Purpose:The purpose of this study was to identify the knowledge and attitudes of oncology nurses toward clinical trials and to provide evidence for the development of clinical trial education programs for oncology ***:The study was conducted on 142 nurses who had more than six months of nursing experience working with cancer patients at a tertiary hospital in Seoul,Korea.A structured questionnaire was used to measure the knowledge and attitudes of oncology nurses toward clinical ***:The participants scored an average of 15.03±3.52 out of 19 in terms of knowledge about clinical *** terms of attitudes toward clinical trials,the participants scored an average of 5.91±1.37 out of *** was a significant positive correlation between the knowledge and attitudes of the participants toward clinical trials(r=0.23,P=0.007).Conclusion:This study found that there was a relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of oncology nurses toward clinical *** improve the competency of oncology nurses and provide high-quality care to patients participating in clinical trials,more systematic and sustainable education is required.

Effects of the Syzygium aromaticum l. extract on antioxidation and inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase in human dermal fibroblast

Objective: To investigate cosmetic potential of Syzygium aromaticum l.(S. aromaticum l.) and to determine its antioxidant and anti-wrinkling effects. Methods: Using highperformance liquid chromatography, eugenol component was quantitated. The antioxidant activity of S. aromaticum l. was analyzed by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging and superoxide dismutase like activities. To determine cell viability, elastase and matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP-1) activity, human dermal fibroblasts(HS68) were treated with S. aromaticum l. The inhibitory effect of S. aromaticum l. on tumor necrosis factor alpha induced MMPs expression in HS68 was analyzed by realtime-PCR. Results: The eugenol content was confirmed in S. aromaticum l. S. aromaticum l. was observed to have high 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity and superoxide dismutase like activity. S. aromaticum l. had no cytotoxicity against the HS68 and dose-dependently increased elastase inhibition. Moreover, S. aromaticum l. significantly decreased MMP-1 content and inhibited gene levels of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9. Conclusions: The findings suggest that S. aromaticum l. has great potential as a cosmeceutical ingredient with antioxidant and antiwrinkling effects.

Strigolactones （Sls） constitute a new class of plant hormones which are active as germination stimulants for seeds of parasitic weeds of Striga, Orobanche, and Pelipanchi spp, in hyphal branching of arbuscular mycorrhizal （AM） fungi and as inhibitors of shoot branching. In this review, the focus is on molecular features of these Sls. The occurrence of Sls in root exudates of host plants is described. The naming protocol for Sl according to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry （IUPAC） rules and the ＇at a glance＇ method is explained. The total synthesis of some natural Sls is described with details for all eight stereoisomers of strigol. The problems encountered with assign- ing the correct structure of natural Sls are analyzed for orobanchol, alectrol, and solanacol. The structure-activity relationship of Sls as germination stimulants leads to the identification of the bioactiphore of Sls. Together with a tentative mechanism for the mode of action, a model has been derived that can be used to design and prepare active Sl analogs. This working model has been used for the preparation of a series of new Sl analogs such as Nijmegen-1, and analogs derived from simple ketones, keto enols, and saccharine. The serendipitous finding of Sl mimics which are derived from the D-ring in Sls （appropriately substituted butenolides） is reported. For Sl mimics, a mode of action is proposed as well. Recent new results support this proposal. The stability of Sls and Sl analogs towards hydrolysis is described and some details of the mechanism of hydrolysis are discussed as well. The attempted isolation of the protein receptor for germination and the current status concerning the biosynthesis of natural Sls are briefly discussed. Some non-Sls as germinating agents are mentioned. The structure-activity relationship for Sls in hyphal branching of AM fungi and in repression of shoot branching is also analyzed. background Hypoxic-ischemic brain injury （HIbI） after cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one of the most devastating neurological conditions that causing the impaired consciousness. However, there were few studies investigated the changes of brain metabolism in patients with vegetative state （VS） after post-resuscitated HIbI. This study aimed to analyze the change of overall brain metabolism and elucidated the brain area correlated with the level of consciousness （lOC） in patients with VS after post-resuscitated HIbI. Methods We consecutively enrolled 17 patients with VS after HIbI, who experienced cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Overall brain metabolism was measured by F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography （F-18 FDG PET） and we compared regional brain metabolic patterns from 17 patients with those from 15 normal controls using voxel-by-voxel based statistical parametric mapping analysis. Additionally, we correlated the lOC measured by the JFK-coma recovery scale-revised of each patient with brain metabolism by covariance analysis. Results Compared with normal controls, the patients with VS after post-resuscitated HIbI revealed significantly decreased brain metabolism in bilateral precuneus, bilateral posterior cingulate gyrus, bilateral middle frontal gyri, bilateral superior parietal gyri, bilateral middle occipital gyri, bilateral precentral gyri （PFEw correctecd 〈0.0001 ）, and increased brain metabolism in bilateral insula, bilateral cerebella, and the brainstem （PFEWcorrectecd 〈0.0001 ）. In covariance analysis, the lOC was significantly correlated with brain metabolism in bilateral fusiform and superior temporal gyri （P uncorrected 〈0.005）. Conclusions Our study demonstrated that the precuneus, the posterior cingulate area and the frontoparietal cortex, which is a component of neural correlate for consciousness, may be relevant structure for impaired consciousness in patient with VS after post-resuscitated HIbI. We propose a new framework for entity and event extraction based on generative adversarial imitation learning-an inverse reinforcement learning method using a generative adversarial network(GAN).We assume that instances and labels yield to various extents of difficulty and the gains and penalties(rewards)are expected to be *** utilize discriminators to estimate proper rewards according to the difference between the labels committed by the ground-truth(expert)and the extractor(agent).Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed framework outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

AIM: To approach the relationship between alveolar echinococcosis (AE) pathology and level of sil-2R,TNF-α and IFN-γ in sera and the significance of cytokines in development of ***: After 23 patients with AE were confirmed by ElISA and ultrasound, their sera were collected and the concentrations of sil-2R,TNF-α and IFN-γ were detected by double antibody sandwich. Twelve healthy adults served as controls. According to the status of livers of AE patients by ultrasound scanning, they were divided into 4 groups: P2,P3, P4 groups and C group (control). Average of concentrations of sil-2R, TNF-α and IFN-yin homologous group was statistically analyzed by both ANOV and Newman-Keuls, ***: The mean of sil-2R in P2 group was 97±29, P3:226±80, P4:194±23 and control group (111±30)×10^3 u/l(Pl group 0.40±0.19 μg/l(Pl group: 16±2 ng/l (Pby ANOV and Newman-Keuls, the mean concentrations of sil-2R, TNF-α and IFN-γ had a significant difference among groups. Except for P2group, the mean sil-2R between other groups of AE patients had a significant difference (Pll patients was higher than that in control group (Pbut there was no difference between AE groups (P>0.05).CONClUSION: low sil-2R level indicates an early stage of AE or stable status, per contra, a progression stage. Higher level of TNF-α might be related to the lesion of liver. The role of single IFN-γ is limited in immunological defense against AE and it can not fully block pathological progression.
