chitin powder and chitin-aerogel were prepared f.om shrimp wastes and used to uptake Y^(3+)f.om aqueous solutions and concentrate this rare earth element f.om phosphogypsum(PG).chitin aerogel displays a specif.c surf.ce area of.945 m^(2)/g,while chitin powder is 3.6 m^(2)/g,which largely inf.uences its adsorption *** the adsorption in synthetic solutions,the ef.ect of.pH on Y^(3+)removal is strong f.r chitin powder *** contrast,no big pH inf.uence was detected f.r chitin *** interactions and chelation can highlight the proposed mechanism of.Y^(3+)on chitin adsorbents f.r the powder and ***,in addition to these interactions,pore f.lling/pore dif.usion is the main mechanism of.Y^(3+)removal in the chitin *** aerogel is ef.icient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)f.om PG,a very complex *** complex chitin aerogel-Y^(3+)can be a secondary source of.rare earth elements f.r other applications.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials f.r thermometers based on the f.uorescence intensity ratio(f.R)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transf.r(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can af.ect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of.Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in f.uorescence thermometers,in the temperature range f.om 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of.the f.R parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band prof.les caused by optical reabsorption of.the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of.the relative sensitivity of.the ratio^(4)f.(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)f.(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed f.r samples doped with higher amounts of.Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

In this article, we investigate the nonrelativistic quantum motion of.a charged particle within a rotating f.ame, taking into account the Aharonov–Bohm(AB) ef.ect and a unif.rm magnetic f.eld. Our analysis entails the derivation of.the equation of.motion and the corresponding radial equation to describe the system. Solving the resulting radial equation enables us to determine the eigenvalues and eigenf.nctions, providing a clear expression f.r the energy levels. f.rthermore,our numerical analysis highlights the substantial inf.uence of.rotation on both energy levels and optical properties. Specif.cally, we evaluate the photoionization cross-section with and without the ef.ects of.rotation. To elucidate the impact of.rotation on the photoionization process of.the system, we present graphics that of.er an appealing visualization of.the intrinsic nature of.the physics involved.

Empathy allows humans and other animals to share the emotional state of.another, adopting that individual’s perspective on a given situation. This ability is f.ndamental f.r species living in groups. Helping behavior in laboratory animals has been used to study empathy. In this test, subjects are exposed to a conspecif.c that is trapped and learn to open the cage to release the other animal. However, the interpretation of.helping behavior as an emphatically motivated action is still controversial. Here we review the studies that use the helping behavioral test proposed by Ben-Ami Bartal and colleagues in 2011 to better understand motivational f.ctors f.r this behavior. In addition, we compare methodological aspects of.these studies. In conclusion, helping behavior can be driven by empathy, but other f.ctors such as the desire f.r social contact and learning components cannot be ruled out as motivators. In addition, studies f.cused on evaluating neurobiological mechanisms underlying helping behavior in laboratory rodents can help elucidate the f.ctors involved in releasing the trapped co-specif.c.

contaminants,such as polychlorinated biphenyls(PcBs),polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),heavy metals,and per and polyf.uoroalkyl substances(Pf.Ss),primarily reach the Arctic through long-range atmospheric and oceanic ***,local sources within the Arctic also contribute to the levels observed in the environment,including legacy sources and new sources that arise f.om activities associated with increasing commercial and industrial *** city of.Iqaluit in f.obisher Bay,Nunavut(canada),has seen rapid population growth and associated development during recent decades yet remains a site of.interest f.r ocean protection,where Inuit continue to harvest country *** the present study,seven dated marine sediment cores collected in Koojesse Inlet near Iqaluit,and f.om sites in inner and outer f.obisher Bay,respectively,were analyzed f.r total mercury(THg),major and trace elements,PAHs,PcBs,and *** sedimentary record in Koojesse Inlet shows a period of.Aroclor 1260-like PcB input concurrent with military site presence in the 1950e60s,f.llowed by decades of.input of.pyrogenic PAHs,averaging about ten times background ***-surf.ce sediments in Koojesse Inlet also show evidence of.transient local-source inputs of.THg and Pf.Ss,and recycling or continued slow release of.PcBs f.om legacy land-based *** in Pf.S congener composition clearly distinguish the local sources f.om long-range *** Koojesse Inlet but still in inner f.obisher Bay,9.2 km f.om Iqaluit,sediments showed evidence of.both local source(PcB)and longrange *** outer f.obisher Bay,an up-core increase in THg and Pf.Ss in sediments may be explained by ongoing inputs of.these contaminants f.om long-range *** context f.r ocean protection and country f.od harvesting in this region of.the Arctic clearly involves both local sources and long-range transport,with past human activities leaving a long legacy insof.r as levels of.persistent o

coral-like structures of.the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12),(0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04, 0.00 ≤ y ≤ 0.02) compound were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Structural investigation certif.ed the YIG cubic crystal structure f.rmation, without any secondary phase. It is shown that, the relatively large ionic radius of.the dopant cations results in an expansion of.the lattice parameter, variations in the Iona-O-Iondangle, Iona-O,Iond-O and Ionc-O bond distances and decrease in the average crystallite size. f.urier transf.rm inf.ared(f.IR) and Raman measurements are essential to testif. the single-phase f.rmation of.YIG crystal structure and are observed changes in the stretching and vibrational modes, respectively. The morphological study, energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) spectra and textural properties show corallike structures, peaks associated with Pr^(3+) and Yb^(3+) atoms and the ef.ect of.dopants on surf.ce area,diameter, and pore volume, respectively. The optical analysis f.om dif.use ref.ectance spectra witnessed an increase in the optical gap band, a decrease in Urbach energy and blue shif. in the charge transf.r,correlated with the expansion of.the unit cell due to the dopant's insertion in the YIG structure. A typical f.rrimagnetic behavior is exhibited by the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12)compound. The saturation magnetization(M_(s)), cubic anisotropy constant(K_(1)) and coercive f.eld(H_(c)) increase with the Pr^(3+)cations content, as consequence of.their magnetic nature and distribution around of.f.^(3+)ions due to the coexistence with the Yb^(3+). f.nally, f.r the f.rst time, antibacterial tests by mean of.the direct contact method were perf.rmed f.r YIG co-doped with Pr^(3+)and Yb^(3+)and it is shown that, relatively high dosages of.Pr^(3+) cations f.vored the activity against S. aureus, theref.re, a new biological property f.r YIG doped with rare earths is presented.

São Paulo State has witnessed cO_(2)storage-based investigations considering the availability of.suitable geologic structures and proximity to primary cO_(2)source sinks related to bioenergy and carbon capture and storage(BEccS)*** current study presents the hydrocarbon viability evaluations and cO_(2)storage prospects,f.cusing on the sandstone units of.the Rio Bonito *** objective is to apply petrophysical evaluations with geochemical inputs in predicting f.ture hydrocarbon(gas)production to boost cO_(2)storage within the study *** study used data f.om eleven wells with associated wireline logs(gamma ray,resistivity,density,neutron,and sonic)to predict potential hydrocarbon accumulation and f.uid mobility in the investigated *** samples(shale and carbonate)obtained f.om depths>200 m within the study location have shown bitumen *** geochemistry data of.the Rio Bonito f.rmation shale beds suggest they are potential hydrocarbon source rocks and could have contributed to the gas accumulations within the sandstone *** drilled well data,e.g.,cB-1-SP and TI-1-SP,show hydrocarbon(gas)presence based on the typical resistivity and the combined neutron-density responses at depths up to 3400 m,indicating the possibility of.other hydrocarbon members apart f.om the heavy oil(bitumen)observed f.om the near-surf.ce rocks *** the three-dimensional(3-D)model,the f.ee f.uid indicator(f.I)is more signif.cant towards the southwest and southeast of.the area with deeper depths of.occurrence,indicating portions with reasonable hydrocarbon recovery rates and good prospects f.r cO_(2)injection,circulation and permanent ***,f.ture studies based on contemporary datasets are required to establish the hydrocarbon viability f.rther,f.ster gas production events,and enhance cO_(2)storage possibilities within the region.

With the increase in antimicrobial resistance,it has become necessary to explore alternative approaches f.r combating and preventing ***-cinnamaldehyde(cNM)and Benzyl4-amino(B4AM)are bioactive compounds derived f.om chalcones but with restricted solubility in aqueous *** can enhance the solubility of.compounds and can be a promising alternative in the development of.novel antimicrobials,with reduced side ef.ects and prolonged *** objective of.this study was to evaluate the stability of.oil-in-water nanoemulsions loaded with two distinct types of.chalcones at two dif.erent dosages,to propose a stable f.rmulation with antimicrobial *** showed that nanoemulsions presented high encapsulation ef.iciency,low polydispersity index(PDI)and particle size below 200 nm,indicating that emulsif.cation was a suitable method f.r nanoemulsion *** with higher dosages exhibited signif.cant antimicrobial ef.ects when compared to f.ee chalcones and positive ***,B4AM nanoemulsions at higher dosages showed expressive activity against Salmonella minnesota,with a 420%greater inhibitory response compared to the f.ee f.rm and showing equivalence to the positive *** nanoemulsions showed excellent inhibitory activity at the highest dosage,equivalent to the positive control against *** and Staphylococcus *** greater number of.conjugated bonds in cNM increased the antimicrobial activity in comparison with B4AM,and the f.rmation of.nanometric domains enhanced the bioavailability,being a promising alternative f.r antimicrobial applications.

The study aimed to assess the clinical, laboratory, and blood gas analysis of.horses undergoing Marcha training and the ef.ects of.voluntary ingestion of.hydroelectrolytic and energy replenishers af.er exercise. Eight horses of.both genders aged between 5 and 10 years, were included in the study. The exercise consisted of.a 10-min warm-up f.llowed by 45 min uninterrupted Marcha on a f.at dirt track in the morning. Af.er exercise, the horses received one of.the f.llowing treatments: Drinking water (control group);Hydroelectrolytic and energy replenisher containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium acetate, magnesium chloride, sodium citrate, dextrose, maltodextrin, and sucrose in three dif.erent concentrations (Replenishers A, B, and c). The horses were distributed across the f.ur treatments in a 4 × 4 Latin Squares design using a Split-plot system with 48-hr intervals. clinical and laboratory evaluations were conducted at f.ur time points: T0 - 5 min bef.re exercise;T1 - up to 5 min af.er exercise;T2 - 2 hr af.er starting treatment;and T4 - 4 hr af.er beginning treatment. concentrations of.urea, creatinine, lactate, phosphorus, and ionized calcium signif.cantly changed af.er exercise. An increase in blood pH and a decrease in chloride concentrations were observed when replenishers B and c were of.ered af.er exercise. The replacements were ingested spontaneously by the animals in a volume greater than that of.the control group (water). Replacement B was the most ingested by the animals, demonstrating its greatest potential.
