Syntheses of Fe-Ni Magnetic Nanoparticles and Their Applications on Biologic Labeling

In this study,we compared FeNi alloy magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) prepared by either combustion or chemical precipitation *** found that the FeNi MNPs generated by combustion method have a rather high saturation magnetization Ms of ～180 emu/g and a coercivity field Hc of near ***,the alloy nanoparticles are easily aggregated and are not well dispersive such that size distribution of the nanoparticle clusters is wide and clusters are rather big(around 50～700 nm).To prepare a better quality and well dispersed Fe-Ni MNPs,we also developed a thermal reflux chemical precipitation method to synthesize FeNi3 alloy *** precursor chemicals of Fe(acac)3 and Ni(acac)2 in a molecular ratio of 1:3 reacted in octyl ether solvent at the boiling point of solvent(～300 ℃) by the thermal reflux *** 1,2-hexadecandiol and tri-n-octylphosphine oxide(TOPO) were used as reducer and surfactant,*** chemically precipitated FeNi3 MNPs are well dispersed and have well-controlled particle sizes around 10～20 nm with a very narrow size distribution(±1.2 nm).The highly monodispersive FeNi3 MNPs present good uniformity in particle shape and crystallinity on particle *** MNPs exhibit well soft magnetism with saturation magnetization of ～61 emu/g and Hc～*** biomedically compatible FeNi MNPs which were coated with biocompatible polyethyleneimine(PEI) polymer were also *** demonstrated that the PEI coated FeNi MNPs can enter the mammalian cells in vitro and can be used as a magnetic resonance imagine(MRI) contrast *** results demonstrated that FeNi MNPs potentially could be applied in the biomedical *** functionalized magnetic beads with biocompatible polymer coated on MNPs are also completed for biomedical applications.

In this study, we compared FeNi alloy magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) prepared by either combustion or chemical precipitation methods. We found that the FeNi MNPs generated by combustion method have a rather high saturation magnetization Ms of -180 emu/g and a coercivity field Hc of near zero. The precursor chemicals of Fe(acac)3 and Ni(acac)2 in a molecular ratio of 1:3 reacted in octyl ether solvent at the boiling point of solvent (00 ℃) by the thermal reflux process. The 1,2-hexadecandiol and tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) were used as reducer and surfactant, respectively. The chemically precipitated FeNi3 MNPs are well dispersed and have well-controlled particle sizes around 10-20 nm with a very narrow size distribution (±1.2 nm). The highly monodispersive FeNi3 NPs present good uniformity in particle shape and crystallinity on particle surfaces. The MNPs exhibit well soft magnetism with saturation magnetization of -61 emu/g and Hc. The biomedical compatible FeNi MNPs which were coated with biocompatible polyethyleneimine (PEI) polymer were also synthesized. We demonstrated that the PEI coated FeNi MNPs can enter the mammalian cells in vitro and can be used as a magnetic resonance imagine (MRI) contrast agent. The results demonstrated that FeNi MNPs potentially could be applied in the biomedical field. The functionalized magnetic beads with biocompatible polymer coated on MNPs are also completed for biomedical applications.

Conjugate Heat Transfer for Free Convection along a Vertical Plate Fin

In this study,a new and effective improved Semi-Analytic and Semi-Empirical formula f(Pr)= (0.749999437Pr^(1/2))/((0.609+1.221Pr^(1/2)+1.238Pr)^(1/4))has been proposed to solve a conjugate problem with free convection in the incompressible laminar boundary layer flow and heat conduction in a solid wall for the flow passing a flat plate fin. A combination of flat-plate flow and flat-plate fin heat conduction has been considered in the present *** -difference solutions for the interface temperature profiles and the heat transfer rates have been presented over the entire thermo-fluid-dynamic field for Prandtl numbers from 0.001 to ***,the similar flow field has been solved by the Runge-Kutta method and the shooting methods,then the correlation equation of the local heat transfer coefficient have been ***,the empirical formula has been substituted into the fin temperature heat conduction calculation processes to obtain the iterative solutions of the conjugate problems.

Efficient and simple synthesis of B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites assisted by deep eutectic solvent for production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from glucose

The catalytic conversion of glucose to high valueadded platform chemical 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)is a promising biorefinery process,and alumina-boria catalysts are considered to be green and mild solid acid catalysts for this catalytic ***,compared to the common synthesis methods with complicated steps,we reported a simple and efficient strategy to prepare B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites by calcining cost-effective glucose-urea deep eutectic solvent(DES)solution containing the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites exhibited an open three-dimensional skeleton and two-dimensional porous lamellar substructure,endowing them with a high specific surface area(228.27 m2/g).The introduction of boron changed the ratios of different aluminum species(AlⅣ,AlⅤ,and AlⅥ)and borate species(BO3 and BO4),thus further affecting the acidity and the types of acid sites of the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)bifunctional acid catalysts possessing abundant Lewis acid sites and adjustable Brønsted acid sites showed complete glucose conversion and 55.38%of HMF yield under the optimum *** study proposed a concise method to synthesize alumina-boria solid acid catalysts assisted by glucose-urea *** hope to extend the application and prospect of this efficient and simple synthesis strategy.

Prominent cycling reversibility and kinetics enabled by CaTiO3 protective layer on Zn metal for aqueous Zn-ion batteries

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

Sonographic fatty liver and hepatitis B virus carrier status: Synergistic effect on liver damage in Taiwan Residents adults

AIM: To examine the epidemiology of hepatitis B virus carrier status (HBVC) and sonographic fatty liver (SFL) in Taiwan Residents adults, and to evaluate their possible interaction in inducing liver damage (LD). From an epidemiological viewpoint, we analyzed previous studies which indicated that fatty liver sensitizes host immune response to HBV infection and enhances liver ***: A cross-sectional retrospective analysis of health records including medical history, physical examination, abdominal sonogram, blood biochemistry and hepatic virological tests. We utilized the Student's t-test, chi-square, multivariate logistic regression and synergy index to assess risks for ***: Among a total of 5406 Taiwan Residents adults (mean age 46.2 years, 51.5% males), the prevalence of LD, HBVC and SFL were 12.3%, 15.1% and 33.4%, respectively; 5.1% of participants had SFL plus HBVC. Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that male gender (odds ratio (OR) = 2.8, 95% confidence interval (CI): 2.3-3.5), overweight state (OR = 1.6, 95% CI: 1.3-2.0), HBVC (OR = 2.5, 95% CI: 2.0-3.1) and SFL (OR = 4.2, 95% CI: 2.2-5.3) were independently associated with LD. Synergism analysis showed that the adjusted OR for LD in adults with HBVC-alone was 3.3 (95% CI: 2.4-4.6), SFL-alone, 4.7 (95% CI: 3.7-6.1) and combined HBVC and SFL, 9.5 (95% CI: 6.8-13.3); the synergy index was 1.4 (95% CI: 1.001-2.0).CONCLUSION: In Taiwan Residents adults, SFL plus HBVC have a significant synergistic association with LD.
