Most organic electrode materials （OEMs） for rech.rgeable batteries employ n-type redox centers, whose redox potentials are intrinsically limited ch.mical window of typical ***, we report 5,11-diethyl-5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole （DEICZ） as a novel p-type OEM, exhibiting stable plateaus at high disch.rge potentials of3.44 and 4.09 V versus Li+/Li. Notably, the second redox potential of DEICZ is within the stable electroch.mical window. The mech.nism of the double redox reaction is investigated using both theoretical calculations and experimental measurements, including density functional theory calculations, ex situ electron spin resonance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Finally,hybridization with single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWCNT） improves the cycle stability and rate performance of DEICZ owing to theπ–πinteractions between the SWCNT and co-planar molecular structure of DEICZ, preventing the dissolution of active materials into the electrolyte. The DEICZ/SWCNT composite electrode maintains 70.4%of its initial specific capacity at 1-C rate and also exhibits high-rate capability, even performing well at 100-C rate.

The layeredδ-MnO_(2)(dMO)is an excellent cathode material for rech.rgeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries owing to its large interlayer distance(~0.7 nm),high capacity,and low cost;however,such.cathodes suffer from structural degradation during the long-term cycling process,leading to capacity *** this study,a Co-doped dMO composite with reduced graphene oxide(GC-dMO)is developed using a simple cost-effective hydrothermal *** degree of disorderness increases owing to the hetero-atom doping and graphene oxide *** is demonstrated that layered dMO and GC-dMO undergo a structural transition from K-birnessite to the Zn-buserite phase upon the first disch.rge,which.enhances the intercalation of Zn^(2+)ions,H_(2)O molecules in the layered *** GC-dMO cathode exhibits an excellent capacity of 302 mAh g^(-1)at a current density of 100 mAg^(-1)after 100 cycles as compared with the dMO cathode(159 mAhg^(-1)).The excellent electroch.mical performance of the GC-dMO cathode owing to Co-doping and graphene oxide sheets enhances the interlayer gap and disorderness,and maintains structural stability,which.facilitates the easy reverse intercalation and de-intercalation of Zn^(2+)ions and H_(2)O ***,GC-dMO is a promising cathode material for large-scale aqueous ZIBs.

Adaptive multicolor filters have emerged as key components for ensuring color accuracy and resolution in outdoor visual ***,the current state of this tech.ology is still in its infancy and largely reliant on liquid crystal devices that require high voltage and bulky structural ***,we present a multicolor nanofilter consisting of multilayered‘active’plasmonic nanocomposites,wherein metallic nanoparticles are embedded within a conductive polymer *** nanocomposites are fabricated with a total thickness below 100 nm using a‘lithography-free’method at the wafer level,and they inherently exhibit three prominent optical modes,accompanying scattering phenomena that produce distinct dich.oic reflection and transmission ***,a pivotal ach.evement is that all these colors are electrically manipulated with an applied external voltage of less than 1 V with 3.5 s of switch.ng speed,encompassing the entire visible ***,this electrically programmable multicolor function enables the effective and dynamic modulation of the color temperature of white light across the warm-to-cool spectrum(3250 K-6250 K).This transformative capability is exceptionally valuable for enhancing the performance of outdoor optical devices that are independent of factors such.as the sun’s elevation and prevailing weather conditions.

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)have drawn significant attention owing to their high theoretical disch.rge capacity and energy ***,the dissolution of long-ch.in polysulfides into the electrolyte during the ch.rge and disch.rge process(“shuttle effect”)results in fast capacity fading and inferior electroch.mical *** this study,Mn_(2)O_(3)with an ordered mesoporous structure(OM-Mn_(2)O_(3))was designed as a cathode host for LSBs via KIT-6 hard templating,to effectively inhibit the polysulfide shuttle ***-Mn_(2)O_(3)offers numerous pores to confine sulfur and tightly anch.r the dissolved polysulfides through the combined effects of strong polar-polar interactions,polysulfides,and sulfur ch.in *** OM-Mn_(2)O_(3)/S composite electrode delivered a disch.rge capacity of 561 mAh g^(-1) after 250 cycles at 0.5 C owing to the excellent performance of OM-Mn_(2)O_(3).Furthermore,it retained a disch.rge capacity of 628mA h g^(-1) even at a rate of 2 C,which.was significantly higher than that of a pristine sulfur electrode(206mA h g^(-1)).These findings provide a prospective strategy for designing cathode materials for high-performance LSBs.

Mixed-dimensional composite structures using zero-dimensional(0D)quantum dots(QDs)and two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dich.lcogenides(TMDs)materials are expected to attract great interest in optoelectronics due to the potential to generate new optical ***,we report on the unique optical ch.racteristics of a devices with mixed dimensional vertically stacked structures based on tungsten diselenide(WSe_(2))/CdSeS QDs monolayer/molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))(2D/0D/2D).Specifically,it exhibits an ambipolar photoresponse ch.racteristic,with a negative photoresponse observed in the 400-600 nm wavelength range and a positive photoresponse appeared at 700 nm *** resulted in the high negative responsivity of up to 52.22 mA·W^(−1)under 400 nm,which.is 163 times higher than that of the photodetector without CdSeS *** also demonstrated the negative photoresponse,which.could be due to increased carrier collision probability and non-radiative *** modeling and simulation reveal that Auger recombination among the types of non-radiative recombination is the main cause of negative photocurrent ***,we discovered ambipolar photoresponse near a specific wavelength corresponding to the energy of quantum *** study revealed interesting phenomenon in the mixed low-dimensional stacked structure and paved the way to exploit it for the development of innovative photodetection materials as well as for optoelectronic applications.

Background:Acute lateral ankle sprains(ALAS)are associated with long-term impairments and instability tied to altered neural *** muscle inhibition(AMI)has been observed in this population;however,relationships with injury-related impairments are unclear,potentially due to the resting,prone position in which.AMI is typically *** AMI during bipedal stance may provide a better understanding of this ***:AMI was assessed in 38 young adults(19 ALAS within 72 h of injury:10 males,21.4±2.7 years;19 healthy controls:10 males,21.9±2.2 years;mean±SD)using the Hoffmann reflex(H-reflex)during bipedal *** stimulation was administered to identify the _(max)imal H-reflex(H_(max))and _(max)imal motor response(M_(max))from the soleus,fibularis longus,and tibialis anterior *** primary outcome measure was the H_(max)/M_(max) *** outcomes included acute symptoms(pain and swelling),postural control during bipedal stance,and self-reported ***:No significant group-by-limb interactions were observed for any ***,a significant group main effect was observed in the soleus muscle(F(1,35)=6.82,p=0.013),indicating significantly lower H_(max)/M_(max) ratios following ALAS(0.38±0.20)compared to healthy controls(0.53±0.16).Furthermore,lower H_(max)/M_(max) ratios in the soleus significantly correlated with acute symptoms and self-reported function but not with postural ***:This study supports previous evidence of AMI in patients with ALAS,providing insight into neurophysiologic impacts of musculoskeletal *** results suggest that assessing AMI in a standing position following acute injury may provide valuable insight into how AMI develops and guide potential therapeutic options to curb and offset the formation of joint instability.

Exposure to persistent organic pollutants(POPs)has been reported as a potential risk factor for diabetes in ***,effect modifications by sex and age,especially among Asian populations,have seldom been *** the present study,we assessed associations of major POPs exposure including organoch.orine pesticides(OCPs),polych.orinated biphenyls(PCBs),and polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs),with diabetes in Korean adults(n=1,295),a subset of the Korean National Environmental Health Survey(KoNEHS)Cycle 3(2015−2017).In the adult population,serum levels of dich.orodiphenyltrich.oroethanes(DDTs)and PCB167 showed an increased odds ratio(OR)for *** stratified by gender,associations became stronger and more consistent in women:In women,serum levels of OCPs including p,p′-DDT,p,p′-dich.orodiphenyldich.oroethylene(p,p′-DDE),andΣOCPs and mono-ortho PCBs,such.as PCB118 and PCB157,were significantly associated with *** the male participants,however,no significant positive associations were *** stratified by a cutoff age of 50 years,most studied POPs except PBDEs,i.e.,p,p′-DDT,p,p′-DDE,PCB118,PCB157,PCB167,PCB138,and PCB153,showed significant associations with diabetes,in the older *** the younger group,however,no measured POPs showed a significant positive *** of endogenous sex hormones or interaction of POPs on aryl hydrocarbon receptors may partly explain the observed differences by gender and age,although further experimental confirmations should *** findings show that POPs exposure at the current levels is associated with diabetes among general Korean adults,and such.associations could be modified by gender and age.
