Anisotropic iron-doping patterns in two-dimensional cobalt oxide nanoislands on Au(111)

An in teg rated approach combi ning den sity functional theory(DFT)calculati ons and atomic resol utio n sea nning tun neling microscopy(STM)is used to study well-defined iron-doped cobalt oxide nanoislands supported on Au(111).The focus is on the structure and distribution of Fe dopants within these nanoislands of CoO as a function of Fe to Co *** DFT and STM results agree strongly and complement each other to allow for a more complete un dersta nding of the dopa nt structure trends on the nano *** Fe as a marker,we first find that the stacki ng seque nee of the moire structure of the host cobalt oxide nano islands can be ide ntified un ambiguously through a combinati on of DFT and *** the distinct con trast of the embedded Fe dopa nt atoms as observed with atom-resolved STM,we find correlatio ns betwee n Fe dopa nt positi on and the CoO/Au(111)moire patter n at varyi ng Fe dopa nt den *** n of Fe-dopa nt clusters within the nano islands is investigated in detail through DFT and found to agree with the dopant patter ns observed in *** find that the structural effects of Fe dopants throughout the nanoislands with the basal planes and the two types of edges—the oxygen and metal edges—have different *** DFT calculations and STM images show a strong preferenee for Fe dopants to be located directly on or near the oxygen edge of the nanoislands as opposed to being directly on or n ear the metal *** n together,our results illustrate that Fe dopa nt incorporati on and distributi on within CoO nanoislands are highly an isotropic and gover ned by both the moire structure of the basal planes as well as nano-size effects present at the under-coordinated edges of different local geometry and chemistries.

In recent years, there have been significant developments in the research on 5th Generation （5G） networks. Several enabling technologies are being explored for the 5G mobile system era. The aim is to evolve a cellular network that is intrinsically flexible and remarkably pushes forward the limits of legacy mobile systems across all dimensions of performance metrics. All the stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, standardization authorities, industrial fora, mobile operators and vendors, must work in unison to bring 5G to fruition. In this paper, we aggregate the 5G-related information coming from the various stakeholders, in order to i） have a comprehensive overview of 5G and ii） to provide a survey of the envisioned 5G technologies; their development thus far from the perspective of those stakeholders will open up new frontiers of services and applications for next-generation wireless networks.

A four-element compact dual-band patch antenna having a common ground plane operating at 28/38 GHz is proposed formillimeter-wave communication systems in this ***-input-multiple-output(MIMO)antenna geometry consists of a slotted ellipse enclosed within a hollow circle which is orthogonally rotated with a connected partial ground at the *** overall size of the four elements MIMO antenna is 2.24λ×2.24λ(at 27.12GHz).The prototype of four-element MIMOresonator is designed and printed using Rogers RTDuroid 5880 withε_(r)=2.2 and loss tangent=0.0009 and having a thickness of 0.8 *** covers dual-band having a fractional bandwidth of 15.7%(27.12-31.34 GHz)and 4.2%(37.21-38.81 GHz)for millimeter-wave applications with a gain of more than 4 dBi at both *** proposed antenna analysis in terms ofMIMOdiversity parameters(Envelope Correlation Coefficient(ECC)and Diversity Gain(DG))is also carried *** experimental result in terms of reflection coefficient,radiation pattern,gain and MIMOdiversity parameter correlates very well with the simulated ones that show the potential of the proposed design for MIMO applications at millimeter-wave frequencies.

The biosynthesis of isoprenoids in plant cells occurs from precursors produced in the cytosol by the mevalonate （MVA） pathway and in the plastid by the methylerythritol 4-phosphate （MEP） pathway, but little is known about the mechanisms coordinating both pathways. Evidence of the importance of sugar signaling for such coordination in Arabi- dopsis thaliana is provided here by the characterization of a mutant showing an increased accumulation of MEP-derived isoprenoid products （chlorophylls and carotenoids） without changes in the levels of relevant MEP pathway transcripts, proteins, or enzyme activities. This mutant was found to be a new loss-of-function allele of PRL1 （Pleiotropic Regulatory Locus 1）, a gene encoding a conserved WD-protein that functions as a global regulator of sugar, stress, and hormone responses, in part by inhibition of SNFl-related protein kinases （SnRK1）. Consistent with the reported role of SnRK1 kinases in the phosphorylation and inactivation of the main regulatory enzyme of the MVA pathway （hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme-A reductase）, its activity but not transcript or protein levels was reduced in prll seedlings. However, the accumulation of MVA-derived end products （sterols） was unaltered in mutant seedlings. Sucrose supplementation to wild- type seedlings phenocopied the prll mutation in terms of isoprenoid metabolism, suggesting that the observed isoprenoid phenotypes result from the increased sugar accumulation in the prll mutant. In summary, PRL1 appears to coordinate isoprenoid metabolism with sugar, hormone, and stress responses.

Comparative Assessment of Pollutant Concentrations and Meteorological Parameters from TCEQ CAMS Sites at Houston and Rio Grande Valley Regions of Texas, USA in 2016

Spatial and temporal heterogeneity in pollutant concentrations exists at the intra-urban level. In this research work, the concentrations of various pollutants and meteorological parameters are characterized between various central ambient monitoring sites at Houston, TX, and the Rio Grande Valley Regions of South Texas. Meteorological (temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction) and pollutant (O3, SO2, CO, NO2, and various PM species) concentrations were downloaded from the appropriate Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Central Ambient Monitoring Station (CAMS) sites for the year 2016. Correlation Analyses and Coefficient of Divergence (COD) analyses suggest that statistically significant differences occur between the various TCEQ CAMS sites in the Houston Region. Findings from this study will help the various stakeholders involved in assessing the overall air pollutants exposure burden for the local populations.

Sensitivity and Specificity of Pre-Operative Staging of the Axilla When Using OSNA in Breast Cancer Patients

Introduction: All patients with a new diagnosis of breast cancer undergo pre-operative axillary ultrasound (US) and biopsy to identify axillary metastases. The efficacy of this approach at identifying metastatic disease is particularly important if an intra-operative technique of assessment is used. This paper is the first to report the sensitivity and specificity of pre-operative axillary ultrasound within the context of the routine use of OSNA (one step nucleic acid amplification) (Sysmex, Japan), a molecular assay technique for the intra-operative analysis of axillary lymph nodes. This knowledge will help counsel patients prior to the procedure and inform economic analysis of the implications of this approach. Method: Consecutive patients diagnosed with invasive breast cancer between July 2009 and February 2012 at a single centre were identified by interrogation of MDT (multi disciplinary team) and surgical databases and a prospective database of all patients undergoing OSNA analysis. A standardised data collection sheet was used to record tumour characteristics and the nodal stage for each patient. These results were used to document the efficacy of preoperative US and biopsy of the axilla in comparison to intraoperative OSNA analysis. The data were then compared between two groups of patients, those whose nodes had been assessed using OSNA (the OSNA group) and those nodes had been tested using standard histopathological examination (the non-OSNA group). Results: A total of 377 eligible patients were identified. Within the OSNA group (n = 240) the sensitivity of pre-operative axillary US was 29% which rose to 41% when micro-metastases were excluded. A specificity and positive predictive value of 100% was recorded. The negative predictive value was 74%. There were no significant differences to the efficacy when the nodes were assessed with standard histopathology. The current paper deals with the way in which the liquid-vapor equilibrium can be predicted, using the program Microsoft-Excel to obtain the bubble temperatures of twenty different non-ideal mixtures, the location of the azeotrope and the relation of the minimal reflux. The Wilson model was used for the activity coefficient and the cubic equation of state was used for the fugacity coefficient, utilizing the Pitzer correlation for the second virial coefficient.
