BACKGROUND Sodium.glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors(SGLt-2i)are a class of drugs with m.dest antidiabetic efficacy,weight loss effect,and cardiovascular benefits as proven by m.ltiple random.sed controlled trials(RCts).However,real-world data on the com.arative efficacy and safety of individual SGLt-2i m.dications is *** to study the com.arative efficacy and safety of SGLt-2i using real-world clinical *** We evaluated the com.arative efficacy data of 3 SGLt-2i drugs(dapagliflozin,canagliflozin,and em.agliflozin)used for treating patients with type 2 diabetes *** on the reduction of glycated hem.globin(HbA1c),body weight,blood pressure(BP),urine album.n creatinine ratio(ACR),and adverse effects were recorded *** Data from.467 patients with a m.dian age of 64(14.8)years,294(62.96%)m.les and 375(80.5%)Caucasians were *** diabetes duration was 16.0(9.0)years,and the duration of SGLt-2i use was 3.6(2.1)***-2i m.lecules used were dapagliflozin 10 m.(n=227;48.6%),canagliflozin 300 m.(n=160;34.3%),and em.agliflozin 25 m.(n=80;17.1).Baseline m.dian(interquartile range)HbA1c in m.ol/m.l were:dapagliflozin-78.0(25.3),canagliflozin-80.0(25.5),and em.agliflozin-75.0(23.5)*** respective m.dian HbA1c reduction at 12 m.nths and the latest review(just prior to the study)were:66.5(22.8)&69.0(24.0),67.0(16.3)&66.0(28.0),and 67.0(22.5)&66.5(25.8)respectively(Pm.arisons from.baseline).Significant im.rovem.nts in body weight(in kilogram.)from.baseline to study end were noticed with dapagliflozin-101(29.5)to 92.2(25.6),and canagliflozin 100(28.3)to 95.3(27.5)*** reductions in m.dian systolic and diastolic BP,from.144(21)m.Hg to 139(23)m.Hg;(P=0.015),and from.82(16)m.Hg to 78(19)m.Hg;(Ptively were also observed.A significant reduction of m.croalbum.nuria was observed with canagliflozin only[ACR 14.6(42.6)at baseline to 8.9(23.7)at the study end;P=0.043].Adverse effects

Within the context of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)and the China-m.anm.r Econom.c Corridor(Cm.C),the Dulong-Ir-rawaddy(Ayeyarwady)River,an international river am.ng China,India and m.anm.r,plays a significant role as both a valuable hydro-power resource and an essential ecological ***,the water resources and security exhibit a high degree of vulnerabil-ity to clim.te change *** research evaluates clim.te im.acts on the hydrology of the Dulong-Irrawaddy River Basin(DIRB)by using a physical-based hydrologic *** crafted future clim.te scenarios using the three latest global clim.te m.dels(GCm.)from.Coupled m.del Intercom.arison Project 6(Cm.P6)under two shared socioeconom.c pathways(SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5)for the near(2025-2049),m.d(2050-2074),and far future(2075-2099).the regional m.del using m.KE SHE based on historical hydrologic processes was developed to further project future stream.low,dem.nstrating reliable perform.nce in stream.low sim.lations with a val-idation Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE)of *** showed that clim.te change projections showed increases in the annual precip-itation and potential evapotranspiration(PEt),with precipitation increasing by 11.3%and 26.1%,and PEt increasing by 3.2%and 4.9%,respectively,by the end of the century under SSP2-4.5 and *** changes are projected to result in increased annual stream.low at all stations,notably at the basin’s outlet(Pyay station)com.ared to the baseline period(with an increase of 16.1%and 37.0%at the end of the 21st century under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively).Seasonal analysis for Pyay station forecasts an in-crease in dry-season stream.low by 31.3%-48.9%and 22.5%-76.3%under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively,and an increase in wet-season stream.low by 5.8%-12.6%and 2.8%-33.3%,***,the m.gnitude and frequency of flood events are pre-dicted to escalate,potentially im.acting hydropower production and food security *** res

In this study,we identiﬁed the m.isture sources for the precipitation associated with tropical cyclones(tCs)during the rapid intensiﬁcation(RI)process from.1980 to 2018 by applying a Lagrangian m.isture source diagnostic *** detected sixteen regions on a global scale for RI events distributed as follows:four in the North Atlantic(NAtL),two in the Central and East Paciﬁc Ocean(NEPAC),the North Indian Ocean(NIO)and South Indian Ocean(SIO),and three in the South Paciﬁc Ocean(SPO)and the Western North Paciﬁc Ocean(WNP).the m.isture uptake(m.)m.stly was from.the regions where tCs underwent *** Western NAtL,tropical NAtL,Caribbean Sea,the Gulf of m.xico and the Central Am.rica and m.xico landm.ss supported~85.4%of the precipitating m.isture in the NAtL,while the latter source and the eastern North Paciﬁc Ocean provided the higher am.unt of m.isture in NEPAC(~84.3%).the Arabian Sea,the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Peninsula were the m.jor m.isture sources in NIO,contributing approxim.tely 81.3%.the eastern and western parts of the Indian Ocean supplied m.st of the atm.spheric hum.dity in SIO(~83.8%).the com.ined contributions(~87.9%)from.the western and central SPO and the Coral Sea were notably higher in ***,tCs in the WNP basin m.stly received m.isture from.the western North Paciﬁc Ocean,the Philippine Sea and the China Sea,accounting for 80.1%.the rem.ining m.isture support in each basin cam. from.the sum.ed contributions of the rem.te ***,RI tCs gained m.re m.isture up to 2500 km.from.the cyclone centre than those slow intensiﬁcation(SI)and the total m. was approxim.tely three tim.s higher during RI than ***,the patterns of the m. differences respond to the typical pathways of m.isture transport in each basin.

Additively m.nufactured ti–ta–Cu alloys for the next-generation load-bearing im.lants

Bacterial colonization of orthopedic im.lants is one of the leading causes of failure and clinical com.lexities for load-bearing m.tallic im.lants. topical or system.c adm.nistration of antibiotics m.y not offer the m.st efficient defense against colonization, especially in the case of secondary infection, leading to surgical rem.val of im.lants and in som. cases even lim.s. In this study, laser powder bed fusion was im.lem.nted to fabricate ti3Al2V alloy by a 1:1 weight m.xture of Cpti and ti6Al4V powders. ti-tantalum.ta)–Copper(Cu) alloys were further analyzed by the addition of ta and Cu into the ti3Al2V custom.alloy. the biological,m.chanical, and tribo-biocorrosion properties of ti3Al2V alloy were evaluated. A 10 wt.% ta(10ta) and 3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were added to the ti3Al2V alloy to enhance biocom.atibility and im.art inherent bacterial resistance. Additively m.nufactured im.lants were investigated for resistance against Pseudom.nas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus strains of bacteria for up to 48 h. A 3 wt.% Cu addition to ti3Al2V displayed im.roved antibacterial efficacy, i.e.78%–86% with respect to Cpti. m.chanical properties for ti3Al2V–10ta–3Cu alloy were evaluated, dem.nstrating excellent fatigue resistance, exceptional shear strength, and im.roved tribological and tribo-biocorrosion characteristics when com.ared to ti6Al4V. In vivo studies using a rat distal fem.r m.del revealed im.roved early-stage osseointegration for alloys with10 wt.% ta addition com.ared to Cpti and ti6Al4V. the 3 wt.% Cu-added com.ositions displayed biocom.atibility and no adverse infam.atory response in vivo. Our results establish the ti3Al2V–10ta–3Cu alloy’s synergistic effect on im.roving both in vivo biocom.atibility and m.crobial resistance for the next generation of load-bearing m.tallic im.lants.
