In this p.p.r,the synthesis,structural evolution,and dielectric p.op.rties of BaTiO_(3)solid solutions codop.d with rare earth elements(Gd^(3+)and Eu^(3+))p.ep.red using the solid-state reaction method are *** p.re p.ecursor p.wders of BaCl_3,TiO_(2),Gd_(2)O_(3),and Eu_(2)O_(3)were mixed in stoichiometric p.op.rtions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxially p.essed at 250 Mp. and sintered at 1300℃in air atmosp.ere for 6 h to obtain Ba_(1-3x)Gd_(2x)Ti_(1-3x)Eu_(4x)O_(3)(x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1).X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Rietveld's refinement results reveal the crystal p.ase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)for the samp.es with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01,as well as a consistent increment in the lattice p.rameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd^(3+)and Eu^(3+)in the BaTiO_(3)structure is reached for the samp.e with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu_2TiO_(5)and monoclinic BaTi_(2)O_(5)secondary p.ases were *** Raman results show the characteristic p.aks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)around 716 cm^(-1)(LO of A1 symmetry),515 cm^(-1)(TO of A1 symmetry),and 305 cm^(-1)(B1).The maximum relative p.rmittivity measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the samp.e with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temp.rature to 105℃with resp.ct to the undop.d samp.e was *** p.nctual microanalysis for the samp.es with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains comp.sed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneously distributed in the BaTiO_(3)*** Ba/Ti ratios for samp.es with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,resp.ctively,indicating substitution at the Ti site for samp.es with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the samp.e with x=0.1.

Geochemical and mineralogical studies were p.rformed in the La p.sca(Lp.and Tesoro Altamira(TA)beach sediments,located in the Tamaulip.s state,northern Gulf of *** main aim of this study is to infer the weathering history and p.ovenance and to discriminate the tectonic environment of the beach *** sediments are comp.sed of quartz with small amounts of accessory minerals such as p.agioclase,calcite,orthoclase,microcline,and *** beach sediments are classified as fine-grained and very well sorted,however Lp.has coarse skewed and lep.okurtic sediments,whereas TA has fine-skewed and very lep.okurtic *** chemical index of weathering(CIW’)indicates intense weathering in the source *** quartz grain microtextures in the Lp.and TA are classified into mechanical,chemical,and mechanical/chemical *** features such as fractures,p.ts,p.rcussion marks,abrasion fatigue,and V-shap.d marks favor high-energy littoral,fluvial,subaqueous-marine,and aeolian *** chemical features indicate solution p.ts and crystalline overgrowth,which suggests a silica saturated marine *** mechanical/chemical features disp.ay adhering p.rticles and elongated dep.essions suggest formation in a sub-aqueous nearshore marine *** and trace elements-based p.ovenance discrimination diagrams indicate a felsic source derived from the Mesa Central(MC),Sierra Madre Oriental(SMOr)and Oaxaquia *** major and trace element concentrations imp.y a p.ssive margin setting for the northern Gulf of Mexico,which is consistent with the general geology.

Tree height (H) in a natural stand or forest p.antation is a fundamental variable in management, and the use of mathematical exp.essions that estimate H as a function of diameter at breast height (d) or variables at the stand level is a valuable sup.ort tool in forest inventories. The objective was to fit and p.op.se a generalized H-d model for p.nus montezumae and p.nus p.eudostrobus established in forest p.antations of Nuevo San Juan p.rangaricutiro, Michoacan, Mexico. Using nonlinear least squares (NLS), 10 generalized H-d models were fitted to 883 and 1226 p.irs of H-d data from p.nus montezumae and p.nus p.eudostrobus, resp.ctively. The best model was refitted with the maximum likelihood mixed effects model (MEM) ap.roach by including the site as a classification variable and a known variance structure. The Wang and Tang equation was selected as the best model with NLS;the MEM with an additive effect on two of its p.rameters and an exp.nential variance function imp.oved the fit statistics for p.nus montezumae and p.nus p.eudostrobus, resp.ctively. The model validation showed equality of means among the estimates for both sp.cies and an indep.ndent subsamp.e. The calibration of the MEM at the p.ot level was efficient and might increase the ap.licability of these results. The inclusion of dominant height in the MEM ap.roach help.d to reduce bias in the estimates and also to better exp.ain the variability among p.ots.

Background: Cardiac involvement and the consequences of inflammation induced by SARS-CoV2 infection could have catastrophic long-term consequences. Left ventricular mechanics could identify a specific pattern of myocardial fiber damage in patients infected with COVID-19. To our knowledge there are no publications referring to the global description of ventricular mechanics in patients with COVID-19. Objective: To describe left ventricular mechanics in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we included 40 hospitalized patients with confirmed diagnostic of COVID-19, from April 11, 2020, to September 6, 2020. Demographic and laboratory data, clinical and echocardiographic characteristics were collected, as well as events during hospitalization. Left ventricular deformation was analyzed and reported. Results: Subclinical dysfunction was observed in 82.5% (left ventricular longitudinal strain [LVGLS] -17.05% and global circumferential strain [GCS] -18.6%) of the patients, likewise, the mean twist and apical rotation were preserved, and even increased as part of the compensating mechanism to maintain the ejection fraction. Conclusion: In patients hospitalized with COVID-19, despite having a normal left ventricular ejection fraction, subclinical myocardial damage was found, manifested by a decrease in Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) and Global Circumferential Strain (GCS). This behavior is similar to that of cardiomyopathies in the early stage of the disease, and given the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the disease, its long-term consequences should be monitored and evaluated.
