This project proposes the numerical reproduction development of the water flow in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger 2:1 according to the CLASS C TEMA standard (for moderate operation conditions, with commercial application). With baffles in aluminum and copper tube for the cold fluid flow, the shell is in acrylic, and with thermal analysis efficiencies with regard to the presence or not of the baffles, that is to analyze the efficiency with only, the tubes and the shell and soon after the analysis with tubes and baffles. Heat exchangers are widely used equipment on an industrial and commercial scale, the application of these equipments on an industrial scale represents innovative processing solutions reflecting the processes efficiency, producing significant savings and lower cost, supporting the business success, and consequently offering opportunities, social responsibility, which are the pillars of sustainability. For the development of this work the methodology was used to calculate effectiveness, following the design parameters and contour conditions, it was analyzed the fluids behavior in the shell and the tube, through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using the software ANSYS CFX 15.0. The results were compared with Excel generated worksheets calculated using the existing equations and correlations.

BACKGROUND Paracoccidioidomycosis(PCM)may involve the hepatic pedicle and peripan creatic lymph nodes,cause damage to the bile duct and manifest,exceptionally,in combination with extrahepatic cholestasis(EHC),making investigation and treatment challenging.AIM To investigate the management of patients with visceral PCM admitted with EHC.METHODS All patients diagnosed with PCM treated in a public,tertiary teaching hospital between 1982 and 2020 were retrospectively evaluated.Those also identified with EHC were allocated to two groups according to the treatment approach for the purpose of comparing clinical,laboratory,and imaging findings,resources used for etiological diagnosis,treatment results,and prognosis.Statistical analyses were performed using the linear mixed-effects model(random and fixed effects),which was adjusted using the PROC MIXED procedure of the SAS®9.0 software,and Fisher’s exact test.RESULTS Of 1645 patients diagnosed with PCM,40(2.4%)had EHC.Of these,20(50.0%)lived in the rural area and 29(72.5%)were men,with a mean age of 27.1 years(3-65 years).Jaundice as first symptom and weight loss of at least 10 kg were observed in 16 patients(40.0%),and a mass in the head of the pancreas was observed in 8(20.0%).The etiological diagnosis was made by tissue collection during surgery in 4 cases(10.0%)and by endoscopic methods in 3 cases(7.5%).Twenty-seven patients(67.5%)received drug treatment alone(Group 1),whereas 13(32.5%)underwent endoscopic and/or surgical procedures in combination with drug treatment(Group 2).EHC was significantly reduced in both groups(40.7% in Group 1,with a mean time of 3 months;and 38.4% in Group 2,with a mean time of 7.5 months),with no statistically significant difference between them.EHC recurrence rates,associated mainly with treatment nonadherence,were similar in both groups:37% in Group 1 and 15.4% in Group 2.The mortality rate was 18.5% in Group 1 and 23% in Group 2,with survival estimates of 71.3% and 72.5%,respectively,with no statistically significant difference.CONCLUSI

The eastern side of Alta Floresta Mineral Province(AFMP)(União do Norte region)comprises an effusive/-subvolcanic phase,explosive phase,and epiclastic rocks.The effusive/subvolcanic phase comprises massive porphyritic rhyolite with different degrees of crystallinity,porphyritic rhyolite with flow structure,and microcrystalline rhyolite.The explosive phase is characterized by welded lapilli tuff,lapilli tuff with flow structure,stratified lapilli tuff,and tuff with accretionary lapilli.Sandstones and siltstones characterize epiclastic rocks.There are porphyritic rhyolite dikes that cut the volcanic sequence.The rocks of the Colíder Group are rhyolites(>70%SiO2)with calcic-alkaline to alkaline-calcic affinity.A rhyolitic rock is predominantly ferroan and metaluminous,while a pyroclastic rock is predominantly magnesian to ferroan and meta-to peraluminous in composition.The rocks have a high LREE content,and slight fractionation of HREE suggests they have hybrid geochemical characteristics of high potassium calc-alkaline,shoshonitic,and suggestive affinities of A-type magmas,probably produced in a post-collisional orogenic environment.These rocks have a relatively high level of Ba and Rb and a negative anomaly for Sr,P,Nb,Ta,and Ti,suggesting an intra-plate mantle source with contributions from a metasomatized mantle edge.The rocks do not have adakitic characteristics nor fertility for Cu-Au(Sr/Y<1.9 and LaN/YbN<38.0)as in other regions of the AFMP.The welded lapilli tuff rocks show U-Pb age of 1838±17 Ma and 1817±2 Ma and are the older explosive phases.The effusive/subvolcanic phase has U-Pb ages of 1800±3 Ma and 1792±3 Ma obtained in the massive porphyritic rhyolite.The age interval of approximately 46 Ma(1838–1792 Ma)suggests the presence of two or more volcanic cycles or distinct volcanic events.Based on the interpretation of volcanic and epiclastic deposits and remote sensing products,the paleoenvironmental reconstruction includes subaerial with effusive/subvolcanic and explosive stages in a probable eroded volc

目的哮喘-慢性阻塞性肺疾病肺重叠症(Asthma-chronie obst ructive pulmonary disease overlap,A-CO)患者的生活质量较低,肺功能较差,病情经常加重。由于暴露于污染环境会加重其症状,增加发病率和病死率,环境管理对其至关重要。旨在通过系统性综述,寻找证据,以指导制订护理干预措施,促进ACO患者对空气质量的自我管理。方法2023年3月 ,系统检索CINAHL、Medline、Academie Search Complete .Scopus、WebofScience、Cochrane图书馆、乔安娜布里格斯研究所(JoannaBriggsInstitute,JBI)循证实践数据库,以及GoogleScholar。对纳人研究进行数据提取和综合,并对护理干预措施进行分类。采用JBI研究质量评估工具进行方法学质量评估。结果共纳入5篇来自不同国家的研究。促进ACO患者自我监控空气质量的干预措施包括:警觉性干预措施(医务人员定期巡诊、进行症状评估),监测干预措施(监测室内外诱发因素) ,教育干预措施(空气质量警报、避免接触过敏原),以及相关政策的影响,如无烟政策和改善空气质量的综合战略。尽管这些研究报告了不同的干预措施,方法质量也存在差异,但这些干预措施显示了预防患者病情恶化、尽量减少急诊就诊和住院治疗的潜力。这些关键点可作为护理干预措施的关键组成部分。结论有必要采取全面措施,让护士参与促进患者自我监控空气质量的多学科团队.提高认识、制订和实施护理干预,从而使ACO患者受益。同时,需要进--步开展研究,以扩大证据基础并完善这些干预措施。

Dealing with Multisource Information for Estuarine Flood Risk Appraisal in Two Western European Coastal Areas

Estuaries are usually affected by compound flooding triggers that cause diverse territorial damages.While fluvial flood risk assessment frameworks are well established in the literature,integrated management instruments that deal with estuarine flood risk remain incomplete and often lacking.This research presents a methodology to extract relevant information from multiple sources post-event and a database building process that is applied to two contrasting estuaries(the Tagus River estuary in Portugal,and the Shannon River estuary in Ireland)in the Western European coastal area.Overall,a total of 274 documents were analyzed and the information was stored in two databases.Multiple correspondence analysis was applied to extract the most informative and relevant estuarine flood indicators.An integrated estuarine flood risk assessment framework is presented and discussed based on the extracted indicators.The framework is driven by two distinct dimensions(oceanic and hydrographic)and revealed the transversal position of triggers of estuarine floods,reflecting the compounding effects usually present in these areas.The results also highlight two levels of flood risk mostly based on damage typology.

Soil properties characterization for land-use planning and soil management in watersheds under family farming

Environmental monitoring of small,rural watersheds was one of the components of the Natural Re-sources Management and Rural Poverty Alleviation Program(RS-Rural)in southern Brazil.The purpose of the monitoring was to assess the impact of promoting soil conservation and environment manage-ment practices adopted by farmers and funded by the Program.In four small monitored watersheds,in a total of 95 plots representing distinct land use and soil management,surface soil was collected to characterize ground-zero of the Program by determining several soil physical,chemical and microbio-logical properties.Principal component analysis(PCA)shows soil physical,chemical and biological properties were decisive in defining the agricultural soils in the rural watersheds with family farming.The sensitivity to chemical properties provides an opportunity to improve soil quality if soil management focuses on altering those properties.Soil management practiced by tobacco farmers leads to rapid,intense degradation of some natural soil properties,especially those related to the dynamics of soil organic matter,compared with more conservationist uses(forest,regrowth,and grassland).Thus,soil management must be reoriented to avoid the progress of degradation and recover soil physical and biological quality.Cover crops and by land-abandonment to allow natural vegetation are important management strategies for the degraded soils used for tobacco production,increasing soil organic matter,nutrients and microbial activity and thus allowing further crop production.In conclusion,wa-tersheds with tobacco cropping have soils with lower quality than when under no-tillage grain pro-duction,requiring changes in land use and soil management.

Glyphosate is a herbicide that has been widely used worldwide and is used in agricultural areas to control weeds and unwanted vegetation.Electrochemical sensors developed from different nanomaterials have high efficiency,excellent cost-benefit,and fast analysis time for detecting traces of environmental pollutants.This study aimed to produce an electrochemical sensor with disposable screen-printed electrodes based on carbon black modified with niobium nanoparticles to determine glyphosate in aqueous solutions.The morphology,structure and electrochemical performance of the sensor were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction and cyclic voltammetry.Differential pulse voltammetry in BR buffer solution at pH 5.0 allowed the generation of a method to quantify glyphosate concentration in a linear range of 5.90-172.30μmol/L(1.00-29.13μg/mL),with a limit of detection calculated at 3.07μmol/L(0.52μg/mL).The method efficiently quantified glyphosate in real water samples and showed no interference from K^(+),Na^(+),Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+)ions or thiamethoxam,imidacloprid and carbendazim pesticides.

The municipality of Boa Nova,in northeastern Brazil,is in an ecotone zone between the Caatinga and Atlantic Forest phytogeographic domains.The transition phytophysiognomy is seasonal forest and known locally as mata de cipó.In these phytophysiognomies there are lajedos,which are rock outcrops colonized by vegetation welladapted to extreme microclimatic variation and vegetation diversity is affected by the vegetation types of the surrounding areas.Due to the singularity of these environments and the relevance of floristic studies for conservation,this work aimed to identify the species richness and compare the similarity of the flora on four rock outcrops in Boa Nova.The flora was surveyed during exploratory walks along lajedos between 2016 and 2019.In total,162 species were identified on the Boa Nova outcrops.The flora has a composition and structure similar to semiarid outcrops,as well as endemic species that also occur in surrounding phytophysiomies.Despite the proximity,a similarity index revealed there is floristic dissimilarity between the areas.Nine new occurrences were recorded for the region,five species are threatened with extinction(Aosa gilgiana,Ficus cyclophylla,Hippeastrum stigmovittatum,Pleroma caatingae and Trixis pruskii),and 43 species are common in anthropogenic areas.This reinforces the importance of actions to conserve these areas.

With the expansion of eucalyptus crops to areas with severe water limitations,physiological studies involving eucalyptus clones to identify those that are tolerant to water stress become important.The objective of this study was to assess morphological and physiological responses by eucalyptus clones subjected to drought stress and rehydration.The experiment consisted of three eucalyptus clones:VC865,I224 and I144 and two water regimes:control and water stress followed by rehydration,with six replicates.Leaf water potential,gas exchange,maximum quantum efficiency of photo systemⅡand plant height and stem diameter were evaluated under drought stress and rehydration.After6 d of rehydration,the number of leaves,leaf area and dry mass of root,leaf,stem and their total were evaluated.All clones showed intense reduction of gas exchange during the drought stress period,and only VC865 and 1144 showed rapid recovery with 3 d of rehydration.Clone 1224 showed greater reduction in height,stem diameter,number of leaves,water potential at midday(Ψ_(w)_(Midday)),and maximum quantum efficiency of photosystemⅡ(F_(v)/F_(m)).Clones VC865and T144 showed lower reductions inΨ_(wMidday)and F_(v)/F_(m) under stress.VC865 had lower reductions in leaf number,leaf area and higher leaf dry mass,while clone I144 had higher height and lower reduction in root dry mass under.Both these clones showed higher water use efficiency with 3d of rehydration.These different phenotypic plasticities gave the clones VC865 and 1144 efficient mechanisms of acclimatization to stress and more drought tolerance,enhancing their greater capacity for recovery after stress,which allowed lower dry mass reduction.Clone 1224,however,was more susceptible to drought stress,undergoing greater physiological damage with only partial recovery during rehydration.
