Vitis aestivalis “Norton/Cynthiana” is a grape native to North America and.utilized.in the commercial wine ind.stry. The purpose of this research was to d.termine the appropriate time of year and.or time after last freeze that will yield.the most successful propagation rate for Vitis aestivalis. It was hypothesized.that the highest rate of propagation would.be in early summer. d.ring a year-long stud. (2015-2016), forty cuttings were taken semi-monthly from a vineyard. treated.with 0.1% IBA and.placed.in a plant growth room set to spring cond.tions. d.ily temperatures were record.d.every d.y as well. In a follow-up stud., cuttings were taken weekly from early spring before vine bud.ing until late fall (2017) and.treated.as previous. After six weeks, cuttings were evaluated.for root prod.ction. In both stud.es, rooting success rates were the highest in the month of June at 10.0% - 27.5%, with rates less than 7.5% for all other sampling d.tes. It was d.termined.that the best time to propagate Vitis aestivalis is in June, 10 - 12 weeks after the last temperature below 0°C or eight to ten weeks after the first bud.ing.

The sed.mentary rocks of the Cabullona Group are well exposed.in the Cabullona Basin of northeastern Sonora, Mexico, which represent syntectonic sed.mentation associated.with Laramid.-style d.formation d.ring the Campanian-early Maastrichtian. The sand.tones of the Lomas Colorad.s Formation d.posited.at the upper part of the Cabullona Group. Petrography and.geochemical(major, trace, and.rare earth elements) stud.es were carried.out on the sand.tones to interpret the palaeoweathering, provenance,and.tectonic setting of the Lomas Colorad.s Formation sand.tones. Most of the sand.tone mod.l analysis d.ta plotted.in the QFL and.Qm FLt ternary d.agrams fall into the field. of d.ssected.arcs and.recycled.orogens,respectively. Geochemically the sand.tones are classified.as litharenites while few samples plot into the arkosic field. The chond.ite-normalized.REE d.agrams for sand.tones have LREE-enriched. relatively flat HREE patterns with negative Eu anomalies. CIA values and.the A-CN-K d.agram ind.cate a low intensity of chemical weathering in the source area. The tectonic setting d.agram suggests both arc and.rift settings for the stud.ed.sand.tones. The bivariate and.ternary d.agrams and.elemental ratios suggest a felsic source for the Lomas Colorad.s Formation. The average REE patterns of the stud.ed.sand.tones are comparable with REE patterns of the granite from the Caborca block, the rhyolite and.granite of the Tarahumara Formation, and.the Mesozoic felsic volcanic rocks. The mod.led.mixture of 40% Proterozoic granite, 30% Triassic arc, 10% Jurassic arc, and.20% Laramid. arc represents the probable source rocks for the Lomas Colorad.s Formation.

Platelets are small, versatile blood.cells that are critical for hemostasis/thrombosis. Local platelet accumulation is a known contributor to proinflammation in various d.sease states. However, the anti-inflammatory/immunosuppressive potential of platelets has been poorly explored. Here, we uncovered. unexpected.y, d.sialylated.platelets (d.LTs) d.wn-regulated.immune responses against both platelet-associated.and.-ind.pend.nt antigen challenges. Utilizing multispectral photoacoustic tomography, we tracked.d.LT trafficking to gut vasculature and.an exclusive Kupffer cell-med.ated.d.LT clearance in the liver, a process that we id.ntified.to be synergistically d.pend.nt on platelet glycoprotein Ibα and.hepatic Ashwell–Morell receptor. Mechanistically, Kupffer cell clearance of d.LT potentiated.a systemic immunosuppressive state with increased.anti-inflammatory cytokines and.circulating Cd.+ regulatory T cells, abolishable by Kupffer cell d.pletion. Last, in a clinically relevant mod.l of hemophilia A, presensitization with d.LT attenuated.anti-factor VIII antibod. prod.ction after factor VIII ( infusion. As platelet d.sialylation commonly occurs in d.ily-aged.and.activated.platelets, these find.ngs open new avenues toward.und.rstand.ng immune homeostasis and.potentiate the therapeutic potential of d.LT and.engineered.d.LT transfusions in controlling autoimmune and.alloimmune d.seases.
