Characterizing pressure fluctuation into single-loop oscillating heat pipe

The pressure characteristics inside single loop oscillating heat pipe （OHP） having 4.5 mm inner diameter copper tube with the loop height of 440 mm were addressed. Distilled water was used as working fluid inside the OHP with different filling ratios of 40%, 60% and 80% of total inside volume. Experimental results show that the thermal characteristics are significantly inter-related with pressure fluctuations as well as pressure frequency. And the pressure frequency also depends upon the evaporator temperature that is maintained in the range of 60-96 ℃. Piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor （Model-Kistler 4045A5） was used to take data. The investigation shows that the filling ratio of 60% gives the highest inside pressure magnitude at maximum number of pressure frequency at any of set evaporator temperature and the lowest heat flow resistance is achieved at 60% filling ratio.

Multistage centrifugal impellers with four different skew angles were investigated by using computational fluid *** purpose of this work is to investigate the influences of lean angle at the blade tip of the impeller *** variations of lean angles,that is,8°,10°,15° and 20°,were made at first stage *** Average Navier Stokes equation was used in simulation together with a shear?stress transport(SST) k-w turbulence model and mixing-plane approach,*** dimensional fluid flows were simplified using periodic model to reduce the computational cost and time required.A good performance was expected that the secondary flow can be effectively reduced in the flow passage of the impeller without excessive increase in manufacturing cost caused by the secondary *** results show that secondary flow affects the main flow intricately to form vortices or having non-uniform velocity in the flow passage,which in turn results in substantial fluid energy loss not only in the impeller but also in the guide vane downstream of *** numerical solutions were performed and allowed the optimum design and operating conditions to be obtained.

In this study,mechanical characteristics of tensile strength ratio(TSR)were evaluated by comparing it to other methods in evaluating moisture sensitivity of asphalt *** types of asphalt mixtures with and without anti-stripping additives were prepared and tested in the *** compressive strength(UCS)and indirect tensile(IDT)testing were conducted to determine the mixture’s tensile strength ratio and cohesion ratio(CR).Determining TSR alone was found to be insufficient when evaluating moisture *** is a need to consider both TSR and wet IDT strength to properly evaluate moisture behavior of asphalt ***,it was found that the cohesion and the IDT strength have a good relation in which the minimum condition of the slope,must be ***,it was observed thatβvalues change depending on material type and ***,there is a need to evaluate theseβvalues for varying material and testing *** addition,it was found that the TSR and CR results are highly correlated with an average difference of 1.5%.Furthermore,other tests such as Marshall stability and dynamic immersion were also *** was found that Marshall stability ratio(MSR)and Marshall stability to flow ratio(MSFR)values are less sensitive to moisture effect when measuring moisture resistance compared to TSR ***,the 48 h testing result of the dynamic immersion test showed better correlation with TSR values.

The flow pattern behaviour of falling liquid film over three horizontal cylinders was *** flows can take three forms:discrete droplets,individual jets,and continuous sheet,and special attention is paid to the effects of the physical properties and geometrical parameters of the first two forms(droplets and jets) because these forms are more important in heat-transfer behaviour and less research has been published for these forms,The flow modes and experimental results were successfully compared with previous experimental literatures,and also the effects of liquid flow rate,tube diameter,and tube spacing on departure site spacing,in both drop and jet modes,were evaluated in the low Galileo number and high viscosity fluid(cooking oil),to help developing criteria for determining falling film modes and their transitions,and to understand the heat transfer characteristics associated with each mode.

Despite numerous advances in treatment options,advanced gastric cancer(AGC)remains a major public health issue and the leading cause of cancer-related *** is one of the most effective broadspectrum anticancer drugs for AGC and a doublet combination regimen of either cisplatin-based or 5-fluorouracil(5FU)-based chemotherapy is generally used for treatment of patients with ***,there is still no consensus on the best regimen for treating ***,various new chemotherapeutic agents,including oral 5FU,taxanes,and irinotecan,have been identified as improving the outcomes for AGC when used as a single agent or in combination with nonplatinum ***,it is still unclear whether non-platinum-based chemotherapy is a viable treatment option for patients with ***,this review focuses on the efficacy and tolerability of non-platinum-based chemotherapy for patients with AGC.

The microbial community structure in various microaggregates in a loamy sand soil was investigated. The microaggregates were separated into outer and inner aggregates using a series of soil washes. Further physical fractionation of inner aggregates was achieved by separation into coarse and fine sand as macroaggregate fractions, coarse and fine silt as microaggregate fractions, and clay. Research on microbial communities and soil microaggregates can aid in our understanding of soil microhabitats and microorganisms in soil structures, with applications that may contribute to increasing crop production and maintaining sustainable agriculture. In order to study the microbial community structure of aggregates, polymerase chain reaction denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) was performed using 16S rRNA genes. The PCR-DGGE of the Bacteria Actinomycetes and Archaea showed divergent results between the different aggregate fractions. The results showed that the bacterial community structure was highly similar between bulk soil and clay;the inner aggregate community structure of Actinomycetes was closely related between coarse and fine sand and coarse silt, and the Archaea community structure of outer and inner aggregates was more similar than that of total bacteria or Actinomycetes.
