Adoptive cell therapy(ACT)is an immunotherapy strategy for cancer that has seen widespread clinical *** ACT,patient-derived lymphocytes are stimulated with the antigen of interest ex vivo,proliferated,then returned to the patient to initiate an antigen-specific antitumor *** effective,this process is resource-intensive and logistically impossible for many *** artificial antigen presenting cells(aAPCs)offer a potential“off-the-shelf”alternative to ex vivo *** particulate aAPCs perform well in vitro,they have had limited success in vivo due to poor bioavailability after *** to bioavailability include rapid clearance,unfavorable biodistribution,and inadequate interactions with CD8+T cells at sites of *** properties such as elasticity have been shown to vastly impact the bioavailability and particle-cell interactions,but this has yet to be investigated in the context of aAPCs for in vivo T-cell *** literature likewise indicates that biomaterial properties,especially elasticity,can modulate T-cell activation in *** the goal of creating a more biomimetic,next-generation particulate aAPC,we developed a poly(ethylene)glycol hydrogel particle platform with tunable elasticity to investigate the impact of elasticity on antigen-specific T cell activation for in vivo adoptive *** this knowledge,we were able to gain more precise control over in vivo T cell activation and investigate possible mechanisms including the effects of aAPC elasticity on T cell binding,macrophage uptake,and the protein corona.

Dermatomyositis (DM) is an inflammatory myopathy of skeletal muscle with characteristic cutaneous *** is a rare disorder with a bimodal age distribution that affects almost twice as many women as *** category of DM, normal-enzyme DM, is characterized by cutaneous changes only at baseline, normal serum muscle enzyme levels and myositis demonstrated by electromyography (EMG) and/or muscle biopsy ***, patients with normal-enzyme DM progress to severe muscle involvement and require systemic corticosteroid *** patient we report has normal-enzyme DM confirmed by serial serum enzymes, EMG, and skin and muscle biopsies but is unique in that she never experienced progression of muscle weakness although muscle involvement was documented histologically and by ***-up examination after 1 year revealed near-complete resolution of cutaneous involvement after topical therapy and no evidence of muscle weakness.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

This work explores the potential of a triple combination of meropenem(MEM),a novel metallo-blactamase(MBL)inhibitor(indole-2-carboxylate 58(InC58)),and a serine-b-lactamase(SBL)inhibitor(avibactam(AVI))for broad-spectrum activity against carbapenemase-producing bacteria.A diverse panel comprising MBL-and SBL-producing strains was used for susceptibility testing of the triple combination using the agar dilution *** frequency of resistance(For)to MEM combined with InC58 was *** were sequenced and tested for cross resistance,fitness,and the stability of the resistance *** with the double combinations of MEM plus an SBL or MBL inhibitor,the triple combination extended the spectrum of activity to most of the isolates bearing SBLs(oxacillinase-48(OXA-48)and Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-2(KPC-2))and MBLs(New Delhi metallo-blactamases(NDMs)),although it was not effective against Verona integron-encoded metallo-blactamase(VIM)-carrying Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***)and OXA-23-carrying Acinetobacter baumannii(***).The For to MEM plus InC58 ranged from 2.22×10^(-7)to 1.13×10^(-6).The resistance correlated with mutations to ompC and comr,affecting porin C and copper permeability,*** mutants manifested a fitness cost,a decreased level of resistance during passage without antibiotic pressure,and cross resistance to another carbapenem(imipenem)and a b-lactamase inhibitor(taniborbactam).In conclusion,compared with the dual combinations,the triple combination of MEM with InC58 and AVI showed a much wider spectrum of activity against different carbapenemaseproducing bacteria,revealing a new strategy to combat b-lactamase-mediated antimicrobial resistance.

Solid Particle resuspension Model Development for the GASFLOW Code

Tons of solid particles, like carbon, beryllium and tungsten with diameters of several to several hundreds microns, would be generated as dusts in vacuum vessel during operation of ITEr, In accident scenarios, e.g., loss of vacuum accident, the potentially combustible dust particles can be suspended by the air ingress and entrained into the whole vessel, and impose a risk of dust explosions to the whole facility. Therefore, the mechanism of particle resuspension was investigated theoretically. A force balance approach and numerical fittings have been utilized to develop a semi-empirical particle resuspension model based on a group of particle resuspension experimental data. The model has been applied into a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics code, GASFLOW. The model validation has been done by comparison of the numerical predictions about particle resuspension rates in given incoming flows against the corresponding experimental data. The comparisons have proved the validity of the developed model.

Early life adversity as a risk factor for cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease

Neurological conditions,including cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease(AD),impose a huge burden on society,affecting millions of people *** addition to genetic factors,recent studies indicate that environmental and experiential factors may contribute to the pathogenesis of these *** life adversity(ELA)has a profound impact on brain function and health later in *** rodent models,exposure to ELA results in specific cognitive deficits and aggravated AD *** concerns have been raised regarding the higher risk of developing cognitive impairments in people with a history of *** this review,we scrutinize findings from human and animal studies focusing on the connection of ELA with cognitive impairment and *** discoveries suggest that ELA,especially at early postnatal stages,increases susceptibility to cognitive impairment and AD later in *** terms of mechanisms,ELA could lead to dysregulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis,altered gut microbiome,persistent inflammation,oligodendrocyte dysfunction,hypomyelination,and aberrant adult hippocampal *** among these events may synergistically contribute to cognitive impairment later in ***,we discuss several interventions that may alleviate adverse consequences of *** investigation into this crucial area will help improve ELA management and reduce the burden of related neurological conditions.

Distribution and mode of occurrence of radionuclides in phosphogypsum derived from Aqaba and Eshidiya Fertilizer Industry,South jordan

Phosphogypsum (PG) is a by-product of the chemical reaction called the "wet process" whereby sul-phuric acid reacts with phosphate rock (Pr) to produce phosphoric acid, needed for fertilizer production. Through the wet process, some impurities naturally present in the Pr become incorporated in PG, including U decay-series radionuclides, are the main important concern which could have an effect on the surrounding environment and pre-vent its safe utilization. In order to determine the distribution and bioavailability of radionuclides to the surrounding environment, we used a sequential leaching of PG samples from Aqaba and Eshidiya fertilizer industry. The results showed that the percentages of 226ra and 210Pb in PG are over those in the corresponding phosphate rocks (PG/Pr), where 85% of the 226ra and 85% of the 210Pb fractionate to PG. The sequential extraction results exhibited that most of 226ra and 210Pb are bound in the residual phase (non-CaSO4) fraction ranging from 45%-65% and 55%-75%, respectively, whereas only 10%-15% and 10%-20% respectively of these radionuclides are distributed in the most labile fraction. The results obtained from this study showed that radionuclides are not incorporated with gypsum itself and may not form a threat to the surrounding environment.

Tunable photocycle kinetics of a hybrid bacteriorhodopsin/quantum dot system

The inclusion of inorganic nanoparticles in biological environments has led to the creation of hybrid nanosystems that are employed in a variety of applications. One such system includes quantum dots (QDs) coupled with the photoactive protein, bacteriorhodopsin (Br), which has been explored in developing enhanced photovoltaic devices. In this work, we have discovered that the kinetics of the Br photocycle can be manipulated using CdSe/CdS (core/shell) QDs. The photocycle lifetime of protein samples with varying QD amounts were monitored using time-resolved absorption spectroscopy. Concentration-dependent elongations of the br and M state lifetimes were observed in the kinetic traces, thus suggesting that excitonic coupling occurs between Br and QDs. We propose that the pairing of Br with QDs has the potential to be utilized in protein-based computing applications, specifically for real-time holographic processors, which depend on the temporal dynamics of the br and M photointermediates.
