本文主要探究如何在高职院校通过阅读策略培训培养英语专业学生的阅读策略意识、指导学生综合运用阅读策略,最终帮助学生成为独立、高效的学习者。为期三学年的三轮行动研究结果表明,培训后学生的阅读策略意识没有显著变化,多数学生认为自己基本掌握所学阅读策略,但策略运用尚未达到熟练程度。研究结果表明,在高职院校开展阅读策略培训,应充分调动学生的阅读兴趣,并重视泛读活动对策略教学的积极作用。

Introduction: Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD), also known as histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, is a specific and self-limited disease;its etiology is unknown. Some causal microorganisms have been proposed. The objective of the present article is to emphasize the clinicopathological characteristics of this disease that has been associated to the Epstein-Barr virus and to compare the histological changes with other types of necrotizing lymphadenopathies. Material and Methods: We studied 32 patients of the Surgical Pathology Service with necrotizing lymphadenitis, diagnosed in the years from 2004 to 2012 to found more cases of this rare disease in our Institution. Patients were 18 women and 14 men with an average age of 37 years. Results: The lymph nodes were cervical and axillary ones, some were associated to autoimmune diseases and no cause was identified in others. One of the cases, was diagnosed as KFD, presented morphological changes characteristic of this disease, such as subcapsular lymphoid follicles, zones with cell debris, epithelioid macrophages, clear-cytoplasm histiocytes, and immunoblast-reactive lymphocytes. Immunohistochemical markers were determined, such as CD20, CD2, CD4, CD8, CD68, lysozyme, CD56, granzyme B and EBER, which demonstrated the presence of B, T lymphocytes, histiocytes and cells positive to EBER. Histological changes in KFD occurred in three stages: proliferative stage, necrotizing, and xanthomatous. It is important to identify the histological stages of the disease because a differential diagnosis must be performed in regard to lymphadenopathies with necrosis and diverse types of lymphomas. Conclusion: We present a case of necrotizing lymphadenitis (KFD) associated to the Epstein-Barr virus and in some cases it is not possible to render a specific diagnosis based on morphologic findings, alone, and a diagnosis of necrotizing lymphadenitis may be used.

Leather industry is facing new trends on production and consumption patterns due to society concerns.Circular economy is proposing a transition from the current economic model to a more sustainable one,in which waste is designed out and resources will be reused and recycled as long as possible.In this transition,Life Cycle Assessment(LCA)is an important tool to help decision-making.In the present review,39 English-written peer-reviewed papers related to LCA and leather have been found,30 of which were published in the last 6 years,meaning LCA is nowadays an important subject.Papers are presented within 4 types,focused on:1)the whole leather production process,2)a single step in the production process(e.g,new technologies for unhairing),3)waste treatment and recycling,and 4)life cycle thinking with ideas on long-term strategies for leather industries.As discussed in the literature review,leather industry has important challenges to address:increasing sustainability and transparency on the supply chain,and strengthening the beauty of leather.Taking up these challenges from a life cycle perspective will help leather industry flourish in the coming future.

AIM: To evaluate the cellular synthetic ability of cytokines involved in pro- and anti-inflammatory reactions in patients with AP.METHODS: Sixty-seven patients with AP (16 severe,51 mild) and 10 controls were included in the study.Cultures of whole blood were performed in samples obtained within the first 72 h from the onset of pain.Serum levels of interleukins (IL) 6, 8, 10, and TNF-α were measured at baseline and in the supernatant of cultures with (functional reserve) or without stimulation with phytohemaglutinin.RESULTS: Basal levels of cytokines were significantly higher in patients with severe AP. A significant increase of all pro-inflammatory cytokines vs basal levels was observed in the supernatant after 24 h of whole blood cultures in patients, but not in controls. In contrast, IL-10 increased significantly in the supernatant of cultures only in patients with mild AP. Cells showed a statistically significant functional reserve for all IL in patients with mild, but only for pro-inflammatory cytokines in patients with severe AP.CONCLUSION: A marked activation of immune system may be observed in patients with AP, being balanced between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in patients with mild but not severe AP. A reduced functional reserve for the synthesis of IL-10 may be observed in patients with severe AP, which might lead to a worst prognosis.

Mindfulness is a psychological technique based on Eastern meditative practices that was developed in the late 1970s by Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts.Initially,there was a debate over whether it should be considered a scientific technique or labelled as part of the“new wave”practices.Today,mindfulness is omnipresent in modern societies but has suffered from merchandising and banalization,which has been strongly criticized.Despite some limitations regarding methodological aspects of mindfulness research,it is considered effective for treating many physical and psychological disorders,and even it is recommended in clinical guidelines such the British National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.During the last 2500 years,mindfulness practices have moved from Northern India across most of Asia,but their mixing with Western science and culture at the end of the 20^(th)century is considered a key event in recent history.For the first time in human history,due to globalization,the wisdom of all contemplative traditions can be shared with all human beings and assessed by science.Mindfulness practices,yoga included,are giving birth to a new field of knowledge,contemplative sciences,which go beyond mindfulness and is devoted to helping humanity to reach higher levels of happiness and mental peace.
