Amid the scarcity of lunar meteorites and the imperative to preserve their scientific value,nondestructive testing methods are *** translates into the application of microscale rock mechanics experiments and scanning electron microscopy for surface composition *** study explores the application of Machine Learning algorithms in predicting the mineralogical and mechanical properties of DHOFAR 1084,JAH 838,and NWA 11444 lunar meteorites based solely on their atomic percentage *** a prior-data fitted network model,we achieved near-perfect classification scores for meteorites,mineral groups,and individual *** regressor models,notably the KNeighbor model,provided an outstanding estimate of the mechanical properties—previously measured by nanoindentation tests—such as hardness,reduced Young’s modulus,and elastic *** considerations on the nature and physical properties of the minerals forming these meteorites,including porosity,crystal orientation,or shock degree,are essential for refining *** findings underscore the potential of Machine Learning in enhancing mineral identification and mechanical property estimation in lunar exploration,which pave the way for new advancements and quick assessments in extraterrestrial mineral mining,processing,and research.

We examined how afforestation patterns impact carbon(c),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)stoichiometry in the plant-litter-soil *** leaf,branch,stem,and root,litter,and soil samples were collected from mixedspecies plantations of Robinia pseudoacacia with Amygdalus davidiana(RPAD),*** with Armeniaca sibirica(RPAS),and monocultures of ***(RP),***(AD),and ***(AS)in the Loess Hilly *** results showed that in mixed-species plantations,*** had lower leaf N and P concentrations than in monocultures,while both *** and *** had higher leaf N and P *** P limited tree growth in both afforestation *** *** with *** or *** reduced N-limitation during litter *** soil total N and P concentrations were higher in RPAS than in RPAD,and both were higher than the corresponding *** average soil c:N ratio was the smallest in RPAS,while the average soil c:P ratio was larger in RPAS than in RP.A positive correlation between N and P concentrations,and between c:N and c:P ratios,was found in litter and all plant organs of mono-and ***,for N concentration and c:N ratio,the correlations between plant(i.e.,leaf,branch,root)and litter and between plant and soil were inverse between plantation *** has an increased litter decomposition rate to release N and P,while RPAS has a faster rate of soil N *** was the best plantation(mixed)to improve biogeochemical cycling,as soil nutrient restrictions,particularly for P-limitation,on trees growth were *** study thus provides insights into suitable tree selection and management by revealing c:N:P stoichiometry in the plant-litter-soil system under different afforestation patterns.

Recent studies have shown that the tussock grass Stipa tenacissima L. facilitates the establishment of late-successional shrubs, in what constitutes the first documented case of facilitation of woody plants by grasses. With the aim of increasing our knowledge of this interaction, in the present study we investigated the effects of S. tenacissima on the foliar δ13c, δ15N, nitrogen concentration, and carbon ： nitrogen ratio of introduced seedlings of Pistacia lentiscus L., Quercus coccifera L., and Medicago arborea L. in a semi-arid Mediterranean steppe. Six months after planting, the values of δ13c ranged between -26.9‰ and -29.6‰, whereas those of δ15N ranged between -1.9‰ and 2.7‰. The foliar c ： N ratio ranged between 10.7 and 53.5, and the nitrogen concentration ranged between 1.0% and 4.4%. We found no significant effect of the microsite provided by S. tenacissima on these variables in any of the species evaluated. The values of δ13c were negatively correlated with predawn water potentials in M. arborea and were positively correlated with relative growth rate in Q. coccifera. The values of δ15N were positively correlated with the biomass allocation to roots in the latter species. The present results suggest that the modification of environmental conditions in the are surrounding S. tenacissima was not strong enough to modify the foliar isotopic and nitrogen concentration of shrubs during the early stages after planting.

The new organic-inorganic compound, [c_6H_7N_2O_2]_3Tecl_5·2cl was synthesized and its structure was determined at room temperature in the triclinic system （P^-1） with the following parameters： a = 10.5330（11）？, b = 10.6663（11）？, c = 15.9751（16）？, α = 82.090（2）°, β = 71.193（2）°, γ = 68.284（2）°and Z = 2. The final cycle of refinement led to R = 0.057 and Rw = 0.149. The crystal structure was stabilized by an extensive network of N--H···cl and non-classical c--H···cl hydrogen bonds between the cation and the anionic group. Several thermal analysis techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetric analysis and evolved gas analysis were used. We used isoconversional kinetics methods to determine the kinetics parameters. We observe that the decomposition of [c_6H_7N_2O_2]_3Tecl_5·2cl entails the formation hydrochloric acid of nitroaniline as volatiles. The infrared spectra were recorded in the4000–400 cm^（-1）frequency region. The Raman spectra were recorded in the external region of the anionic sublattice vibration 50–1500 cm^（-1）. The optical band gap was calculated from the UV-Vis absorbance spectra using classical Tauc relation which was found to be 3.12 and 3.67 eV.

QMEc:a tool for high-throughput quantitative assessment of microbial functional potential in c,N,P,and S biogeochemical cycling

Microorganisms are major drivers of elemental cycling in the biosphere. Determining the abundance of microbial functional traits involved in the transformation of nutrients, including carbon(c), nitrogen(N), phosphorus(P) and sulfur(S), is critical for assessing microbial functionality in elemental cycling. We developed a high-throughput quantitative-PcR-based chip, Quantitative microbial element cycling(QMEc), for assessing and quantifying the genetic potential of microbiota to mineralize soil organic matter and to release c, N, P and S. QMEc contains 72 primer pairs targeting 64 microbial functional genes for c, N, P, S and methane metabolism. These primer pairs were characterized by high coverage(average of 18–20 phyla covered per gene)and sufficient specificity(>70% match rate) with a relatively low detection limit(7–102 copies per run). QMEc was successfully applied to soil and sediment samples, identifying significantly different structures, abundances and diversities of the functional genes(Pc was also able to determine absolute gene abundance. QMEc enabled the simultaneous qualitative and quantitative determination of 72 genes from 72 samples in one run, which is promising for comprehensively investigating microbially mediated ecological processes and biogeochemical cycles in various environmental contexts including those of the current global change.

campylobacter jejuni(c. jejuni),a Gram-negative microaerophilic bacterium,is a predominant cause of bacterial foodborne gastroenteritis in humans worldwide. Despite its importance as a major foodborne pathogen,our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying c. jejuni stress survival and pathogenesis is limited. Inorganic polyphosphate(poly P) has been shown to play significant roles in bacterial resistance to stress and virulence in many pathogenic bacteria. c. jejuni contains the complete repertoire of enzymes required for poly P metabolism. Recent work in our laboratory and others have demonstrated that poly P controls a plethora of c. jejuni properties that impact its ability to survive in the environment as well as to colonize/infect mammalian hosts. This review article summarizes the current literature on the role of poly P in c. jejuni stress survival and virulence and discusses on how poly P-related enzymes can be exploited for therapeutic/prevention purposes. Additionally,the review article identifies potential areas for future investigation that would enhance our understanding of the role of poly P in c. jejuni and other bacteria,which ultimately would facilitate design of effective therapeutic/preventive strategies to reduce not only the burden of c. jejuni-caused foodborne infections but also of other bacterial infections in humans.
