Bats are the second-most diverse group of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gaps remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,especially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we explore the influence of such factors by comparing species richness and composition of bat flies on host bats,as well as specialization and modularity of bat–bat fly interaction networks between seasons and adult host *** captured bats and collected their ectoparasitic flies at 10 sampling sites in the savannahs of Amapástate,northeastern region of the Brazilian *** female bats being more parasitized and recording greater bat fly species richness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistically *** pooled network could be divided into 15 compartments with 54 links,and all subnetworks comprised>12 *** total number of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respectively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed higher bat fly species richness and abundance in the wet season,whereas specialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats displayed higher specialization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex contribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating bat–bat fly interaction networks.

in the last few decades, a large quantity of research has been performed to elucidate the current behavior of glaciers in southern Chile, especially with respect to the volumetric changes in the outlets of the northern and southern Patagonian icefields （nPi and sPi, respectively）. Calculations have shown a generalized thinning and withdrawal, which greatly contributes to the increase in sea level attributed to the ice melt from non-polar glaciers. However, these icefields are surrounded by many small icecaps, which have＇yet to be studied in detail. A precise estimation of the volume of ice located in these mountain chains could provide new information with respect to this area＇s exact contribution to the increase in sea level. Thus, this study presents an inventory of relatively small northern Patagonian glaciers in the surrounding of the three summits： Mount Queulat, and the Maca and Hudson volcanoes. The study used remote sensing techniques in a Gis environment to determine the margins, surface areas, thickness changes and hypsometry for the glaciated zones. Landsat images from different dates were analyzed using standard band ratio and screen delineation techniques. Additionally, digital elevation models from different dates were compared using map algebra, calculating thickness changes. based on the results, we propose that there are important volumetric changes in the glaciers studied, whichcould be explained by precipitation trends in a general context, and an influence of the glaciers＇ sizes in some local response. Therefore, we suggest the exact contribution of the Patagonia to the increase in sea level corresponds to a regional pattern rather than just the behavior of a single ice field.

Plant 9-1ipoxygenases （9-LOX） and α-dioxygenases （α-DOX） initiate the synthesis of oxylipins after bacterial infection. Here, the role of these enzymes in plants＇ defense was investigated using individual Arabidopsis thaliana ioxl and doxl mutants and a double ioxl doxl mutant. studies with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato （Pst） revealed the enhanced susceptibility of ioxl to the virulent strain Pst DC3000 and the partial impairment of ioxl and doxl mutants to activate systemic acquired resistance. notably, both defects were enhanced in the ioxl doxl plants as compared with individual mutants. We found that pre-treatment with 9-LOX- and α-DOX-generated oxylipins protected plant tissues against bacterial infection. The strongest effect in this respect was exerted by 9-ketooctadecatrienoic acid （9-KOT）, which is produced from linolenic acid by 9-LOX. Quantification of 9-KOT revealed its accumulation after bacterial infection. The levels were reduced in ioxl and ioxl doxl plants but strongly increased in the doxl mutant due to metabolic interaction of the two pathways. Transcriptional analyses indicated that 9-KOT pre-treatment modifies hormone homeostasis during bacterial infection. The nature of the changes detected suggested that 9-KOT interferes with the hormonal changes caused by bacterial effectors. This notion was substantiated by the finding that 9-KOT failed to reduce the growth of PstDC3OOOhrpA, a mutant compromised in effector secretion, and of the avirulent strain Pst DC3000 avrRpml. Further support for the action of the 9-LOX- and α-DOX-oxylipin pathways as modulators of hormone homeostasis was the ob- servation that ioxl doxl seedlings are hypersensitive to the growth-inhibitory effect of ABA and showed enhanced ac- tivation of ABA-inducible marker genes as compared with wild-type plants.

AiM: To evaluate the effect of femtosecond laser-assisted lens surgery(FLALs;cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange) on the structure of the optic nerve head and the ***: This prospective longitudinal study included healthy eyes undergoing FLALs. Eyes with glaucoma or any other ocular disease that could alter optical coherence tomography results were excluded. Retinal nerve fiber layer(RnFL), Bruch’s membrane opening-minimum rim width(BMO-MRW) and macular thickness(MT) were measured preoperatively, 1 and 6 mo after surgery using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(sD-OCT). Changes between preoperative and postoperative values were ***: A total of 87 eyes of 46 patients were included in this study. Preoperative RnFL, BMO-MRW and MT in microns(μm) were 100.77±10.39, 330.31±49.99 and 276.30±33.39, respectively. Postoperative RnFL, BMO-MRW and MT were 104.74±11.55, 348.32±54.05 and 279.83±22.65 1 mo after surgery and 102.93±11.17, 343.11±53.4 and 278.90±22.19 6 mo after surgery, respectively;which equals an increase of 3.93%, 5.45% and 1.27%,respectively, 1 mo after surgery, and 2.14%, 3.87% and 0.94% 6 mo after surgery. The differences between the preoperative and the postoperative RnFL and BMO-MRW values were statistically significant(Ping MT values, there were not statistically significant differences(P=0.26).COnCLUsiOn: Our study suggests that FLALs does not have a negative impact on the structural status of the optic nerve head in healthy eyes, assessed by sD-OCT. There is a slight increase in the values of RnFL, BMO-MRW and MT 1 mo and 6 mo after surgery.

We propose the usage of formal languages for expressing instances of nP-complete problems for their application in polynomial transformations. The proposed approach, which consists of using formal language theory for polynomial transformations, is more robust, more practical, and faster to apply to real problems than the theory of polynomial transformations. in this paper we propose a methodology for transforming instances between nP-complete problems, which differs from Garey and Johnson's. Unlike most transformations which are used for proving that a problem is nP-complete based on the nP-completeness of another problem, the proposed approach is intended for extrapolating some known characteristics, phenomena, or behaviors from a problem A to another problem B. This extrapolation could be useful for predicting the performance of an algorithm for solving B based on its known performance for problem A, or for taking an algorithm that solves A and adapting it to solve B.

This work shows, after a brief introduction to Riemann zeta function , the demonstration that all non-trivial zeros of this function lies on the so-called “critical line”,, the one Hardy demonstrated in his famous work that infinite countable zeros of the above function can be found on it. Thus, out of this strip, the only remaining zeros of this function are the so-called “trivial ones” . After an analytical introduction reminding the existence of a germ from a generic zero lying in , we show through a Weierstrass-Hadamard representation approach of the above germ that non-trivial zeros out of cannot be found.

This paper aims to study the shear interaction mechanism of one of the critical geosynthetic interfaces,the geotextile/geomembrane, typically used for lined containment facilities such as landfills. A largedirect shear machine is used to carry out 90 geosynthetic interface tests. The test results show a strainsoftening behavior with a very small dilatancy （〈0.5 mm） and nonlinear failure envelopes at a normalstress range of 25e450 kPa. The influences of the micro-level structure of these geosynthetics on themacro-level interface shear behavior are discussed in detail. This study has generated several practicalrecommendations to help professionals to choose what materials are more adequate. From the threegeotextiles tested, the thermally bonded monofilament exhibits the best interface shear strength underhigh normal stress. For low normal stress, however, needle-punched monofilaments are *** the regular textured geomembranes tested, the space between the asperities is an important *** closer these asperities are, the better the result achieves. For the irregular textured geomembranestested, the nonwoven geotextiles made of monofilaments produce the largest interface shear strength.
