Many countries are developing national strategies and action plans aimed at minimising the negative impacts of climate change on *** purpose of this paper is to provide a brief overview not only of strategies and plans that have been developed in Australia,but also of research that has been carried out in Australia by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation(CSIRO) Climate Adaptation Flagship to assist the development of future strategies and *** points are summarised from key policy documents such as the National Biodiversity and Climate Change Action Plan 2004-2007,and Australia's Biodiversity Conservation Strategy 2010-2030,as well as the 2009 report on "Australia's Biodiversity and Climate Change".Within the first three years of its existence,the Natural Ecosystems theme in CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship has carried out studies analysing impacts and identifying potential adaptations across the whole of Australia's vast terrestrial and marine *** used in these studies could be applied easily in other countries and could assist the development of more effective national strategies and adaptation action plans for the conservation of biodiversity under climate change.

研究探讨了不同浓度的钙离子载体 (A2 3187)结合 6 二甲氨基嘌呤 (DMAP)或丁内酯I (BL -I)激活处理对有或无透明带牛卵母细胞孤雌发育的影响。结果表明 :使用A2 3187浓度从 0 .6 2 5～ 10 .0 0 0 μmol/L配合 2 .0mmol/LDMAP孤雌激活牛具透明带卵均能获得良好的卵裂及早期胚胎发育效果 ;对于去透明带卵来说 ,使用 0 .6 2 5 μmol/L浓度的A2 3187激活效果最佳。BL I的激活效果则明显差于DMAP ;当采用 0 .3%PVA取代激活液中的 5 %血清时 ,BL I的激活效率显著提高。

Design of area and power efficient Radix-4 DIT FFT butterfly unit using floating point fused arithmetic

In this work, power efficient butterfly unit based FFT architecture is presented. The butterfly unit is designed using floating-point fused arithmetic units. The fused arithmetic units include two-term dot product unit and add-subtract unit. In these arithmetic units, operations are performed over complex data values. A modified fused floating-point two-term dot product and an enhanced model for the Radix-4 FFT butterfly unit are proposed. The modified fused two-term dot product is designed using Radix-16 booth multiplier. Radix-16 booth multiplier will reduce the switching activities compared to Radix-8 booth multiplier in existing system and also will reduce the area required. The proposed architecture is implemented efficiently for Radix-4 decimation in time(DIT) FFT butterfly with the two floating-point fused arithmetic units. The proposed enhanced architecture is synthesized, implemented, placed and routed on a FPGA device using Xilinx ISE tool. It is observed that the Radix-4 DIT fused floating-point FFT butterfly requires 50.17% less space and 12.16% reduced power compared to the existing methods and the proposed enhanced model requires 49.82% less space on the FPGA device compared to the proposed design. Also, reduced power consumption is addressed by utilizing the reusability technique, which results in 11.42% of power reduction of the enhanced model compared to the proposed design.

Interactions between inhomogeneous magnetic fields and a superconductor lie at the heart of several high‐temperature superconducting(hTS)*** example is the situation where the magnetic field from a small permanent magnet(PM)is applied to a coated‐conductor hTS tape,such that flux penetrates the *** PM field is highly spatially inhomogeneous,such that there is significant variation in the applied field magnitude and direction across the *** leads to a varying local critical current density,J_(c)(B,θ),across the tape,and consequently different‘shielding’(magnetic flux penetration)behaviour than is the case for a uniform applied ***,we report results from measurements and numerical simulations of the penetrating magnetic field within an hTS coated‐conductor tape which occur as a PM dipole approaches from a *** simulations were performed using a finite‐element model based on the h‐formulation,and which incorporated experimentally‐measured anisotropic J_(c)(B,θ)Þproperties from a coated‐conductor *** showed good agreement with experimental *** effects of varying key modelling assumptions and parameters were then studied,including changing the widths of the PM and hTS tape and the magnitude of J_(c)(B,θ).The inhomogeneity of the PM field leads to a characteristic gull‐wing distribution of magnetic flux across the superconductor at elevated applied *** approach of the PM to the tape suppresses Jc in the centre of the tape,and this results in the observation of a characteristic maxima for the total shielding currents circulating in the tape.A figure of merit is introduced which uses this effect to provide a threshold definition for‘full flux penetration’of an hTS tape by an inhomogeneous dipole field.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Lasers possess many attractive features(e.g.,high brightness,narrow linewidth,well-defined polarization)that make them the ideal illumination source for many different scientific and technological endeavors relating to imaging and the display of high-resolution ***,their high-level of coherence can result in the formation of noise,referred to as speckle,that can corrupt and degrade ***,we demonstrate a new electro-optic technology for combatting laser speckle using a chiral nematic liquid crystal(LC)dispersed with zwitterionic *** are presented that demonstrate when driven at the optimum electric field conditions,the speckle noise can be reduced by>90%resulting in speckle contrast(C)values of C=0.07,which is approaching that required to be imperceptible to the human *** LC technology is then showcased in an array of different display and imaging applications,including a demonstration of speckle reduction in modern vectorial laser-based imaging.

With the increasing availability of large-area graphene, the ability to rapidly and accurately assess the quality of the electrical properties has become critically important. For practical applications, spatial variability in carrier density and carrier mobility must be controlled and minimized. We present a simple framework for assessing the quality and homogeneity of large-area graphene devices. The field effect in both exfoliated graphene devices encapsulated in hexagonal boron nitride and chemical vapor-deposited （CVD） devices was measured in dual current-voltage configurations and used to derive a single, gate-dependent effective shape factor, t, for each device, β is a sensitive indicator of spatial homogeneity that can be obtained from samples of arbitrary shape. All 50 devices investigated in this study show a variation （up to tenfold） in β as a function of the gate bias. Finite element simulations suggest that spatial doping inhomogeneity, rather than mobility inhomogeneity, is the primary cause of the gate dependence of β, and that measurable variations of β can be caused by doping variations as small as 10^10 cm^-2. Our results suggest that local variations in the position of the Dirac point alter the current flow and thus the effective sample shape as a function of the gate bias. We also found that such variations lead to systematic errors in carrier mobility calculations, which can be revealed by inspecting the corresponding β factor.

We report results and modelling of an experiment performed at the Target Area West Vulcan laser facility,aimed at investigating laser±plasma interaction in conditions that are of interest for the shock ignition scheme in inertial confinement fusion(ICF),that is,laser intensity higher than 10^(16) W/cm^(2) impinging on a hot(T>1 keV),inhomogeneous and long scalelength pre-formed *** show a significant stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)backscattering(;%-20%of laser energy)driven at low plasma densities and no signatures of two-plasmon decay(TPD)/SRS driven at the quarter critical density *** are satisfactorily reproduced by an analytical model accounting for the convective SRS growth in independent laser speckles,in conditions where the reflectivity is dominated by the contribution from the most intense speckles,where SRS becomes *** and kinetic simulations well reproduce the onset of SRS at low plasma densities in a regime strongly affected by non-linear Landau damping and by filamentation of the most intense laser *** absence of TPD/SRS at higher densities is explained by pump depletion and plasma smoothing driven by *** prevalence of laser coupling in the low-density profile justifies the low temperature measured for hot electrons(7-12 keV),which is well reproduced by numerical simulations.
