Tumor invasion follows a complex mechanism which involves cell migration and *** study the processes in which primary and secondary metastases invade and damage the normal cells,mathematical models are often extremely *** this paper,we present a mathematical model of acid-mediated tumor growth consisting of radially symmetric reaction-diffusion *** assumption on the radial symmetry of the solutions is imposed here in view that tumors present spherical symmetry at the microscopic ***,we consider various empirical mechanisms which describe the propagation of tumors by considering cancer cells,normal cells,and the concentration of H+*** other assumptions,we suppose that these components follow logistictype growth ***,this is an important difference with respect to various other mathematical models for tumor growth available in the ***,we also add competition terms of normal and tumor cells *** carry out a balancing study of the equations of the model,and a numerical model is proposed to produce *** practical remarks derived from our assumptions are provided in the discussion of our simulations.

We present an unusual case of portal vein thrombosis with a splanchnic hemangioma secondary to acute biliary pancreatitis. We report a 45-year-old patient, who has systemic arterial hypertension in treatment, was admitted for abdominal pain in the epigastrium, with irradiation to the right hypochondrium, accompanied by nausea and vomiting of 10 occasions of bile content, physical examination with pain in the right hypochondrium, murphy positive. We have laboratory studies with a lipase of 788, so a diagnosis of pancreatitis is made with an etiology to be determined. The laboratories suggestive of acute biliary pancreatitis (lipase 788.71);an imaging study was subsequently performed (ultrasonography) with the result of stone in the common bile duct. A laparoscopy was performed with relative improvement, so he was discharged and returned 20 days after surgery due to abdominal pain of the same intensity in the left hypochondrium. Ending his hospitalization with a splenectomy for splenic hemangioma with portal vein thrombosis.

AIm: To compare under similar conditions intraoperative surgical efficiencies metrics between an active fluidics and a gravity based phacoemulsification ***: Adult patients who were diagnosed with a cataract that compromised visual acuity inferior to 20/40 were included in the study. Patients were excluded from the study if they had a history of severe retinal disorders, clinically significant corneal endothelial dystrophy or history of corneal disease. All phacoemulsification surgeries were performed by a single surgeon. Both phacoemulsification systems used the 0.9 mm 45-degree aspiration bypass system Intrepid Balanced tip and the 0.9 mm Intrepid Ultra infusion sleeve. All cataracts were classified using the Lens Opacities Classification System III, cumulative dissipated energy(CDE) and aspiration fluids were measured in each ***: Totally 2000 eyes were included in the study. Phacoemulsification was performed in 1000(50%) eyes with an active fluid dynamics system and in 1000(50%) eyes with a gravity-based fluidic system. mean CDE until fracture of the lens was 1.1 and 1.9 percent-seconds and total mean CDE used was 5.6 and 7.2 percent-seconds using an active fluidics dynamics system and gravity-based fluidic system, respectively(Pmean aspiration fluids used were 70 m L using an active fluidics dynamics system and 85 m L using a gravity-based fluidic system(Pmed under similar conditions(same surgeon, phaco tip and sleeve) with the active fluidics dynamics system required significantly lower CDE and aspiration fluids.

We report a molecular modeling paradigm to describe silica polymerization reactions in aqueous solutions at conditions that are representative of realistic experimental processes like biosilicification or porous silica synthesis–*** close to ambient temperatures and over a wide range of *** key point is to describe the Si-O-Si chemical bond formation and breakage processes through a continuous potential with a balance between attractive and repulsive interactions between suitably placed virtual sites and sticky *** simplicity of the model,its applicability in standard parallelized molecular dynamics codes,and its compatibility with the widely used mARTINI coarse-grained force-field allows for the study of systems containing millions of atoms over microsecond time *** model is calibrated to match experimental results for the temporal evolution of silica polymerization in aqueous solution close to the isoelectric point,and can describe silica polymerization and self-assembly processes during encapsulation of a surfactant micelle.

At the Douglas-Kroll-Hess （DKI4） level, the B3PW91 functional along with the all-eleclron relativistic basis sets of valence triple and quadruple zeta qualities are used to determine the structure, stability, and electronic properties of the small silver clusters （Agn, n ≤ 7）. The results presented in this study are in good agreement with the experimental data and theoretical values obtained at a higher level of theory from the literature. Static polarizability and hyperpolarizability are also reported. It is verified that the mean dipole polarizability per atom exhibits an odd-even oscillation and that the polarizability anisotropy is directly related to the cluster shape. In this article, the first study of hyperpolarizabilities of small silver clusters is presented. Except for the monomer, the second hyperpolarizabilities of the silver clusters are significantly larger than those of the copper clusters.

In this work we interpret the data showing unusually strong velocity dispersion of P-waves (up to 30%) and attenuation in a relatively narrow frequency range. The cross-hole and VSP data were measured in a reservoir, which is in the porous zone of the Silurian Kankakee Limestone Formation formed by vertical fractures within a porous matrix saturated by oil, and gas patches. Such a medium exhibits significant attenuation due to wave-induced fluid flow across the interfaces between different types of inclusions (fractures, fluid patches) and background. Other models of intrinsic attenuation (in particular squirt flow models) cannot explain the amount of observed dispersion when using realistic rock properties. In order to interpret data in a satisfactory way we develop a superposition model for fractured porous rocks accounting also for the patchy saturation effect.

We propose a realistic topological p-n junction （TPNJ） by matching two Bi2Se3 （0001） slabs with opposite arrangements of planar twin boundary defects. The atomistic modeling of such a device leads to dislocation defects in the hexagonal lattice in several quintuple layers. Nevertheless, total energy calculations reveal that the interface relaxes, yielding a smooth geometrical transition that preserves the nearest-neighbors fcc-type geometry throughout these defect layers. The electronic, magnetic, and transport properties of the junction have then been calculated at the ab initio level under open boundary conditions, i.e., employing a thin-film geometry that is infinite along the electron transport direction. Indeed, a p-n junction is obtained with a built-in potential as large as 350 meV. The calculations further reveal the spin texture across the interface with unprecedented detail. As the main result, we obtain non-negligible transmission probabilities around the F point, which involve an electron spin-flip process while crossing the interface.
