Electrophoretic Deposition of TiO2/Nb2O5 Composite Electrode Thin Films for Photovoltaic Application

Nano sized powders of TiO2 (titanium dioxide) and Nb 2 O 5 (Niobium (V) oxide) were used to fabricate TiO2 /Nb 2 O 5 composites thin films by EPD (electrophoretic deposition) technique. The metal oxide powders, together with magnesium nitrate hexahydrate pellets, were suspended in propan-2-ol inside an EPD cell. The electrodes, placed 1.2 cm apart, were partially immersed in the suspension and a DC potential applied across them. Key EPD process parameters, which include applied DC electric field, deposition time and solid concentration in suspension, were optimized through visual inspection and from UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer spectra. The highest (55%) transmittance was obtained for films with deposition time of 90 s, powder concentration of 0.01 g/40 mL, and 35 V DC (direct current) voltage. XRD micrographs confirmed that TiO2 and Nb 2 O 5 particles were presented in the composite film. SEM (scanning electron microscope) micrographs of the composite electrode thin films showed that porous films of high quality with well controlled morphology were deposited by using the EPD technique.

Role of phase separation in nanocomposite indium-tin-oxide films for transparent thermoelectric applications

We report that oxygen vacancies have a profound impact on phase separation and thermoelectric properties of ITO films grown at room *** vacancies in non-stoichiometric In1.8Sn0.2O2.5 films aided the formation of In-rich metallic *** yields a high electrical conductivity s=1540 Scm1 and Seebeck coefficient|a|=27.2 mVK1,which resulted in the highest power factor(a2 s=113.8 mW m1 K2)but low optical transmission(Top-25%).An increase in oxygen partial pressure resulted in stochiometric In1.8Sn0.2O3 films which improved the optical transparency by 300%(Top-75.4%),but power factor was reduced by-85%due to a decrease in a and s.A decrease in a was due to the lack of energy filtering of charge carriers in the stoichiometric ITO film which did not have In-rich metallic *** results showed that the valence band energy shifts with a change in oxygen partial pressure due to a decrease in carrier density,which implied a change in Fermi energy due to the reverse Moss-Burstein *** results showed that phase separation can be obtained in nanocomposite ITO films by tuning their stoichiometry simply by varying the oxygen partial pressure during deposition of thermoelectric materials at low temperatures.

1 引言角闪石命名法的多数用户希望用不能区分元素价态的角闪石电子探针分析数据进行分类.显然,正如Leake(1968)和robinson et al. (1982)所归纳的,多数角闪石中至少含有一些三价铁离子,从而使分类遇到困难,因此角闪石命名法的典型用户需要估算角闪石中的三价铁的经验含量.在缺少Fe2+/Fe3+比值分析测定的情况下,三价铁的经验估算并不一定会产生很差的估计值.在如下的条件下,经验估算三价铁离子会精确地得出和分析测定相同的结果:(1) 分析数据完整(全铁加上所有其他元素);(2) 分析测定准确;(3) 矿物的化学计量(理想的阴离子和阳离子总和)已知.对角闪石来说,由于A位占位度的变化,使得条件(3)不能惟一地确定.然而,有关角闪石的化学计量学和元素分布的知识可以用来估计允许的结构分子式和三价铁的含量范围.最为乐观的情况是:所限定的结构分子式之间的差别很小,并且所估算的范围处于分类图解的同一区域内.然而,也会存在着如下情况:化学计量允许的分子式的范围很宽,即在分类图解中跨越两个或更多的区域.某些人或许认为这将无从获得满意的结果,除非使用电子探针常规地测定三价铁的含量是可能的.在这种情况下,经验估计可能是最好的解决办法.估算三价铁的程序至少要求重新计算全部二价铁的分析结果,得到一个不同的阳离子总和.为了更为充分理解估算三价铁比值的计算程序,就要求熟悉矿物分子式的计算方法.有关矿物分子式计算方法的详细讨论可见Deer et al. Effects of coat colour genes on body measurements, heat tolerance traits and haematological parameters in West African Dwarf sheep

With 178 West African Dwarf sheep aged 1 to 3 years, a study was conducted to investigate the effects of coat colour genes on body measurements, heat tolerance traits and haematological parameters. Body measurements considered included body length, hair length, ear length, hip width, tail length, height at withers, rump height, fore cannon bone length, chest depth, heart girth and body weight. Heat tolerance traits considered were skin temperature, rectal temperature, pulse rate and respiratory rate. Blood samples were collected for the evaluation of white blood cell (WBC), red blood cell (RBC), haemoglobin (HGB), haematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin cell (MCHC), red cell distribution width (RDW), platelets (PLT), mean platelets volume (MPV), platelets distribution width (PDW) and plateletcrits (PCT). Results showed that coat colour gene (CCG) had significant (P < 0.01) effect on rump height and tail length. Animals with black (BB) coat colour had the highest mean value for rump height (57.80 ± 1.29 cm) and tail length (22.10 ± 0.89 cm), while brown (Bb) coat colour had the least value of 53.00 ± 6.00 cm for rump height and 17.50 ± 0.50 cm for tail length. The CCG had significant (P < 0.01) effect on body temperature and pulse rate, with the grey/mouflon (Ag) colour possessing the highest body temperature (38.90°C ± 0.22°C), and Bb having the least value of 37.20°C ± 0.35°C. White/tan (Awt) had the highest pulse rate of 28.90 ± 0.66 beats/min and Bb had the least value of 20.00 ± 2.00 beats/min. The CCG had significant (P < 0.01) effect on RBC and MPV with brown (Bb) colour having the highest RBC counts (18.20 ± 0.00 L) and badgerface (Ab) having the least value (11.50 ± 0.62 L). The Bb had the highest value (5.60 ± 0.00 fL) for MPV and Ab had the least value (4.70 ± 0.15 fL). Sheep with Bb and Ab were found to withstand heat stress better than others.

Background:Different parts of Artemisia vulgaris L.(***)are ethno-medicinally used as an emmenagogue and for the treatment of ailments such as malaria fever,ulcers,and ***,anecdotal evidence shows that the plant is often substituted for Artemisia annua L.(***)by herbalists in Western Uganda due to similarities in their *** of medicinal plants and mislabelling of herbal products have been incriminated in toxicity and adverse health outcomes in traditional medicine *** safety continues to be a major issue with the use of herbal remedies,it becomes imperative therefore that medicinal plants should be correctly ***:This study focused on investigating the macroscopic,microscopic,physicochemical characteristics and phytochemical composition of *** leaves compared to *** to ease its correct ***:The results showed that there are some colour differences between the leaves of the two species,with a close arrangement of microscopic features but different leaf *** leaves of the two Artemisia species had similar tastes,but their shapes and colours(greenish-yellow for *** and dark green for ***)can be used by the local community to distinguish between *** artemisinin content was higher in *** leaves(1.72%)than in ***(1.43%),but the reverse was observed for the total flavonoid ***:This observation could justify the change in the use of *** by the indigenous community in western *** studies should consider the pharmacognostic comparison of *** with other species in the genus Artemisia and the use of molecular techniques such as DNA barcoding.
