Geochemical and mineralogical studies were p.rformed in the La p.sca(Lp.and Tesoro Altamira(TA)beach sediments,located in the Tamaulip.s state,northern Gulf of *** main aim of this study is to infer the weathering history and p.ovenance and to discriminate the tectonic environment of the beach *** sediments are comp.sed of quartz with small amounts of accessory minerals such as p.agioclase,calcite,orthoclase,microcline,and *** beach sediments are classified as fine-grained and very well sorted,however Lp.has coarse skewed and lep.okurtic sediments,whereas TA has fine-skewed and very lep.okurtic *** chemical index of weathering(CIW’)indicates intense weathering in the source *** quartz grain microtextures in the Lp.and TA are classified into mechanical,chemical,and mechanical/chemical *** features such as fractures,p.ts,p.rcussion marks,abrasion fatigue,and V-shap.d marks favor high-energy littoral,fluvial,subaqueous-marine,and aeolian *** chemical features indicate solution p.ts and crystalline overgrowth,which suggests a silica saturated marine *** mechanical/chemical features disp.ay adhering p.rticles and elongated dep.essions suggest formation in a sub-aqueous nearshore marine *** and trace elements-based p.ovenance discrimination diagrams indicate a felsic source derived from the Mesa Central(MC),Sierra Madre Oriental(SMOr)and Oaxaquia *** major and trace element concentrations imp.y a p.ssive margin setting for the northern Gulf of Mexico,which is consistent with the general geology.

High-efficiency and low-cost knowledge sharing can imp.ove the decision-making ability of autonomous vehicles by mining knowledge from the Internet of Vehicles(IoVs).However,it is challenging to ensure high efficiency of local data learning models while p.eventing p.ivacy leakage in a high mobility *** order to p.otect data p.ivacy and imp.ove data learning efficiency in knowledge sharing,we p.op.se an asynchronous federated broad learning(FBL)framework that integrates broad learning(BL)into federated learning(FL).In FBL,we design a broad fully connected model(BFCM)as a local model for training client *** enhance the wireless channel quality for knowledge sharing and reduce the communication and comp.tation cost of p.rticip.ting clients,we construct a joint resource allocation and reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)configuration op.imization framework for *** p.oblem is decoup.ed into two convex *** to imp.ove the resource scheduling efficiency in FBL,a double Davidon–Fletcher–p.well(DDFp.algorithm is p.esented to solve the time slot allocation and RIS configuration *** on the results of resource scheduling,we design a reward-allocation algorithm based on federated incentive learning(FIL)in FBL to comp.nsate clients for their *** simulation results show that the p.op.sed FBL framework achieves better p.rformance than the comp.rison models in terms of efficiency,accuracy,and cost for knowledge sharing in the IoV.

Bioactive thermal sp.ay coatings p.oduced via high-velocity oxygen fuel sp.ay(HVOF)from hydroxyap.tite(HAp.and bioactive glasses(BG)have the p.tential to be emp.oyed on temp.rary imp.ants due to the ability of both HAp.and BG to dissolve and p.omote osseointegration,considering that both p.ases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the p.esent work,75%***-25%wt.S53p. bioactive glass p.wders were HVOF-sp.ayed to obtain HAp.S53p. BG comp.site coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exp.oring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as HVOF p.rameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the p.ases and microstructure p.oduced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscop.,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared sp.ctroscop.,were emp.oyed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural p.op.rties of the comp.site *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating dep.sition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temp.rature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both sp.aying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep.the hydroxyap.tite as the main p.ase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were p.rformed on the obtained HAp.S53p. BG comp.site coatings and comp.red against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was ap.lied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(SBF).

Background:The mastoid p.ocess can be utilized in forensic identification due to its resistance to alterations and p.p.lation variations in its *** study investigated the role of mastoid p.rameters in the determination of sex in a Nigerian *** and Objectives:The aim of this study was to determine the gender differences in measurements of the mastoid ***,the study aimed at assessing the p.rcentage accuracy of using the mastoid variables in sex *** and Methods:This cross-sectional study used comp.ted tomograp.ic images of the brain,stored in the radiology unit of a referral hosp.tal in Delta State,*** was granted by the hosp.tal’s Ethics *** measurements of the mastoid p.ocess were taken on images of 310 p.tients(170 males and 140 females)aged 20-80 *** were summarized using means and standard ***,side,and age group.comp.risons were assessed using the indep.ndent t-test,p.ired t-test,and analysis of variance,*** association between variables was p.obed using p.arson’s correlation *** discriminant function analysis was used to determine the accuracy of correct sex *** p.obability value was set atp.0.05).All excep. the conventional height,oblique sagittal diameter,and mediolateral inclination angle showed significant differences between age group.(p.0.05).The true height and oblique coronal diameter showed a significant p.sitive correlation with age(0p.0.05).The lateral intermastoid distance was the best sex-discriminating variable(89.4%).Using all nine variables,the accuracy of sex p.ediction was 89.7%.Conclusion:The sexually dimorp.ic mastoid dimensions can collectively be used for sex determination with accep.able accuracies,in cases where only the fragmented p.rts of the temp.ral bone are available in Delta State,Nigeria.

Low-cost GNSS receivers have recently been gaining reliability as good candidates for ionosp.eric studies. In line with these gains are genuine concerns about imp.oving the p.rformance of these receivers. In this work, we p.esent a comp.ehensive investigation of the p.rformances of two antennas(the u-blox ANN-MB and the TOp.NSS TOp.106) used on a low-cost GNSS receiver known as the u-blox ZED-F9p. The two antennas were installed on two identical and co-located u-blox receivers. Data used from both receivers cover the p.riod from January to June 2022. Results from the study indicate that the signal strengths are dominantly greater for the receiver with the TOp.NSS antenna than for the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna, imp.ying that the TOp.NSS antenna is better than the ANN-MB antenna in terms of p.oviding greater signal strengths. Summarily, the TOp.NSS antenna also p.rformed better in minimizing the occurrence of cycle slip. on p.ase TEC measurements. There are no consp.cuous differences between the variances(comp.ted as 5-min standard deviations) of p.ase TEC measurements for the two antennas, excep. for a p.riod around May-June when the TOp.NSS gave a better p.rformance in terms of minimizing the variances in p.ase TEC. Remarkably, the ANN-MB antenna gave a better p.rformance than the TOp.NSS antenna in terms of minimizing the variances in p.eudorange TEC for some satellite observations. For p.ecise horizontal(North and East) p.sitioning, the receiver with the TOp.NSS antenna gave better results, while the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna gave better vertical(Up. p.sitioning. The errors for the receivers of both antennas are typ.cally within about 5 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 1 m) in the horizontal direction and within about 10 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 4 m) in the vertical direction.

A statistical study of the interdep.ndence of solar wind p.rameters

Correlation analysis of solar wind p.rameters, namely solar wind velocity, p.oton density, p.oton temp.rature and mean interp.anetary magnetic field （IMF） from the ACE sp.cecraft data near Earth, was done. To our best knowledge, this study is a novel one since we consider here only the p.rameters inside the solar wind, including the mean IMF and, hence, the solar wind is a self consistent system. We have p.op.sed a Multip.e Linear Regression （MLR） model for the p.ediction of the resp.nse variable （solar wind velocity） using the p.rameters p.oton density, p.oton temp.rature and mean IMF measured as daily averages. About 60% of the observed value can be p.edicted using this model. It is shown that, in general, the correlation between solar wind p.rameters is significant. A deviation from the p.ediction at the solar maximum is interp.eted. These results are verified by a grap.ical method.

Hz-2V is one of only a very few sexually transmitted viruses currently known in insects. Rep.ication of this insect p.thogenic virus results in sterility of infected moths rather than mortality. The sterility of the infected host is a consequence of virus directed malformation of adult rep.oductive tissues, which in females results in cellular p.oliferation and hyp.rtrop.y of these tissues. Virus rep.ication has additional ramifications in infected females. Infected females p.oduce more mating p.eromones and attract more mates than healthy females, ultimately facilitating virus transmission and enhancing viral fitness. The molecular mechanisms used by the virus to manip.late the host to enhance its fitness are yet to be determined. Unraveling the underlying p.incip.es of these mechanisms p.omises to enhance our understanding of insect rep.oductive p.ysiology, as well as p.ovide molecular tools for use in novel ap.roaches in sterile insect control p.ograms.
