In practice,an equilibrium point of the power system is considered transiently secure if it can withstand a specified contingency by maintaining transient evolution of rotor angles and voltage magnitudes within set bounds.A novel sequential approach is proposed to obtain transiently stable equilibrium points through the preventive control of transient stability and transient voltage sag(TVS)problems caused by a severe *** proposed approach conducts a sequence of non-heuristic optimal active power re-dispatch of the generators to steer the system toward a transiently secure operating point by sequentially solving the transient-stability-constrained optimal power flow(TSC-OPF)*** the proposed approach,there are two sequential projection stages,with the first stage ensuring the rotor angle stability and the second stage removing TVS in voltage *** both projection stages,the projection operation corresponds to the TSC-OPF,with its formulation directly derived by adding only two steady-state variable-based transient constraints to the conventional OPF *** effectiveness of this approach is numerically demonstrated in terms of its accuracy and computational performance by using the Western System Coordinated Council(WSCC)3-machine 9-bus system and an equivalent model of the Mexican 46-machine 190-bus system.

Due to the low dispatchability of wind power,the massive integration of this energy source in power systems requires short-term and very short-term wind power output forecasting models to be as efficient and stable as possible.A study is conducted in the present paper of potential improvements to the performance of artificial neural network(Ann)models in terms of efficiency and ***,current Ann models have been developed by considering exclusively the meteorological information of the wind farm reference station,in addition to selecting a fixed number of time periods prior to the *** this respect,new Ann models are proposed in this paper,which are developed by:varying the number of prior 1-h periods(periods prior to the forecasting hour)chosen for the input layer parameters;and/or incorporating in the input layer data from a second weather station in addition to the wind farm reference *** has been found that the model performance is always improved when data from a second weather station are *** mean absolute relative error(MARE)of the new models is reduced by up to 7.5%.Furthermore,the longer the forecasting horizon,the greater the degree of improvement.

This study provides new insights on the phylogenetic position of the lichenicolous fungal genus Abrothallus based on six molecular markers(nuSSU,nuLSU,mtSSU,RPB1,RPB2 and TEF-α).In a broad-scale analysis,we detected high support for inclusion of the genus within Dothideomycetes.A further analysis provided support for Abrothallus as a member of the subclass Pleosporomycetidae as a sister group of Jahnulales,an order of aquatic *** the exclusive characters of this group of apotheciate fungi within the Dothidiomycetes,a new monotypic order Abrothallales is here introduced together with the new family *** a multi-locus analysis(based on the six loci indicated above plus ITS)restricted to 12 putative Abrothallus species,two clearly separated clades were observed:one comprising species growing on lichens of the families Parmeliaceae and Ramalinaceae,and the second including species that live on lichens of the order Peltigerales and the family Cladoniaceae.

Plant 9-1ipoxygenases （9-LOX） and α-dioxygenases （α-DOX） initiate the synthesis of oxylipins after bacterial infection. Here, the role of these enzymes in plants＇ defense was investigated using individual Arabidopsis thaliana Ioxl and doxl mutants and a double Ioxl doxl mutant. Studies with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato （Pst） revealed the enhanced susceptibility of Ioxl to the virulent strain Pst DC3000 and the partial impairment of Ioxl and doxl mutants to activate systemic acquired resistance. notably, both defects were enhanced in the Ioxl doxl plants as compared with individual mutants. We found that pre-treatment with 9-LOX- and α-DOX-generated oxylipins protected plant tissues against bacterial infection. The strongest effect in this respect was exerted by 9-ketooctadecatrienoic acid （9-KOT）, which is produced from linolenic acid by 9-LOX. Quantification of 9-KOT revealed its accumulation after bacterial infection. The levels were reduced in Ioxl and Ioxl doxl plants but strongly increased in the doxl mutant due to metabolic interaction of the two pathways. Transcriptional analyses indicated that 9-KOT pre-treatment modifies hormone homeostasis during bacterial infection. The nature of the changes detected suggested that 9-KOT interferes with the hormonal changes caused by bacterial effectors. This notion was substantiated by the finding that 9-KOT failed to reduce the growth of PstDC3OOOhrpA, a mutant compromised in effector secretion, and of the avirulent strain Pst DC3000 avrRpml. Further support for the action of the 9-LOX- and α-DOX-oxylipin pathways as modulators of hormone homeostasis was the ob- servation that Ioxl doxl seedlings are hypersensitive to the growth-inhibitory effect of ABA and showed enhanced ac- tivation of ABA-inducible marker genes as compared with wild-type plants.

Estimating the global position of a road vehicle without using GPS is a challenge that many scientists look forward to solving in the near future. normally, inertial and odometry sensors are used to complement GPS measures in an attempt to provide a means for maintaining vehicle odometry during GPS outage. nonetheless, recent experiments have demonstrated that computer vision can also be used as a valuable source to provide what can be denoted as visual odometry. For this purpose, vehicle motion can be estimated using a non-linear, photogrametric approach based on RAndom SAmple Consensus (RAnSAC). The results prove that the detection and selection of relevant feature points is a crucial factor in the global performance of the visual odometry algorithm. The key issues for further improvement are discussed in this letter.
