THE SWI/SNF cOMPLEXESIn plants, as well as in metazoans, the execution of devel- opmental programs and the response to environmental stimuli depend on changes in gene transcription programs that require extensive chromatin modifications of basically two types： posttranslational modification of histones and ATP-dependent reorganization of histones-DNA interac- tions. Many different nuclear machineries are necessary to carry out chromatin modifications at the appropriate time and place.

Numerous studies have shown that the nucleosome is a dynamic structure that strongly influences gene expression. Dynamism concerns different nucleosomal characteristics, including position, posttranslational modifications, and histone composition. Thus, within the nucleosome, canonical histones can be exchanged by histone variant proteins with specific functions--a process known as ‘histone replacement＇. The histone variant H2A.Z has an important function in transcription and, during the last few years, its role in plant development and immune response has become evident. compiling genetic and biochemical studies from several laboratories has revealed that plants contain a multiprotein complex, similar to the SWR1/SRcAP complex from yeast and animals, involved in H2A.Z deposition. Despite intense research in different organisms, the mechanism by which H2A.Z influences transcription is still unknown. However, recent results from Arabidopsis have shown a strong inverse correlation between H2A.Z and DNA methylation, suggesting that H2A.Z might protect genes from silencing.

To produce a highly refined microstructure,several metals or alloys have been processed via equal-channel angular pressing(EcAP).In this work,the mechanical and microstructural changes of the 5083 aluminum alloy in H11 condition after processed by two EcAP passes were *** EcAP H13 steel die with an inner angle(α)of 120°and outer curvature(β)of 20°was *** microstructural changes were associated with the loss of texture *** morphologies of the Mg2Si andα-Al(Mn,Fe)Si precipitates for the sample at the initial condition were similar to those subjected to two EcAP *** peak broadening measured by X-ray diffraction revealed an increment of both grain refinement and *** the second extrusion pass,the hardness increased by 62%compared with the initial ***,the heterogeneous hardness behavior was compatible with a highly localized dislocation *** two EcAP passes,shear parallel bands were observed to be at nearly 45°to the extrusion *** evaluation of first-order residual stress as a function of the depth of the analyzed sample displayed compressive or tensile values,depending on the measured *** the plastic deformation applied,the first and second-order residual stresses exhibited significant ***-Hall plots showed positive slopes,indicating an increment in the microstrain.

Achieving high-resolution images using dynamic atomic force microscopy(AFM)requires understanding how chemical and structural features of the surface affect image *** understanding is particularly challenging when imaging samples in *** initial step is to determine how wellcharacterized surface features interact with the AFM tip in wet ***,we use molecular dynamics simulations of a model AFM tip apex oscillating in water above self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)with different chain lengths and functional *** amplitude response of the tip is characterized across a range of vertical distances and amplitude set *** relative image contrast is quantified as the difference of the amplitude response of the tip when it is positioned directly above a SAM functional group vs positioned between two functional *** in contrast between SAMs with different lengths and functional groups are explained in terms of the vertical deflection of the SAMs due to interactions with the tip and water during dynamic *** knowledge gained from simulations of these simple model systems may ultimately be used to guide selection of imaging parameters for more complex surfaces.

The idea that studies about education for engineers should be complemented with micro-politics analysis which is presented in this article. For such, we present a framework to conceptualizing micropolitics and some elements that show how the micro- and macro-politics are overlapped in any political fact. From this premise, the micro-politics is used to lift some elements of analysis of a particular case of engineering educational process in Brazil, where several dominant behaviors are characterized as violent or repressive behaviors that do not favor the development of technical inventivity, one of fundamental characteristics of the profession. What is argued here is that these behaviors are part of the range of a dominant subjectivity that has as its goal the maintenance of professional subjectivity not to develop in students a critical subjectivity, which must be produced under teaching techniques and pedagogical approaches. To consolidate the micro-politics analysis perspective are cited several statements used in Brazilian engineering education process, which diverts attention from the real reasons for failures in the engineers＂ education. Finally, a report of physics violence inside a Brazilian public institution is cited to illustrate how the coercive institutional power operates in the production of students＇ subjectivity.

Domination is the fastest-growing field within graph theory with a profound diversity and impact in real-world applications,such as the recent breakthrough approach that identifies optimized subsets of proteins enriched with cancer-related *** its conceptual simplicity,domination is a classical NP-complete decision problem which makes analytical solutions elusive and poses difficulties to design optimization algorithms for finding a dominating set of minimum cardinality in a large ***,we derive for the first time an approximate analytical solution for the density of the minimum dominating set(MDS)by using a combination of cavity method and ultra-discretization(UD)*** derived equation allows us to compute the size of MDS by only using as an input the information of the degree distribution of a given network.

The use of consecutive feeding was applied to investigate the response of the microbial biomass to a second addition of substrates in terms of biodegradation using batch tests as a promising alternative to predict the behavior of the process. Anaerobic digestion（AD） of the slaughterhouse waste（SB） and its co-digestion with manure（M）, various crops（Vc）, and municipal solid waste were evaluated. The results were then correlated to previous findings obtained by the authors for similar mixtures in batch and semi-continuous operation modes. AD of the SB failed showing total inhibition after a second feeding. co-digestion of the SB ＋ M showed a significant improvement for all of the response variables investigated after the second feeding, while co-digestion of the SB ＋ Vc resulted in a decline in all of these response variables. Similar patterns were previously detected, during both the batch and the semi-continuous modes.
