charolais x Nellore) would improve carcass characteristics, meat quality and composition, and shelf.lif.. Twenty-f.ur animals (248 ± 19.32 kg of.initial body weight) were f.d a high concentrate diet f.r 121 days. carcass characteristics were measured, and the longissimus dorsi muscle was analyzed f.r f.tty acid (f.) prof.le and composition. The meat was sliced and stored in air-permeable packages f.r 10 days. On each sampling day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative stability, bacterial load, lipid and protein oxidation, and staining were analyzed. The experimental diets inf.uenced the pH of.cold carcasses only. The GPS group had a higher pH than the control. The GPS and GPB groups showed improved oxidant status (i.e., lower lipid peroxidation and concentrations of.reactive oxygen species were in the meat of.both groups than in control). On the f.rst day of.storage, the antioxidant enzyme glutathione S-transf.rase activity was more signif.cant in the meat of.the GPS and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial loads in the meat were attenuated by GPS inclusion;there were lower total colif.rm counts and a trend toward lower counts f.r enterobacteria in the control group. The diets altered the f. prof.le of.the meat;i.e., the GPB diet allowed f.r a more signif.cant amount of.the n-6 omegas in the meat, while the GPS diet showed a tendency f.r a more signif.cant amount of.n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) increased the amounts of.long-chain f.s. The GPS diet decreased saturated f. levels. We conclude that the dietary treatments GPS and GPB are a promising alternative to maintain meat quality standards throughout in real-world retail conditions.
