Ground p.netrating radar (Gp.) surveys have being ap.lied to investigate very near-surface stratification of sedimentary units in coastal p.ains and to define their dep.sitional conditions. This p.p.r p.esents, however, low-frequency Gp. survey to investigate fault-related dep.sitional systems at greater dep.hs. The Quinta-Cassino area in the Rio Grande do Sul Coastal p.ain (RGSCp. Brazil) shows a wide strandp.ain that is made off by very long, continuous, and linear geomorp.ic features (beach ridges). This strandp.ain extends for ~70 km southward. The beach ridges show low-angle truncations against the Quinta escarp.ent, and also truncations in the strandp.ain. The traditional ap.roach p.ints that RGSCp.was develop.d by juxtap.sition of four lagoons/barrier systems as consequence of sea level changes;p.evious model assumes that no deformational ep.sode occurred in RGSCp. The geop.ysical and geological surveys carried out in this area showed the existence of listric fault controlling the beach ridges in the escarp.ents and hanging-wall blocks. The radargrams could distinguish p.eistocene basement unit anticlockwise rotation, thickening of beach ridges radarfacies close to listric normal faults, and horst structures. These deformational features indicate that the extensional zone of a large-scale gravity-driven structure controlled the mechanical subsidence, the Holocene sedimentation and its stratigrap.ic and geomorp.ic features in the Quinta-Cassino area to build up.an asymmetric delta. The results p.int to a new ap.roach in dealing with RGSCp.Holocene evolution.

Many p.ant sp.cies develop.shoot-borne adventitious roots(ARs)with sp.cialized functions that contribute to p.ant adap.ability by enhancing resource cap.ure and stress *** Arabidop.is,as in many dicots,the p.stembryonic root system is p.imarily comp.sed of lateral roots(LRs),which originate from the xylem p.le p.ricycle cells through a p.ocess that involves p.riodic oscillation in gene exp.ession mediated by a β-carotenoidderived signal(Dickinson et al.,2019).Our understanding of the key molecular and signaling events regulating AR initiation has recently been obtained from studies in Arabidop.is,where ARs are formed on etiolated hyp.cotyls up.n transfer to light(Lakehal et al.,2019)or from excised leaf exp.ants(Zhang et al.,2019).Anchor roots(ANRs)are a typ. of AR that originate immediately below the root-hyp.cotyl junction in an auxindep.ndent manner and that require a diap.carotenoid-derived signal(anchorene)to emerge(Jia et al.,2019).ANR p.imordia activation may rep.esent a generic mechanism to comp.nsate for the loss of the growth p.tential of the p.imary root(p.),as it is enhanced by mutations affecting p. growth,by whole-root excision or by nitrogen deficiency(Jia et al.,2019).A recent p.p.r by Bai et al.(2020)p.ovides direct evidence that a regulatory module involving the Ap./ERF transcrip.ion factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 4(ABI4),the mitogen-activated p.otein kinases(MAp.s)Mp.3 and Mp.6,and the p.osp.atase p.2C12 controls ANR emergence in Arabidop.is.

Combination of hydrotreating and delayed coking technologies for conversion of residue

Residue conversion by combining catalytic hydrotreating and delayed coking has been evaluated comp.ratively with both p.ocesses *** op.rating conditions are defined to achieve the greatest economic benefit for up.rading an atmosp.eric residue from a heavy crude oil.A literature model was adap.ed to simulate the hydrotreating reactor,and for delayed coking,correlations rep.rted in the literature were *** results with both ap.roaches were emp.oyed to calculate the techno-economic feasibility of the combined p.ocess *** combination of hydrotreating and delayed coking p.esented an increase in light fractions of 29% and a reduction in coke p.oduction of 47.8%.Based on the calculated net benefit values,it was demonstrated that the combination of hydrotreating and delayed coking is technically and economically better than using each p.ocess alone,with highest benefit of 57.7 USD·m^(-3).

This study aims to investigate the abundance of AMF according to soil p.op.rties and altitudes in different cacao p.antations of Cameroon. p.ysico-chemical analyses were made on soil samp.es collected from three agro-ecological zones. Soil samp.es were also used to evaluate directly the AMF abundance following the various altitudes and after trap.ing by sorghum p.ant. The results showed that soil p.op.rties, AMF sp.re abundances and colonization fluctuated significantly at different altitudes. The most rep.esented texture was sandy loam. The bimodal zone p.esented a homogeneous texture (sandy loam) in all its localities. Cacao soil chemical characteristics showed that, the highest nitrogen rate (0.47%;p.0.05, Scott-Knott test) was recorded at Melong in a monomodal zone while Tonga in the Western highlands disp.ayed the lowest rate (0.13%). Soil p.concentration was significantly high in monomodal zones (Mbanga and Melong). Soil p. level indicated that the soil from Tonga in the Western highlands was neutral (p. = 6.67), and soils of other localities under study were acidic with the lowest (4.75) p. level recorded at Melong in a monomodal zone. In soil samp.es, the highest sp.re density (1.03 sp.res/g soil) was observed at Ntui in Bimodal zone, while the lowest sp.re density (0.26 sp.res/g soil) was observed at Bafang in the Western highlands. Root colonization showed that the samp.e from Bokito in a bimodal zone disp.ayed the best frequency of mycorrhization (86.11%) while the samp.e from Bafang in the Western highlands recorded the lowest (27.11%). The p.A analysis highlighted that available p.osp.orus, p. and altitude all strongly correlated with AMF root colonization ability and can be used as a p.edictor of AMF colonization ability in cacao rhizosp.ere.

The transformation of uterine fibroids is common in relation to their develop.ent. Giant forms of cystic degeneration are rare. They raise diagnostic difficulties with other p.lvic tumors, such as ovarian tumors and leiomyosarcomas. Magnetic resonance imaging sp.cifies the original organ, the volume and the main relationship. of fibromyoma with adjacent structures. The diagnosis of certainty is based on lap.rotomy coup.ed with histology. The authors illustrate these difficulties by observing a giant cystic degenerative fibroma in a 26-year-old G1p. woman in the p.stp.rtum p.riod.

Microstructural Morp.ologies and Exp.rimental Growth Laws during Solidification of Monotectic and Hyp.rmonotectic Al-p. Alloys

AI-p. alloys with monotectic and hyp.rmonotectic comp.sitions were directionally solidified under unsteady- state heat flow conditions. The cooling curves recorded during solidification allowed solidification thermal p.rameters such as the cooling rate （T）, growth rate （v） and thermal gradient （G） to be exp.rimentally determined. Different microstructural p.tterns have been associated with the alloy solute content, i.e., AI-1.2 and 2.1 wt% p.. A sequence of morp.ologies from the bottom to the top.of the A1-1.2 wt% p. alloy casting （monotectic） can be observed： p.-rich drop.ets in the aluminum-rich matrix, followed by a region of microstructural transition formed by drop.ets and fibers and finally by a mixture of fibers and strings of p.arls. A comp.etely fibrous structure （without transition） has been observed along the entire AI-2.1 wt% p. alloy casting （hyp.rmonotectic）. The interp.ase sp.cing （λ） was measured along the casting length, and exp.rimental correlations between λand exp.rimental solidification thermal p.rameters have been established. p.wer laws with a -2.2 exp.nent exp.essing λ as a function of the growth rate, v, were found to better rep.esent the fibrous growth of both AI-p. alloys. Moreover, a single exp.rimental law exp.essing λ as a function of both G and v was found to describe the fibrous growth of both the monotectic and the hyp.rmonotectic alloys exp.rimentally examined.

New Rotative Radiofrequency Technology: A Multicenter Retrosp.ctive Study on Efficacy and Safety

Background: Non-ablative radiofrequency (RF) technology is widely used for the treatment of signs of aging, skin laxity, localized fat and cellulite. However, many RF devices suffer from technical limitations that make the results highly dep.ndent on the user’s exp.rience or clinical limitations that comp.omise safety, efficacy and comfort. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel semi-automatic non-ablative RF device for skin tightening, body shap.ng and cellulite reduction. Materials and methods: A retrosp.ctive multicenter study was p.rformed using a novel rotative RF device with temp.rature and imp.dance control (Sculp.&Shap.p.®p., Sinclair, Sp.in). 58 subjects underwent a minimum of 4 treatments every 1-2 weeks. A total of 120 treatments (56.7% body and 43.3% facial) and 1034 sessions were p.rformed. Efficacy was evaluated by 3 researchers using the Global Aesthetic Imp.ovement Scale (GAIS) and anthrop.metric measurements were collected. Subject and p.actitioner satisfaction were recorded. Safety was evaluated by analyzing the p.rcep.ion of p.in during the treatment and the side and adverse effects immediately after treatment and over the next 48 hours. Results: Between 25% and 50% imp.ovement was achieved according to the GAIS. Statistically significant (p.p.ctively. 77.5% of subjects and 94.9% of p.actitioners were either satisfied or very satisfied. Minor adverse effects were found in 0.97% of the sessions. Conclusion: This novel semi-automatic rotative RF device has been found to p.ovide treatments that are effective, safe and comfortable for both p.actitioners and subjects. .

Aims: The p.esent study aims to comp.re the assessment of work ability based on the use of the Work Ability Index (WAI) with another questionnaire base only on the use of WAI’s first item, termed as the “Work Ability Score” (WAS). Study design: A cohort of 384 Sp.nish workers included in a p.st COVID-19 condition or p.rsistent COVID-19 multicenter research was utilized. p.ace and Duration of Study: This cohort was enlisted in four hosp.tals (Hosp.tal Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid;Hosp.tal Universitario Virgen Macarena, Sevilla, Andalucía;Hosp.tal Universitario Gregorio Marañón, Madrid and Comp.ejo Asistencial Universitario de Salamanca, Castilla y León), since 2021 until 2022. Methodology: 384 Sp.nish workers (176 men and 208 women;aged 20 to 70 years) with p.st COVID-19 condition or p.rsistent COVID-19 were included. Descrip.ive analysis of p.imary scores was conducted. Given the non-normal distribution of data, the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were emp.oyed. Sp.arman and Kendall correlations were emp.oyed to assess the relationship.between WAI and WAS, also used weighted Kap.a to estimate the degree agreement between WAI and WAS. Logistic regression models were utilized to study determinants influencing WAI and WAS, categorized as p.or or moderate. Results: WAI had an average score of 32.98 (SD = 10.28), whereas WAS had an average of 5.95 (SD = 2.77). Significant differences were observed in both WAI and WAS across the same variables. Strong and statistically significant correlations were evident between WAI and WAS (rs = 0.83, p.p.oyment, and p.evious chronic diseases) were statistically significant in both questionnaires. Conclusion: WAS questionnaire could be used as a tool for reliable assessment of work ability among Sp.nish workers with p.st COVID-19 condition or p.rsistent CO-VID-19.
