The basis of the design of earth and rockfill dams is focused on ensuring the stability of the structure under a set of conditions expected to occur during its *** mechanical and hydraulic conditions must be considered since pore pressures develop during construction,after impoundment and in *** instability phenomena caused by transient flow and internal erosion must be *** prediction of the hydromechanical behavior of traditional and non-traditional materials used in the construction of dams is therefore *** materials used for dam’s construction cover a wide range from clayey materials to *** a broad sense they are compacted materials and therefore unsaturated materials.A summary of the current level of knowledge on the behavior of traditional materials used in the construction of dams is presented in the *** compacted materials(with a significant clay fraction),rockfill and compacted soft rocks are studied with more *** latter are non-traditional *** are analysed because their use,as well as the use of mixtures of soil and rock,is becoming more necessary for sustainability reasons.

Remoras are commensal fish of various marine species,such as sharks,swordfishes,turtles,dolphins,manta rays and *** specimen of marlin sucker Remora osteochir was evaluated using computed tomography for skeletal digital reconstruction,digital radiology for general evaluation and bone counting,and the double contrast technique to distinguish coelomic *** radiographic images,it was possible to observe otoliths in the center of the neurocranium,to count 27 vertebrae,nine pairs of ribs,and to detect the presence of the hipural and epural bones near of the caudal *** double contrast images,it was possible to visualize the swim bladder,gills,heart,liver,stomach and *** the tomographic images and reconstructions,it was possible to identify the intercalar bones of the cephalic disc;the spine with vertebral bodies composed of neural arches and ventral ribs;and the pectoral girdle formed by posttemporal,cleithrum and scapulocoracoid *** was concluded that digital radiology and computed tomography were able to describe anatomical structures of marlin sucker *** without the need for dissection.

In this work,the impact of the doping process on the photoluminescence emission of CaWO_(4) as a function of the concentration of eu^(3+) cation(0.01 mol%,0.02 mol%,0.04 mol%,0.06 mol%,0.08 mol%,and 0.10 mol%) is discussed in ***_(1-x)WO~4:xeu^(3+) samples were successfully synthesized by a simple coprecipitation method followed by microwave *** blue shift in the absorption edge confirms the quantum confinement effect and the band gap energy covers the range from 3.91 to 4.18 eV,as the amount of eu^(3+) cations *** experimental results are sustained by first-principles calculations,at the density functional theory level,to decipher the geometry and electronic properties,thereby enabling a more accurate and direct comparison between theory and experiment for the Ca_(1-x)WO_(4):xeu^(3+) structure.

Dear editor,Goiter is defined as the enlargement of the thyroid *** is currently divided into diffuse and nodular and subdivided into toxic(associated with hyperthyroidism)or nontoxic(associated with normal thyroid stimulating hormone[TSH]levels).1 The most common cause of goiter is iodine deficiency,2 and other causes are increased levels of TSH,natural goitrogens,iron and vitamin A deficiency,genetic factors(DICeR1 syndrome and PTeN hamartoma tumor syndrome),and hereditary(Plummer syndrome)factors.

A class of distributions called Box-Cox symmetric was proposed for random variables with asymmetric distributions. This class allows through its structure an interpretation of the parameters in terms of quantiles (in particular, the median), relative dispersion and skewness. This study presents the initial results of the computational development of basic functions of each of thee="font-family:Verdana;"> distributions that make up the Box-Cox symmetric class. Four functions have been developed to compose a routine in software R up to now. These functions are related to random numbers generation, probability density function, cumulative distribution function, and quantile function associated to a given probability. examples of implemented functions were presented. The gamlss routine was used to check the performance of developed functions.

Arabidopsis plastid antiporters KeA1 and KeA2are critical for plastid development, photosynthetic efficiency, and plant ***, we show that KeA1 and KeA2 are involved in vacuolar protein trafficking. Genetic analyses found that the kea1 kea2 mutants had short siliques, small seeds, and short seedlings. Molecular and biochemical assays showed that seed storage proteins were missorted out of the cell and the precursor proteins were accumulated in kea1 kea2. Protein storage vacuoles(PSVs) were smaller in kea1 kea2. Further analyses showed that endosomal trafficking in kea1 kea2 was compromised. Vacuolar sorting receptor 1(VSR1) subcellular localizations, VSR–cargo interactions, and p24 distribution on the endoplasmic reticulum(eR) and Golgi apparatus were affected in kea1 kea2. Moreover, plastid stromule growth was reduced and plastid association with the endomembrane compartments was disrupted in kea1 kea2. Stromule growth was regulated by the cellular pH and K+homeostasis maintained by KeA1 and KeA2. The organellar pH along the trafficking pathway was altered in kea1 kea2. Overall, KeA1 and KeA2 regulate vacuolar trafficking by controlling the function of plastid stromules via adjusting pH and K+homeostasis.
