Using the la.da. a.d symmetric ga.ges for the vector potentia. of a.consta.t ma.netic field a.d the qua.tum problem of a.cha.ged pa.ticle moving on a.fla. surfa.e, we show the cla.sica. electroma.netic ga.ge tra.sforma.ion does not correspond to a.one-dimensiona. unita.y group tra.sforma.ion U(1) of the wa.e function for the qua.tum ca.e. In a.dition, with the re-exa.ina.ion of the rela.ion between the ma.netic field B a.d its vector potentia. a. we found tha., in order to ha.e a.consistent formula.ion of the dyna.ics of the cha.ged pa.ticle with both expressions, we must ha.e tha. B=∇×a.if a.d only if B≠0.
