Here we introdu.e bismu.h-based catalysts for the efficient electrochemical redu.tion of CO_(2)to formic acid(HCOOH),which are composed of petal-shaped Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)(BOC)that spontaneou.ly formed from Bi thin film in aqu.ou. carbonate solu.ion at room *** the electrochemical redu.tion process,the BOC petals transform to redu.ed BOC(R-BOC)consisting of individu.l BOC and Bi *** mismatch between both domains indu.es biaxial strain at the *** fu.ctional theory calcu.ations su.gest that the tensile strain on the Bi domain stabilizes the*OCHO intermediate,redu.ing the thermodynamic barrier toward CO_(2)conversion to *** with the thermodynamic benefit and the u.iqu. nanoporou. petal-shaped morphology,R-BOC petals have a su.erior Faradaic efficiency of 95.9%at-0.8 V_(RHE)for the electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)to *** work demonstrates that the spontaneou.ly formed binary phases with desirable lattice strain can increase the activity of bismu.h catalysts to the CO_(2)redu.tion reaction;su.h a strategy can be applicable in design of variou. electrocatalysts.

The application of Li metal anodes in rechargeable batteries is impeded by safety issu.s arising from the severe volu.e changes and formation of dendritic Li ***‐dimensional hollow carbon is receiving increasing attention as a host material capable of accommodating Li metal inside its cavity;however,u.controllable and nonu.iform deposition of Li remains a *** this stu.y,we synthesize metal–organic framework‐derived carbon microcapsu.es with heteroatom clu.ters(Zn and Ag)on the capsu.e walls and it is demonstrated that Ag‐assisted nu.leation of Li metal alters the ou.ward‐to‐inward growth in the microcapsu.e ***‐incorporated microcapsu.es are prepared via chemical etching of zeolitic imidazole framework‐8 polyhedra and are su.sequ.ntly decorated with Ag by a galvanic displacement reaction between Ag^(+)and metallic *** introdu.ed Ag significantly redu.es the energy barrier and increases the reaction rate for Li nu.leation in the microcapsu.e host u.on Li *** combined electrochemical,microstru.tu.al,and compu.ational stu.ies,we verify the beneficial role of Ag‐assisted Li nu.leation in facilitating inward growth inside the cavity of the microcapsu.e host and,in tu.n,enhancing electrochemical *** stu.y provides new insights into the design of reversible host materials for practical Li metal batteries.

Single-ion condu.tors based on covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have garnered attention as a potential alternative to cu.rently prevalent inorganic ion condu.tors owing to their stru.tu.al u.iqu.ness and chemical ***,the slu.gish Li+condu.tion has hindered their practical ***,we present a class of solvent-free COF single-ion condu.tors(Li-COF@P)based on weak ion-dipole interaction as opposed to traditional strong ion-ion *** ion(Li+from the COF)-dipole(oxygen from poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate embedded in the COF pores)interaction in the Li-COF@P promotes ion dissociation and Li+migration via directional ionic *** by this single-ion transport behavior,the Li-COF@P enables reversible Li plating/stripping on Li-metal electrodes and stable cycling performance(88.3%after 2000 cycles)in organic batteries(Li metal anode||5,5’-dimethyl-2,2’-bis-p-benzoqu.none(Me2BBQ)cathode)u.der ambient operating conditions,highlighting the electrochemical viability of the Li-COF@P for all-solid-state organic batteries.

We present an azimu.hal-rotation-controlled dynamic nanoinscribing(ARC-DNI)process for continu.u. and scalable fabrication of asymmetric nanograting stru.tu.es with tu.able periods and shape profiles.A sliced edge of a nanograting mold,which typically has a rectangu.ar grating profile,slides over a polymeric su.strate to indu.e its bu.rfree plastic deformation into a linear *** this continu.u. nanoinscribing process,the“azimu.hal angle,”that is,the angle between the moving direction of the polymeric su.strate and the mold’s grating line orientation,can be controlled to tailor the period,geometrical shape,and profile of the inscribed *** modu.ating the azimu.hal angle,along with other important ARC-DNI parameters su.h as temperatu.e,force,and inscribing speed,we demonstrate that the mold-opening profile and temperatu.e-and time-dependent viscoelastic polymer reflow can be controlled to fabricate asymmetric,blazed,and slanted nanogratings that have diverse geometrical profiles su.h as trapezoidal,triangu.ar,and ***,period-and profile-tu.able ARC-DNI can be u.ilized for the practical fabrication of diverse optical devices,as is exemplified by asymmetric diffractive optical elements in this stu.y.
