We consider the problem of minimizing a block separable convex function(possibly nondifferentiable, and including constraints) plus Laplacian regularization, a problem that arises in applications including model fitting, regularizing stratified models, and multi-period portfolio optimization. We develop a distributed majorization-minimization method for this general problem, and derive a complete, self-contained, general,and simple proof of convergence. Our method is able to scale to very large problems, and we illustrate our approach on two applications, demonstrating its scalability and accuracy.

Orgasm-associated urinary incontinence,or climacturia,is a common side effect after radical prostatectomy(RP)that is gaining more attention due to the distress it causes to patients.A range of treatment options have been reported in the literature and are outlined in this *** goal of our study is to review the pathophysiology and current management options for climacturia following RP.A PubMed search was used to review the current literature relating to the pathophysiology and the treatment of postprostatectomy *** reviewed the currently available treatment options and their success rates for *** techniques were found to subjectively help improve the amount and bother of patients'*** include pelvic floor muscle training(PFMT),penile variable tension loop,soft silicone occlusion loop,artificial urethral sphincter,male urethral sling,and the Mini-Jupette *** rates ranged from 48%to 100%depending on the modality *** patients with erectile dysfunction and climacturia,the Mini-Jupette graft could be a valuable *** the lack of validated measurement tools and management options,climacturia has become a challenge for *** a condition that has not garnered much attention,there are several management options from conservative to invasive treatments that have shown a hopeful promise for the treatment of *** options should be discussed with patients to determine the best treatment for each *** clinical trials are n eeded to assess the efficacy and impact of the d iff ere nt treatme nt options before a defi nitive recommendation regarding management can be made.

Recently,machine learning(ML)has been used to address the computational cost that has been limiting ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD).Here,we present GNNFF,a graph neural network framework to directly predict atomic forces from automatically extracted features of the local atomic environment that are translationally-invariant,but rotationally-covariant to the coordinate of the *** demonstrate that GNNFF not only achieves high performance in terms of force prediction accuracy and computational speed on various materials systems,but also accurately predicts the forces of a large MD system after being trained on forces obtained from a smaller ***,we use our framework to perform an MD simulation of Li7P3S11,a superionic conductor,and show that resulting Li diffusion coefficient is within 14%of that obtained directly from *** high performance exhibited by GNNFF can be easily generalized to study atomistic level dynamics of other material systems.

Arsenic is a carcinogenic environmental factor found in food and drinking water around the *** mechanisms in which arsenic alters homeostasis are not fully *** the past few decades,light has been shed on varying mechanisms in which arsenic induces *** mechanisms include gut microbe perturbations,genotoxic effects,and epigenetic *** microbe perturbations have been shown to increase the level of pathogen-associated molecular patterns such as lipopolysaccharide(LPS) leading to uncontained *** in inflammation is the major factor in cirrhosis leading to hepatocellular *** in gut permeability and metabolites have also been observed as a fallout of arsenic induced gut microbe *** guts proximity and interaction through portal flow make the liver susceptible to gut perturbations and ensuing inflammatory *** and epigenetic dysregulation induced by arsenic and its toxic metabolites present a more direct mechanism that works synergistically with gut microbe perturbations to induce the incidence of *** pathways combined could be some of the main causes of arsenic-induced carcinogenesis.

Hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection causes a tremendous clinical burden across the world with more than half a million people dying annually from HBV related disease. Significant advances have been made in HBV treatment in the past decade and several guidelines have been published by professional societies and expert panels. Although these recommendations have been valuable to help optimize HBV treatment, there is discordance in treatment criteria and many patients infected with HBV may fall outside of these recommendations. This paper systematically reviews the natural history of the disease and compares and contrasts the recommendations for initiation of treatment from the various societies. There is also discussion of special groups that require particular consideration and some of the open research questions and future research directions within the field.

Since 2005, there has been a huge growth in the use of engineered control pulses to perform desired quantum operations in systems such as nuclear magnetic resonance quantum information processors. These approaches, which build on the original gradient ascent pulse engineering algorithm, remain computationally intensive because of the need to calculate matrix exponentials for each time step in the control pulse. In this study, we discuss how the propagators for each time step can be approximated using the Trotter-Suzuki formula, and a further speedup achieved by avoiding unnecessary operations. The resulting procedure can provide substantial speed gain with negligible costs in the propagator error, providing a more practical approach to pulse en-ineerinK.

Sedimentological and stratigraphic studies of seven stratigraphic sections of Permian Hongyanchi （HYC） and Quanzijie （QZJ） low-order cycles （LCs） in the Tarlong-Taodonggou half graben and Dalongkou area in Bogda Mountains, NW China, demonstrate effective approaches and methodology in cyclo- and time-stratigraphic analyses of complex fluviallacustrine deposits in an intracontinental rift setting. A new synchronous stratigraphic unit, the lower QZJ LC is defined. The lower and upper boundaries of this cycle include a regionally correlative disconformity, erosional unconformity, and conformity, across which significant and abrupt changes in palaeoenvironments and tectonic and climatic conditions occurred. The lower boundary is an erosional unconformity and disconformity with a high-relief topography that juxtaposes lacustrine deposits of the underlying HYC LC with the overlying meandering stream deposits of the lower QZJ LC, and was caused by a regional tectonic uplift. The up- per boundary is a disconformity and local erosional unconformity and conformity, juxtaposing stacked paleosols developed on fluvial sediments with overlying fluvial and loessial deposits of the upper QZJ LC. The paleosols indicate landscape stability and a prolonged period of subaerial exposure and minimal deposition and suggest that climatic conditions were semiarid with strong precipitation seasonality in the Tarlong-Taodonggou half graben and subhumid in the Dalongkou area. The fluvial-loessial deposits indicate a renewed tectonic uplift and a change in the atmospheric circulation pattern. The newly-defined lower QZJ LC facilitates accurate palaeogeographic reconstruction in the study area during a period of major tectonic and climatic changes. The interpreted tectonic and climatic conditions provide a critical data point in the mid-latitude east coast of NE Pangea during the Mid-Permian icehouse-hothouse transition. Radical prostatectomy （RP） and radiotherapy （RT） are highly effective in improving prostate cancer survival. However, both have a detrimental effect on erectile function （EF）. Penile rehabilitation consists of understanding the mechanisms that cause erectile dysfunction （ED） and utilizing pharmacologic agents, devices or interventions to promote male sexual function. For the past decade, many researchers have pursued to define effective treatment modalities to improve ED after prostate cancer treatment. Despite the understanding of the mechanisms and well-established rationale for postprostate treatment penile rehabilitation, there is still no consensus regarding effective rehabilitation programs. This article reviews a contemporary series of trials that assess penile rehabilitation and explore treatment modalities that might play a role in the future. Published data and trials related to penile rehabilitation after RP and RT were reviewed and presented. Although recent trials have shown that most therapies are well-tolerated and aid in some degree on EF recovery, we penile rehabilitation algorithm. However, advancements in options for penile rehabilitation. currently do not have tangible evidence to recommend an irrefutable research and technology will ultimately create and refine management

Prostate cancer is a clinically heterogeneous disease, with some men having indolent disease that can safely be observed, while others have aggressive, lethal disease. Over the past decade, researchers have begun to unravel some of the genomic heterogeneity that contributes to these varying clinical phenotypes. Distinct molecular sub-classes of prostate cancer have been identified, and the uniqueness of these sub-classes has been leveraged to predict clinical outcomes, design novel biomarkers for prostate cancer diagnosis, and develop novel therapeutics. Recent work has also elucidated the temporal and spatial heterogeneity of prostate cancer, helping us understand disease pathogenesis, response to therapy, and progression. New genomic techniques have provided us with a window into the remarkable clinical and genomic heterogeneity of prostate cancer, and this new perspective will increasingly impact patient care.
