Evaluation of accuracy of linear regression models in predicting urban stormwater discharge characteristics

Stormwater runoff has been identified as a source of pollution for the environment, especially for receiving waters. In order to quantify and manage the impacts of stormwater runoff on the environment, predictive models and mathematical models have been developed. Predictive tools such as regression models have been widely used to predict stormwater discharge characteristics. Storm event characteristics, such as antecedent dry days （ADD）, have been related to response variables, such as pollutant loads and concentrations. However it has been a controversial issue among many studies to consider ADD as an important variable in predicting stormwater discharge characteristics. In this study, we examined the accuracy of general linear regression models in predicting discharge characteristics of roadway runoff. A total of 17 storm events were monitored in two highway segments, located in Gwangju, Korea. Data from the monitoring were used to calibrate United States Environmental Protection Agency＇s Storm Water Management Model （SWMM）. The calibrated SWMM was simulated for 55 storm events, and the results of total suspended solid （TSS） discharge loads and event mean concentrations （EMC） were extracted. From these data, linear regression models were developed. R2 and p-values of the regression of ADD for both TSS loads and EMCs were investigated. Results showed that pollutant loads were better predicted than pollutant EMC in the multiple regression models. Regression may not provide the true effect of site-specific characteristics, due to uncertainty in the data.

Specific grades of high-entropy alloys(HEAs)can provide opportunities for optimizing properties toward high-temperature *** this work,the Co-based HEA with a chemical composition of Co_(47.5)Cr_(30)Fe_(7.5)Mn_(7.5)Ni_(7.5)(at%)was *** refractory metallic elements hafnium(Hf)and molybdenum(Mo)were added in small amounts(1.5at%)because of their well-known positive effects on high-temperature *** characteristics were comprehensively explored by using a two-dimensional cross-sectional method and extracted by using a three-dimensional electrolytic extraction *** results revealed that the addition of Hf can reduce Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions and lead to the formation of more stable Hf-rich inclusions as the main *** addition cannot influence the inclusion type but could influence the inclusion characteristics by affecting the physical parameters of the HEA *** calculated coagulation coefficient and collision rate of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions were higher than those of HfO_(2)inclusions,but the inclusion amount played a larger role in the agglomeration behavior of HfO_(2)and Al_(2)O_(3)*** impurity level and active elements in HEAs were the crucial factors affecting inclusion formation.

The latest publications regarding the development of technology to control inclusion compositions focusing on MgO?Al2O3 spinel inclusions were summarized in this review article. The problems caused by spinel inclusions, which affect practice as well as products were shown. The formation mechanism of MgO?Al2O3 spinel inclusions is secondly explained thermodynamically from the view points of chemistries of molten steels and slag compositions. Furthermore, crystallization behaviour of spinel was introduced. Countermeasures conducted in practices and laboratories were shown along with some problems still left that should be solved in the future.

Multicomponent metal sulfide materials with a yolk–shell structure and a single phase were studied for the first time as anode materials for sodium-ion batteries. Yolk–shell-structured Fe–Ni–O powders with a molar ratio of iron and nickel components of 1/1 were prepared via one-pot spray pyrolysis. The prepared Fe–Ni–O powders were transformed into yolk–shell-structured (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 solid-solution powders via a sulfidation process. The initial discharge and charge capacities of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders at a current density of 1 A·g−1 were 601 and 504 mA·h·g−1, respectively. The discharge capacities of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders for the 2nd and 100th cycle were 530 and 527 mA·h·g−1, respectively, and their corresponding capacity retention measured from the 2nd cycle was 99%. The (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders had high initial discharge and charge capacities at a low current density of 0.1 A·g−1, and the reversible discharge capacity decreased slightly from 568 to 465 mA·h·g−1 as the current density increased from 0.1 to 5.0 A·g−1. The synergetic effect of the novel yolk–shell structure and the multicomponent sulfide composition of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders resulted in excellent sodium-ion storage performance.

Acquiring reliable microstructure datasets is a pivotal step toward the systematic design of materials with the aid of integrated computational materials engineering(ICME)***,obtaining three-dimensional(3D)microstructure datasets is often challenging due to high experimental costs or technical limitations,while acquiring two-dimensional(2D)micrographs is comparatively *** deal with this issue,this study proposes a novel framework called‘Micro3Diff’for 2D-to-3D reconstruction of microstructures using diffusion-based generative models(DGMs).Specifically,this approach solely requires pre-trained DGMs for the generation of 2D samples,and dimensionality expansion(2D-to-3D)takes place only during the generation process(i.e.,reverse diffusion process).

Background:Although aseptic meningitis associated with echovirus type 30 has emerged as a global public health concern,no data have been reported on children's immune status against echovirus type *** current study aimed to investigate the seropositivity among Korean children for antibodies against echovirus ***:Two hundred and fifty residual serum samples were collected at ***'s *** were categorized by age into four groups:group 1 (3 months-2 years),group 2 (3-6 years),group 3 (7-10 years) and group 4 (11-15 years).Neutralizing antibodies against echovirus 30 were ***:Seroprotective neutralizing antibodies against echovirus 30 were detected in 129 (49%) *** rates were 23%,48%,55% and 73% in groups 1-4,*** antibody titers,1:256-1:512 was the highest neutralizing antibody titer range in group 2,while 1:1024-1:2048 in group 3 and *** the seropositive individuals in group 3 and 4,6% and 12% had neutralizing antibody titers of 1:2048,***:The seropositivity rate increased significantly with age..The distribution of neutralizing antibody titers varied by age group,and higher ranges of neutralizing antibody titers were observed in higher age *** findings suggest high susceptibility to echovirus 30 infection in children younger than 2 years *** 30 infection in childhood may have contributed to increased neutralizing antibody titers with age.

Quercetin is a biologically active flavonoid that has been used as a popular health *** is reported that quercetin may cause flavonoid-drug interaction mediated by P-glycoprotein,the most predominant efflux *** this study,we comprehensively evaluated the potential of the pharmacokinetic interaction of quercetin mediated by multidrug resistance-associated protein 2(MRP2),another major efflux ***2-transfected MDCKII cells and LS174T cells were used to evaluate the potential inhibition and induction of MRP2 by quercetin in *** evaluate the induction effect of quercetin on Mrp2 in vivo,Mrp2 mRNA expression in rat liver,kidney,and small intestinal tissues was determined after the oral administration of quercetin(50,100,or 250 mg/kg)for seven ***2-mediated interaction potential was also evaluated by the pharmacokinetic study of phenolsulfonphthalein in rats after single or multiple doses of ***,the effect of quercetin on absorption of docetaxel,a P-glycoprotein and CYP3A4 substrate,was also *** inhibited the function of MRP2 at 10μM and induced the mRNA expression of MRP2 at 50μM in ***,at 100 mg/kg,quercetin markedly increased Mrp2 expression in the small intestine of ***,there was no significant change in phenolsulfonphthalein pharmacokinetics due to single-(50,100,or 250 mg/kg)or multiple-dose(50,100,or 250 mg/kg for seven days)quercetin *** contrast,a significant interaction caused by quercetin(100 mg/kg)was observed in the absorption of *** results suggested that although quercetin modulates the function and expression of MRP2 in vitro,it may have a low potential of Mrp2-mediated interaction and present negligible safety concerns related to the interaction.

In combination with theoretical calculations,experiments were conducted to investigate the evolution behavior of nonmetallic inclusions(NMIs)during the manufacture of large-scale heat-resistant steel ingots using 9CrMoCoB heat-resistant steel and CaF_(2)–CaO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–B_(2)O_(3)electroslag remelting(ESR)-type slag in an 80-t industrial ESR *** main types of NMI in the consumable electrode comprised pure alumina,a multiphase oxide consisting of an Al_(2)O_(3)core and liquid CaO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–MnO shell,and M_(23)C_(6)carbides with an MnS *** Al_(2)O_(3)and MnS inclusions had higher precipitation temperatures than the M_(23)C_(6)-type carbide under equilibrium and nonequilibrium solidification ***,inclusions can act as nucleation sites for carbide layer *** ESR process completely removed the liquid CaO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–MnO oxide and MnS inclusion with a carbide shell,and only the Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions and Al_(2)O_(3)core with a carbide shell occupied the remelted *** M_(23)C_(6)-type carbides in steel were determined as Cr_(23)C_(6)based on the analysis of transmission electron microscopy *** substitution of Cr with W,Fe,or/and Mo in the Cr_(23)C_(6)lattice caused slight changes in the lattice parameter of the Cr_(23)C_(6)***,Cr_(21.34)Fe_(1.66)C_(6),(Cr_(19)W_(4)C_(6),Cr_(18.4)Mo_(4.6)C_(6),and Cr_(16)Fe_(5)Mo_(2)C_(6)can match the fraction pattern of Cr_(23)C_(6)*** Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions in the remelted ingot formed due to the reduction of CaO,SiO_(2),and MnO components in the liquid *** increased Al content in liquid steel or the higher supersaturation degree of Al_(2)O_(3)precipitation in the remelted ingot than that in the electrode can be attributed to the evaporation of CaF_(2)and the increase in CaO content in the ESR-type slag.

BACKGROUND Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration(EBUS-TBNA)is a safe and minimally invasive diagnostic tool for mediastinal and hilum ***,infectious complications may occur after *** these,mediastinitis and pericarditis are *** SUMMARY A 67-year-old woman was referred to our hospital due to paratracheal lymph node enlargement on chest computed tomography(CT).EBUS-TBNA was performed on the lymph node lesions,and prophylactic oral antibiotics were *** days after EBUS-TBNA,the patient visited the emergency room with a high fever and chest *** test results revealed leukocytosis with a left shift and elevated C-reactive protein level(25.7 mg/dL).Chest CT revealed the formation of a mediastinal abscess in the right paratracheal lymph node and pericardial and bilateral pleural *** patient received intravenous antibiotic treatment,cardiac drainage through pericardiocentesis,and surgical *** patient recovered favorably and was discharged 31 d after the *** Mediastinitis and pericarditis after EBUS-TBNA are rare but should be considered even after the use of prophylactic antibiotics.
