Supersonically sprayed self-aligne d rGO nanosheets and ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)nanowires for high-energy and high-power-density supercapacitors

Core-shell-type bimetallic oxide and carbon composites comprising zinc oxide(ZnO)nanospheres and zinc manganese oxide(ZnMn_(2)O_(4))nanowires were produced by a hydrothermal method,and supersoni-cally sprayed together with reduced graphene oxide(rGO)nanosheets onto Ni foil to fabricate flexible *** supersonic impact facilitated the exfoliation of the rGO nanosheets,thereby increasing the surface area and adhesion of the composite particles to the *** rGO nanosheets were vertically aligned during the supersonic impact and formed localized zones,enabling optimal accommodation of the ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)*** localization,with the addition of rGO,reduced the agglomeration of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)*** molar concentration of MnSO_(4)used in the synthesis of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)was varied from 0.05 to 0.15 mol/L to determine the optimal MnSO_(4)concentration that would result in the highest energy storage *** unique nanostructure of ZnO/ZnMn_(2)O_(4)and the self-alignment of rGO sheets facilitated a favorable environment for high energy storage capability with a specific capaci-tance of 276.3 mF·cm^(−2)at a current density of 0.5 mA·cm^(−2)and an energy density of 98.2μWh·cm^(−2)at a power density of 1600μW·cm^(−2).The width of the potential window was increased to 1.2 V,imply-ing a significant increase in the energy storage capability of the *** retention of 88%was achieved after 10,000 charge/discharge cycles for the supercapacitor fabricated using an optimal MnSO_(4)concentration(0.10 mol/L)during the composite synthesis.

Usefulness of colonic tattooing using indocyanine green in patients with colorectal tumors

AIM To prove that tattooing using indocyanine green(ICG) is feasible in laparoscopic surgery for a colon *** From January 2012 to December 2016, all patients who underwent laparoscopic colonic surgery were retrospectively screened, and 1010 patients with colorectal neoplasms were included. Their lesions were tattooed with ICG the day before the operation. The tattooed group(TG) included 114 patients, and the non-tattooed group(NTG) was selected by propensity score matching of subjects based on age, sex, tumor staging, and operation method(n = 228). In total, 342 patients were enrolled. Between the groups, the changes in [Delta(Δ), preoperative-postoperative] the hemoglobin and albumin levels, operation time, hospital stay, oral ingestion period, transfusion, and perioperative complications were compared. RESULTS Preoperative TG had a shorter operation time(174.76 ± 51.6 min vs 192.63 ± 59.9 min, P < 0.01), hospital stay(9.55 ± 3.36 d vs 11.42 ± 8.23 d, P < 0.01), and postoperative oral ingestion period(1.58 ± 0.96 d vs 2.81 ± 1.90 d, P < 0.01). The Δ hemoglobin(0.78 ± 0.76 g/dL vs 2.2 ± 1.18 g/dL, P < 0.01) and Δ albumin(0.41 ± 0.44 g/dL vs 1.08 ± 0.39 g/dL, P < 0.01) levels were lower in the TG. On comparison of patients in the "N0" and "N1 or N2" groups, the N0 colon cancer group had a better operation time, length of hospital stay, oral ingestion period, Δ hemoglobin, and Δ albumin results than those of the N1 or N2 group. The operation methods affected the results, and laparoscopic anterior resection(LAR) showed similar results. However, for left and right hemicolectomy, both groups showed no difference in operation time or hospital *** Preoperative tattooing with ICG is useful for laparoscopic colectomy, especially in the N0 colon cancer group and LAR.

We demonstrate a new type of multifocal and extended depth of focus(EDOF)intraocular lenses(IOLs)embeddingμm-thin geometric phase(GP)lens *** an emerging approach for lens phase design,the GP modulated IOLs outperform conventional diffractive IOLs in multifocality while completely avoiding the clinically undesirable demand for additional surface patterns to standard monofocal IOL *** number of foci and light splitting ratio of the GP IOLs are adjusted by changing the number of stacked GP layers and the thickness of each *** and trifocal GP IOLs are fabricated by radial alignment of anisotropic orientation in UV-curable liquid crystal *** characterizing the defocus image and modulation transfer function of the GP IOLs,it is expected that GP IOLs will alleviate the most common problems associated with multifocal and EDOF IOLs,blurred vision and photic phenomena caused by light scattering and posterior capsule opacification.

Size-dependent transition of the deformation behavior of Au nanowires

Inspired by the controversy over tensile deformation modes of single-crystalline 〈110〉/{111} Au nanowires, we investigated the dependency of the deformation mode on diameters of nanowires using the molecular dynamics technique. A new criterion for assessing the preferred deformation mode-slip or twin propagation--of nanowires as a function of nanowire diameter is presented. The results demonstrate the size-dependent transition, from superplastic deformation mediated by twin propagation to the rupture by localized slips in deformed region as the nanowire diameter decreases. Moreover, the criterion was successfully applied to explain the superplastic deformation of Cu nanowires.

Dual ion storage hybrid supercapacitors(HsCs)are considered as a promising device to overcome the limited energy density of existing supercapacitors while preserving high power and long ***,the development of high-capacity anion-storing materials,which can be paired with fast charg-ing capacitive electrodes,lags behind cation-storing ***,we demonstrate the surface faradaic OH-storage mechanism of anion storing perovskite oxide composites and their application in high-performance dual ion *** oxygen vacancy and nanoparticle size of the reduced LaMnO_(3)(r-LaMnO_(3))were controlled,while r-LaMnO_(3) was chemically coupled with ozonated carbon nanotubes(oCNTs)for the improved anion storing capacity and cycle *** taken by in-situ and ex-situ spectroscopic and computational analyses,OH-ions are inserted into the oxygen vacancies coordi-nating with octahedral Mn with the increase in the oxidation state of Mn during the charging process or vice *** OH-storing r-LaMnO_(3)/oCNT composite with Na*storing MXene,the as-fabricated aqueous dual ion HSCs achieved the cycle performance of 73.3%over 10,000 cycles,delivering the max-imum energy and power densities of 47.5 w h kg^(-1) and 8 kw kg^(-1),respectively,far exceeding those of previously reported aqueous anion and dual ion storage *** research establishes a foundation for the unique anion storage mechanism of the defect engineered perovskite oxides and the advancement of dual ion hybrid energy storage devices with high energy and power densities.

Prediction of the indication criteria for endoscopic resection of early gastric cancer

AIM: To find risk factors of lymph node metastasis(LNM) in early gastric cancer(EGC) and to find proper endoscopic therapy indication in ***: We retrospectively reviewed the 2270 patients who underwent curative operation for EGC from January 2001 to December 2008. EGC was defined as malignant lesions that do not invade beyond the submucosal layer of the stomach wall irrespective of presence of lymph node ***: Among 2270 enrolled patients, LNM was observed in 217(9%) patients. LNM in intramucosal(M) cancer and submucosal(SM) cancer was detectedin 3 8( 2. 8 %, 3 8 / 1 3 4 0) patients and 1 7 9(19%, 179/930) patients, respectively. In univariate analysis, the risk factors for LNM in EGC were size of tumor, Lauren classification, ulcer, lymphatic invasion, vascular invasion, and depth of invasion. However, in multivariate analysis, size of tumor, lymphatic invasion, vascular invasion, and depth of invasion were risk factors for LNM in EGC. Size of tumor, lymphatic invasion, vascular invasion, and depth of invasion were risk factors for LNM in cases of intramucosal cancer and submucosal cancer. In particular, there was no lymph node metastasis in cases of well differentiated early gastric cancer below 1 cm in size without ulcer regardless of lymphovascular ***: Tumor size, perilymphatic-vascular invasion, and depth of invasion were risk factors for LNM in EGC. There was no LNM in EGC below 1 cmregardless risk factors.

Influences of diel and tidal cycles on fish assemblage in eelgrass(Zostera marina) bed of southern Korea during autumn

Short-term tidal and diel variations of autumn fish assemblage in a Zostera marina bed were investigated using 3 h interval samplings for 24 h in both spring and neap tide using a small beam trawl.A total of 1 346 fishes belonging to 19 species were collected at spring tide,whereas 1 115 fishes belonging to 17 species were at neap *** common fish species were Nuchequula nuchalis,Acanthogobius flavimanus,Takifugu niphobles,Acentrogobius pflaumii,and Pholis nebulosa with the former three species dominating at spring tide,while the latter two species being abundant at neap *** variation in abundance was significant with higher abundance at night than day,but there were no significant differences between spring and neap tides,and between ebb and flood tides（three-way ANOVAs）.Diel variation in the abundance of fishes may be influenced by tidal range and cycle,and day-night differences of food availability and behaviors of fishes ***-metric multidimensional scaling（n MDS） ordination and analysis of similarity（ANOSIM） results revealed significant differences in species compositions both between day and night,and between spring and neap *** beds are highly productive marine ecosystem,and thus,our results will contribute to conservation of seagrass ecosystem in the study area.
