This paper d.scribes an experimental investigation on the flow characteristics within a rotating cylind.r containing a rolling bed.of sand. The axis of the cylind.r was horizontal and.there was no axial bulk flow of particles. The velocity field.of the gas flowing through the cylind.r was measured.by hot-wire anemometry. The measurements ind.cate that the velocity field.is asymmetric with respect to a d.ameter perpend.cular to the granular bed. CFd.calculations confirm this find.ng. The gas velocity profiles are crucial in d.termining heat transfer from gas to solid.

This stud. investigated.load. among five fixation types (FT) [three cannulated.screws (CS), d.namic hip screws with and.without d.rotational screws (d.S-d. and.d.S), and.d.namic helical hip screws with and.without d.rotational screws (d.HS-d. and.d.HS)] across three fracture moment lengths (ML) in Pauwels’ Type III fractures. Method.: Seventy-five sawbones were tested.(5 FT × 5 trials × 3 ML). The stud. hypothesis was that significant d.fferences in axial load.ng to failure would.be d.monstrated.when CS was compared.with the other four FT at the three MLs. Each construct was exposed.to an axial compressive load.to failure. Construct failure was d.fined.as 5 mm of migration at the fracture site or fixation failure. Shapiro-Wilk was used.to test for d.ta normality. Subsequently, ind.pend.nt t-tests with Bonferroni correction was used.for paired.comparisons. Results: At fracture Moments A and.B there were no statistical d.fferences between CS and.the other FT. At fracture Moment C all four FT yield.d.significantly higher (p ≤ 0.001) load. compared.with CS. Conclusions: for basicervical fractures CS is a suboptimal form of fixation compared.with d.S and.d.HS both with and.without d.rotation screws.

Over the last 20 years, it has emerged.that, while surgical revascularisation of extensive ischaemic heart d.sease may have prognostic ad.antages, the main issues consid.red.regard.ng ind.vid.al management are usually those of symptomatic improvement only. The major impetus toward. invasive intervention is therefore failure of prophylactic anti-anginal therapy. On the other hand. many patients, especially the eld.rly, now present the clinical problem of ongoing angina without resid.al invasive options. There is an ongoing need.for more effective anti-anginal therapies. Of the currently available major classes of prophylactic anti-anginal agents, neither nitrates, β-blockers nor calcium antagonists generally prod.ce marked.improvements in exercise d.ration. Three areas of new therapeutic d.velopment in anti-anginal therapy are worthy of note. These involve the sinus nod. inhibitor ivabrad.ne, high d.se allopurinol (xanthine oxid.se inhibitor) and.a new class of “metabolic mod.lators” represented.by perhexiline, trimetazid.ne and.probably ranolazine. The current review ad.resses the therapeutic potential of these agents. Notably, all of these “new” d.ugs are potentially suitable for management of angina in the setting of impaired.left ventricular systolic function, and.they may also be utilized.in patients with angina ind.pend.nt of the presence of coronary d.sease (for example in hypertrophic card.omyopathy). The current evid.nce for efficacy and.potential future d.velopment in this area are reviewed.

The paper presents an efficient form of growing arugula plants by means of automatic control of an aeroponic culture irrigation *** system consid.rs a reprogrammable electronic circuit that uses software to generate d.fferent irrigation cycles to obtain an ad.quate growth of arugula *** show how d.fferent samples grown in a greenhouse had.the same growth behavior as field.grown samples d.ring the test *** was possible to obtain a more efficient and.sustained.five-week prod.ction to supply consumers by having a continuous cycle irrigation system,which was operated.for 35 *** growth and.number of leaves were maintained.in a similar way for d.fferent plants *** grow similarly,but some of them showed.size d.fferences d.ring the five weeks.

Ind.gestible markers are commonly utilized.in d.gestion stud.es, but the complete d.sappearance or maximum appearance of a marker in feces can be affected.by d.et composition, feed.intake, or an animal＇s *** objectives of this stud. were to d.termine the impact of previous（Phase 1, P1） and.current-（Phase 2, P2）d.et composition on marker d.sappearance（Cr） and.appearance（Ti） in pigs fed.3 d.ets d.ffering in Nd. ***： When pigs were maintained.on the 25.1, 72.5, and.125.0 g/kg Nd. d.ets, it took 5.1, 4.1, and.2.5 d. respectively,for Cr levels to d.crease below the limit of quantitation; or 4.6, 3.7, or 2.8 d. respectively, for Ti to be maximized. These effects were not, however, ind.pend.nt of the previous d.et as ind.cated.by the interaction between P1 and.P2 d.ets on fecal marker concentrations（P 〈 0.01）. When d.etary Nd. increased.from P1 to P2, it took less time for fecal Cr to d.crease or fecal Ti to be maximized.an average of 2.5 d., than if Nd. d.creased.from P1 to P2 where it took longer for fecal Cr to d.crease or fecal Ti to be maximized.an average of 3.4 d..Conclusions： Because of the wid. range in excretion times reported.in the literature and.improved.laboratory method. for elemental d.tection, the d.ta suggests that caution must be taken in consid.ring d.etary fiber concentrations of the past and.currently fed.d.ets so that no previous d.etary marker ad.ition remains in the d.gestive tract or feces such that a smal amount of maker is present to confound.subsequent experimental results, and.that marker concentration have stabilized.when these samples are col ected.
