Software Project Management Approaches for Global Software Development： A Systematic Mapping Study

Global Software Development （GSD） is a well established field of software engineering with the benefits of a global environment. Software Project Management （SPM） plays a key role in the success of GSD. As a result, the need has arisen to study and evaluate the downsides of SPM for GSD, to thereby pave the way for the development of new methods, techniques, and tools with which to tackle them. This paper aims to identify and classify research on SPM approaches for GSD that are available in the literature, to identify their current weaknesses and strengths, and to analyze their applications in industry. We performed a Systematic Mapping Study （SMS） based on six classification criteria. Eighty-four papers were selected and analyzed. The results indicate that interest in SPM for GSD has been increasing since 2006. As a class of approaches, the most frequently reported methods （40%） are those used for coordination, planning, and monitoring, along with estimation techniques that can be used to better match a distributed project. SPM for GSD requires further investigation by researchers and practitioners, particularly with respect to cost and time estimations. These findings will help overcome the challenges that must to be considered in future SPM research for GSD, especially regarding collaboration and time-zone differences.

Green and Sustainable Software has emerged as a new and highly active area in the software *** several years of research and work,we believe that it is now necessary to obtain a general snapshot of how the research in this area is *** do so,we have applied the 5 Ws(why,when,who,where,and what),a formula for getting the complete story on a *** have therefore carried out a study,using 542 publications related to Green and Sustainable Software research;these were recovered using *** results obtained allow us to conclude that it is important to identify key elements of the research to allow researchers be fully aware of the state of the research on Green and Sustainable Software(why);the study uses papers published between 2000 and the beginning of november 2018(when);the most prolific authors are mainly from Europe,although the USA is the most active country,Green and Sustainable Software being a very interactive area with a good number of multinational publications(who);the top five keywords related to sustainable aspects are Green Software,Green IT,Software Sustainability,Energy Consumption,and Energy Efficiency(what);finally,as regards the places authors prefer to publish in,there is almost a complete balance between conferences and journals,with a trend towards an increase in the number of publications(where).

Background:To assess the clinical outcomes of the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens(ICL)with a central port throughout 7 years of ***:Eighty-four eyes of 52 patients were evaluated over a follow-up period of 7 years after V4c ICL ***(UDVA)and corrected(CDVA)distance visual acuities,refraction,intraocular pressure(IOP),endothelial cell density(ECD)and vault were ***:The mean postoperative UDVA(logMAR)was 0.04±0.11,0.13±0.19 and 0.17±0.23 at 1-,5-and 7-years,respectively(Pn CDVA(logMAR)remains unchanged throughout a 7-year follow-up period(0.02±0.08 and 0.02±0.08,at 5-and 7-years,respectively,P=0.2).At all follow-up visits,more than 95%of the eyes achieved a CDVA of 20/25 or better and more than 85%a CDVA of 20/*** the end of the follow-up(7 years),no eye lost more lines of CDVA,56 eyes(66.7%)and 28 eyes(33.3%)gained lines of *** 7-years,the spherical equivalent was−0.62±0.62 *** significant increase in IOP(>20 mmHg or an increase higher than 5 mmHg)occurred in any case throughout the 7-year of *** loss in ECD from the preoperative baseline at the last follow-up visit was 2.6%.no intraoperative or postoperative complications or adverse events occurred during the follow-up ***:The outcomes of this study show the long-term viability of the V4c ICL implantation as a surgical option for the correction of myopia.

BACKGROUnD The prevalence of heart failure(HF)increases with age,and it is one of the leading causes of hospitalization and death in older ***,there are little data on in-hospital mortality in patients with HF≥75 years in *** A retrospective analysis of the Spanish Minimum Basic Data Set was performed,including all HF episodes discharged from public hospitals in Spain between 2016 and *** was performed using the International Classification of Diseases,10th ***≥75 years with HF as the principal diagnosis were *** calculated:(1)the crude in-hospital mortality rate and its distribution according to age and sex;(2)the risk-standardized in-hospital mortality ratio;and(3)the association between in-hospital mortality and the availability of an intensive cardiac care unit(ICCU)in the *** We included 354,792 HF episodes of patients over 75 *** mean age was 85.2±5.5 years,and 59.2%of patients were *** most frequent comorbidities were renal failure(46.1%),diabetes mellitus(35.5%),valvular disease(33.9%),cardiorespiratory failure(29.8%),and hypertension(26.9%).In-hospital mortality was 12.7%,and increased with age[odds ratio(OR)=1.07,95%CI:1.07–1.07,Pnd was lower in women(OR=0.96,95%CI:0.92–0.97,Pn predictors of mortality were the presence of cardiogenic shock(OR=19.5,95%CI:16.8–22.7,Pnd advanced cancer(OR=2.6,95%CI:2.5–2.8,Pn hospitals with ICCU,the in-hospital risk-adjusted mortality tended to be lower(OR=0.85,95%CI:0.72–1.00,P=0.053).COnCLUSIOnS In-hospital mortality in patients with HF≥75 years between 2016 and 2019 was 12.7%,higher in males and elderly *** main predictors of mortality were cardiogenic shock,stroke,and advanced *** was a trend toward lower mortality in centers with an ICCU.

Several hydrogels were synthesized by free-radical polymerization in an aqueous medium based on potato starch(PS),poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA),and n,n′-Methylenebisacrylamide(MBAm),being possible to study these hydrogels as a function of the proportion of components *** this way,the products generated from the synthesis were characterized by swelling and deswelling kinetics,the first swelling being verified with Schott and statistical models,allowing to contrast the proximity between the experimental and theoretical ***,water retention in soil(R%),spectroscopy(FTIR),morphological(SEM),and thermal(TGA and DSC)analysis allowing to know the intrinsic characteristics of the material,increasing in general terms the knowledge of this type of *** this context,it was possible to verify the characteristics and effectiveness of the synthesis and crosslinking of the main *** experimental results obtained show that the synthesized hydrogels present representative swellings consistent with kinetic and statistical models,optimal thermal stability depending on the amount of crosslinker,and excellent water retention in environments such as soil,presenting it as an excellent alternative to be used in agro-industrial applications in an eco-friendly way.

Populations at the low latitude limits of a species range(rear-edge populations)are often considered more vulnerable to climate ***,their ability to track different environmental settings at a regional scale has been widely overlooked,although this may be relevant to accurately assess their adaptive capacity to cope with ongoing *** we tested whether the endemic African Chaffinch(Fringilla coelebs africana)tracks environmental changes(*** temperatures,snow cover)by rearranging their numbers between seasons(spring ***)along the altitude gradients of its northwestern African *** additionally tested whether these seasonal changes in abundance were paralleled by morphological variation,suggesting a process of population *** assessed African Chaffinch abundance in tree covered farmland and woodland sites distributed along an altitude gradient in spring and *** addition,we captured and measured chaffinches within the study gradient to explore the patterns of morphological *** results showed that chaffinches shifted to lowlands from snow covered highlands during *** addition,highland individuals showed longer and more concave wings than their lowland *** morphological traits are usually related to flight efficiency in migratory birds,which suggest the presence of altitudinal movements aimed to track the environmental seasonality caused by *** results suggest a potential role of altitudinal seasonality as a driver of regional diversification within the African Chaffinch populations,which could be occurring in other north African avian species given their relatively high endemicity in the *** evolutionary and conservation implications of these displacements have been often overlooked despite they can shape the adaptive capacity of rear-edge bird populations to face the ongoing environmental changes in this peripheral area of the Palearctic.

Ti6Al4V powders with three different particle size distributions(0–20, 20–45, and 45–75 μm) were used to evaluate the effect of the particle size distribution on the solid-state sintering and their mechanical properties. The sintering kinetics was determined by dilatometry at temperatures from 900 to 1260°C. The mechanical properties of the sintered samples were evaluated by microhardness and compression tests. The sintering kinetics indicated that the predominant mechanism depends on the relative density irrespective of the particle size used. The mechanical properties of the sintered samples are adversely affected by increasing pore volume fraction. The elastic Young's modulus and yield stress follow a power law function of the relative density. The fracture behavior after compression is linked to the neck size developed during sintering, exhibiting two different mechanisms of failure: interparticle neck breaking and intergranular cracking in samples with relative densities below and above of 90%, respectively. The main conclusion is that relative density is responsible for the kinetics, mechanical properties, and failure behavior of Ti6 Al4 V powders.
