We and others have published extensively on the benefits of physical activity(PA),exercise training,and cardiorespiratory fitness(CRF)to decrease the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)and CVD and all-cause morbidity and mortality.^(1-5)Both PA and CRF are important;however,CRF,which is mostly obtained through PA,although there is a genetic component,seems to be even more important than PA for predicting prognosis.^(1,4-6)Certainly,the wealth of data from across the world has indicated that increasing PA to enhance CRF while mitigating sedentary behavior would go a long way to lessen the world-wide obesity epidemic and reduce CVD and all-cause mortality.

Laser cooling of mechanical degrees of freedom is one of the most significant achievements in the field of ***,we report,for the first time to the best of our knowledge,efficient passive optomechanical cooling of the motion of a freestanding waveguide coupled to a whispering gallery-mode(WGM)*** waveguide is an 8 mm long glass-fiber nanospike,which has a fundamental flexural resonance atΩ/2π=2.5 kHz and a Q-factor of 1.2×10^*** launching^250μW laser power at an optical frequency close to the WGM resonant frequency,we observed cooling of the nanospike resonance from room temperature down to 1.8 *** cooling of the first higher-order mechanical mode is also *** strong suppression of the overall Brownian motion of the nanospike,observed as an 11.6 dB reduction in its mean square displacement,indicates strong optomechanical stabilization of linear coupling between the nanospike and the cavity *** cooling is caused predominantly by a combination of photothermal effects and optical forces between nanospike and WGM *** results are of direct relevance in the many applications of WGM resonators,including atom physics,optomechanics,and sensing.

Non-dimensional similarity groups and analytically solvable proximity equations can be used to estimate integral fluid film parameters of elastohydrodynamically lubricated(EHL)*** this contribution,we demonstrate that machine learning(ML)and artificial intelligence(AI)approaches(support vector machines,Gaussian process regressions,and artificial neural networks)can predict relevant film parameters more efficiently and with higher accuracy and flexibility compared to sophisticated EHL simulations and analytically solvable proximity equations,*** this purpose,we use data from EHL simulations based upon the full-system finite element(FE)solution and a Latin hypercube *** verify that the original input data are required to train ML approaches to achieve coefficients of determination above *** is revealed that the architecture of artificial neural networks(neurons per layer and number of hidden layers)and activation functions influence the prediction *** impact of the number of training data is exemplified,and recommendations for a minimum database size are *** ultimately demonstrate that artificial neural networks can predict the locally-resolved film thickness values over the contact domain 25-times faster than FE-based EHL simulations(R^(2) values above 0.999).We assume that this will boost the use of ML approaches to predict EHL parameters and traction losses in multibody system dynamics simulations.

Dialysis plays a crucial role in the purification of nanomaterials but its impact on the structural properties of carbon nanomaterials was never ***,a carbon-based nanomaterial generated electrochemically in potassium phosphate buffer,was characterized before and after dialysis against pure *** is shown that dialysis affects the size of the carbon domains,structural organization,surface functionalization,oxidation degree of carbon,and grade of ***,dialysis drives the nanomaterial organization from discrete roundish carbon domains,with sizes ranging from 70 to 160 nm,towards linear stacking structures of small nanoparticles （<15 nm）.In parallel,alcohol and ether （epoxide） surface groups evolve into more oxidized carbon groups （e.g.,ketone and ester groups）.Investigation of the as-prepared nanomaterial by electron paramagnetic resonance （EPR） revealed a resonance signal consistent with carbon-oxygen centred ***,this study brings to light the selective affinity of the carbon nanomaterial under study to capture Na+ions,a property greatly enhanced by the dialysis process,and its high ability to trap oxygen,particularly before *** findings open new perspectives for the application of carbon-based nanomaterials and raise awareness of the importance of structural changes that can occur during the purification of carbon-based nanomaterials.

虽然已有许多水指数被运用于咸海和咸海流域的水域面积分析,然而已有研究尚存在很大的不确定性.由于所使用水指数存在水体误识别的问题,导致不同研究得出的结论差异很大.此外,各种研究采用的咸海流域面积也差异很大,流域面积从约1百万km... 详细信息

虽然已有许多水指数被运用于咸海和咸海流域的水域面积分析,然而已有研究尚存在很大的不确定性.由于所使用水指数存在水体误识别的问题,导致不同研究得出的结论差异很大.此外,各种研究采用的咸海流域面积也差异很大,流域面积从约1百万km^(2)到2百万km^(2)不等.因此,我们首先界定咸海流域、锡尔河和阿姆河流域以及它们的上、中、下游的边界,然后提出可识别液态水和固态水的四波段指数(ILSW),以解决传统水指数的误别偏差问题.ILSW基于绿色、红色、近红外和热红外波段反射值,是归一化差异水指数(NDWI)和地表温度(LST)的合成.验证结果显示,ILSW水指数在咸海流域的准确性远远超过其他指数.研究结果表明,南咸海的水域面积平均每年缩小963km^(2),而北咸海几乎没有变化;由于气候变暖,咸海流域上游常年冰雪面积有大幅度退缩趋势,阿姆河上游和锡尔河上游常年冰雪的退缩速率分别为年均6233和384km^(2)/a.气候变化和人类活动引起了严重的水亏问题.自20世纪90年代以来,水亏呈增长趋势,平均每年增长3.778亿m^(3).2011~2020年期间,整个咸海流域平均总水亏量为76.967亿m^(3),而锡尔河流域上游(咸海流域的一个组成部分)水盈余量为25.461亿m^(3).研究结果对制定咸海流域可持续发展战略具有重要意义.

Effects and mechanisms of silibinin on human hepatoma cell lines

AIM： To investigate in vitro effects and mechanisms of silibinin on hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） cell growth, METHODS： Human HCC cell lines were treated with different doses of silibinin. The effects of silibinin on HCC cell growth and proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle progression, histone acetylation, and other related signal transductions were systematically examined. RESULTS： We demonstrated that silibinin significantly reduced the growth of HUH7, HepG2, Hep3B, and PLC/PRF/5 human hepatoma cells. Silibinin-reduced HuH7 cell growth was associated with significantly up- regulated p21/CDK4 and p27/CDK4 complexes, down- regulated Rb-phosphorylation and E2F1/DP1 complex. Silibinin promoted apoptosis of HuH7 cells that was associated with down-regulated survivin and upregulated activated caspase-3 and -9. Silibinin＇s antiangiogenic effects were indicated by down-regulated metalloproteinase-2 （MMP2） and CD34. We found that silibinin-reduced growth of HuH7 cells was associated with increased activity of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten （PTEN） and decreased p-Akt production, indicating the role of PTEN/ PI3K/Akt pathway in silibinin-mediated anti-HCC effects. We also demonstrated that silibinin increased acetylation of histone H3 and H4 （AC-H3 and AC-H4）, indicating a possible role of altered histone acetylation in silibininreduced HCC cell proliferation. CONCLUSION： Our results defined silibinin＇s in vitro anti-HCC effects and possible mechanisms, and provided a rationale to further test silibinin for HCC chemoprevention.

Depression is a prevalent mental disorder with limited effective treatments， posing a significant global issue. This study explored L-theanine and geniposide， key components in "food-medicine homology" materials， to determine if their combination (TG) could alleviate depression-like behaviors and hippocampal neuronal damage in a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) mouse model. Male C57BL/6j mice were divided into control， CUMS model， and CUMS+TG groups with varying doses. The CUMS group displayed depression-like behaviors， including reduced activity and sucrose preference. TG treatment partially reversed these changes， significantly increasing antioxidant enzyme activities， decreasing pro-inflammatory cytokine levels， and improving neuromodulator levels. RNA-seq analysis identified the transthyretin (TTR) gene， upregulated in the model group but downregulated after TG treatment. TG treatment modulated intestinal microbiota composition compared to the CUMS group， including increased Firmicutes， reduced Bacteroidetes and Prevotella， and variable changes in Bifidobacterium abundance. In conclusion， our study indicates that CUMS exposure upregulates stress hormones and TTR expression， associated with neuroinflammation， oxidative stress， monoamine depletion， depression-like behaviors， and intestinal microbiota dysbiosis. TG treatment alleviates these effects and modulates intestinal microbiota， suggesting L-theanine and geniposide’s potential as a novel depression therapy.

A diversity of animals are biofluorescent, absorbing shortwavelength electromagnetic radiation, and re-emitting it at longer wavelengths, giving a distinctive pattern （Lagorio et al. 2015）. Among terrestrial organisms, biofluorescence has been commonly recorded in arthropods, but rarely from vertebrates （Lagorio et al. 2015）. It has long been known from parrots （Hausmann et al. 2003） and has recently been recorded from a frog （Taboada et al. 2017） and from chameleons （Chamaeleonidae： Protzel et al. 2018）.
