Background:The epidemiological data on post-burn growth,body composition and motor devel-opment is ambiguous and *** aim of this systematic review was therefore to summarize the current body of evidence on post-burn growth,body composition and motor development in ***:A literature search was conducted in PubMed,EMBASE and Web of Science up to March *** considered observational studies that reported(1)metrics on weight,height,body composition,bone mineral content,bone mineral density or motor development,in(2)paediatric burn patients and(3)published in a peer-reviewed ***:A total of 16 studies were *** of the included studies used quantitative methods,but with differing methodology:prospective cohort studies(n=8),retrospective chart reviews(n=3),case-control studies(n=2),cross sectional studies(n=2)and a retrospective cohort study(n=1).When combined,the included studies represented 2022 paediatric burn patients,with a mean age of 7.7(±3.2)*** average burn sizewas 52.8%(±12.7)of the total body surface *** outcome measures included weight(n=12),height(n=7),muscular strength(n=4),bone mineral content(n=5),bone mineral density(n=5),body mass index(n=3),fat mass(n=5),lean body mass(n=7)and fine and gross motor development(n=1).conclusions:Following an initial decline,patients’growth and motor development started to recover during the first or second year ***,burns may have a profound and prolonged effect on the paediatric burn patients’muscular strength,bone mineral content and lean body *** should be noted that the vast majority of studies included only patients with burns covering≥30%total body surface *** evidence presented in this review may thus not be representative of the whole paediatric burn population.

糖类化合物催化转化合成燃料和化学品为现有化石路线提供了可行的替代方案.碳化钨、氧化钨和钨酸等钨基催化剂具有催化糖分子碳-碳键选择性断裂生成乙二醇、丙二醇等c_(2,3)产物的独特性能.然而,对该催化反应的机理还一直缺乏明确的认识.最近北京大学刘海超团队报道,糖分子的羰基、α-和β-羟基与三氧化钨(WO_(3))表面的两个邻近钨原子(W-O-W结构)配位,形成一种双钨三齿螯合物;该螯合物作为反应的关键中间体,引发羰基β-位的碳-碳键断裂,从而实现糖分子的选择裂解.该新反应机理不仅为糖化学提供了新的认识,而且为糖基生物质提供了一个经乙醇醛、甘油醛等c_(2,3)中间体转化为化学品的有效策略.固体核磁表征结果表明,吸附到WO_(3)表面的^(13)cc标记葡萄糖的c1、c2和c3三个碳原子与表面钨原子形成了c-O-W键,从而在去屏蔽作用下化学位移向低场移动,说明糖分子需要羰基以及α-和β-羟基三个官能团共同参与才具有反应活性.催化反应结果表明,含有W-O-W结构的钨基化合物均表现出催化糖分子裂解生成c_(2,3)产物的活性,例如:仲钨酸铵、磷钨酸盐和钨青铜等均相、多相催化剂都能有效地将葡萄糖转化为乙二醇.通过理论计算分别模拟L-苏阿糖和2-脱氧-L-苏阿糖在WO_(3)(001)晶面上的反应过程,发现前者形成的L-苏阿糖-三氧化钨三齿螯合物,在后续碳-碳键选择性断裂生成一分子乙醇醛和一分子表面结合的乙烯二醇中间物种过程中,只有-0.01 eV的能量变化以及0.53 eV的能垒;而2-脱氧-L-苏阿糖则不同,由于缺乏α-羟基,后续碳-碳键断裂过程中需要吸收0.20 eV的能量和克服0.62 eV的能垒.计算结果进一步证明了糖-三氧化钨三齿螯合物中间体和糖分子α-羟基在反应中发挥了至关重要的作用.刘海超团队这项开拓性的工作揭示了三氧化钨催化糖分子碳-碳键选择性断裂的新机理,扩展了教科书中对经典逆羟醛缩合反应机理的描述.在该机理指导下,来源多样、纯度不同和结构各异的糖类化合物均能够在钨基催化剂作用下经乙醇醛和甘油醛等c_(2,3)中间体转化为化学品,从而为糖基生物质高效利用提供了具有实用意义的新策略.这正如现代石油化工所普遍采用的方法,首先将石油原料经过催化裂化或水汽裂解转化为乙烯、丙烯等c_(2,3)中间体,然后进一步转化为下游丰富的化学品.因此,该项研究工作对于纤维素、半纤维素等糖基生物质的高效转化利用具有重要意义.

Artificial neural network(ANN)potentials enable the efficient large-scale atomistic modeling of complex materials with near firstprinciples *** molecular dynamics simulations,accurate energies and interatomic forces are a prerequisite,but training ANN potentials simultaneously on energies and forces from electronic structure calculations is computationally ***,we introduce an efficient alternative method for the training of ANN potentials on energy and force information,based on an extrapolation of the total energy via a Taylor *** translating the force information to approximate energies,the quadratic scaling with the number of atoms exhibited by conventional force-training methods can be avoided,which enables the training on reference datasets containing complex atomic structures.

Noni juice is not hepatotoxic

Noni juice （Morinda citrifolia） has been approved for use as a safe food within the European Union, following a review of safety. Since approval, three cases of acute hepatitis in Austrian noni juice consumers have been published, where a causal link is suggested between the liver dysfunction and ingestion of anthraquinones from the plant. Measurements of liver function in a human clinical safety study of TAHITIAN NONI Juice, as well as subacute and subchronic animal toxicity tests revealed no evidence of adverse liver effects at doses many times higher than those reported in the case studies. Additionally, M. citrifolia anthraquinones occur in the fruit in quantities too small to be of any toxicological significance. Further, these do not have chemical structures capable of being reduced to reactive anthrone radicals, which were implicated in previous cases of herbal hepototoxicity. The available data reveals no evidence of liver toxicity.

The presented work addresses the topic of energy savings in existing public buildings, when no significant retrofits on buitding envelope or plants can be done and savings can be achieved by designing intelligent IcT-based service to monitor and contro[ environmental conditions, energy loads and plants operation. At the end of 2010 the European commission, within the Seventh Framework Program, has founded a project entitled ＂Smart Energy Efficient Middleware for Public Spaces＂（SEEMPubS）. To achieve this goal the project will implement, in a set of demonstrator buildings, an interoperab[e web-based software and hardware solution for real-time monitoring and control of lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning servfces, through both wired and wireless sensor networks. In this paper the first phase of the project, concerning the selection of the environments to be used as demonstrator and the definition of the control and monitoring strategies to reduce energy consumptions for lighting and air conditioning, are presented.

Due to its ubiquitous presence in the environment and the lack of a scientific consensus regarding the environmental safety of the widely used anionic surfactant Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(cAS No:151-21-3),a systematic literature review and thematic analysis was *** studies about sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS)in the environment in key databases were reviewed,with coding methods used to identify impact categories from SLS exposure without potential narration *** on the limited number of studies on SLS,there is empirical evidence of this surfactant contributing to environmental toxicity at various concentrations(0.004-3509 mg L^(-1)),with aquatic organisms at a higher risk from ***,exposure to SLS can elicit changes to various organismic processes and environmental ***,further study on SLS in various environmental compartments is recommended to monitor the level of SLS pollution,understand its behavior upon contact with various environmental media,and understand its impacts on flora and ***,SLS quantification should be done on commonly used consumer products to potentially regulate its use and to consequently curb SLS pollution from its source.

In this paper we study the effect of rolling friction on the dynamics in a single spout fluidized bed using Discrete Element Method （DEM） coupled to computational Fluid Dynamics （cFD）. In a first step we neglect rolling friction and show that the results delivered by the open source cFD-DEM framework applied in this study agree with previous simulations documented in literature. In a second step we include a rolling friction sub-model in order to investigate the effect of particle non-sphericity. The influence of particle-particle as well as particle-wall rolling friction on the flow in single spout fluidized bed is studied separately. Adequate rolling friction model parameters are obtained using first principle DEM simulations and data from literature. Finally, we demonstrate the importance of correct modelling of rolling friction for coupled cFD-DEM simulations of spout fluidized beds. We show that simulation results can be improved significantly when applying a rolling friction model, and that experimental data from literature obtained with Positron Emission Particle Trackin~ fPEPT） technique can be satisfactorily reoroduced.

Soil temperature modifies effects of soil biota on plant growth

Aims Plants directly and indirectly interact with many abiotic and biotic soil *** so far mostly focused on direct,indi-vidual abiotic or biotic effects on plant growth,but only few studies tested the indirect effects of abiotic soil factors on plant ***,we investigated how abiotic soil conditions affect plant performance,via changes induced by soil *** In a full-factorial experiment,we grew the widespread grass Dactylis glomerata either with or without soil biota and investigated the impact of soil temperature,fertility and moisture on the soil biota effects on plant *** measured biomass production,root traits and colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi as well as microbial *** Findings We found significant interaction effects between abiotic soil con-ditions and soil biota on plant growth for fertility,but especially for soil temperature,as an increase of 10°c significantly changed the soil biota effects on plant growth from positive to ***,if tested individually,an increase in soil temperature and fertility per se positively affected plant biomass production,whereas soil biota per se did not affect overall plant growth,but both influenced root *** affecting soil microbial activ-ity and root architecture,soil temperature might influence both mutualistic and pathogenic interactions between plants and soil *** soil temperature effects should be considered in soil feedback studies to ensure greater transferability of results from artificial and experimental conditions to natural environmental conditions.

Effect of Processing and cultivar on Thermo-chemical Properties of Australian-Grown Hemp Hurd(cannabis sativa L.)

This study explored the thermo-chemical properties of industrial hemp hurd with different provenances,maturity stages,and retting *** findings were then compared to hemp hurd used in the fabrication of citric acid-bonded ultra-low-density hemp hurd ***-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(Py-Gc/MS),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)were employed to document the variability of the hurd and comprehend the potential impact on biobased composite *** choice of cultivar,maturity stage,and processing modality significantly influenced the chemical composition,presence of functional groups,and thermal stability of the ***-Gc/MS revealed substantial variations in the lignin-to-carbohydrate(L/c)ratio,along with the absence of fatty acids in certain *** FTIR signals confirmed consistent functional groups,differences in peak intensities were indicative of carbohydrate variations associated with maturity and retting duration,impacting the availability of hydroxyl groups for,i.e.,interparticle bonding in citric acid-based ***,it was observed that shorter retting durations initially enhanced the thermal resistance,but prolonged retting led to accelerated degradation,significantly reducing the hurd’s residual *** findings indicated notable differences among the samples,emphasizing the importance of investigating variables such as provenance/cultivar,maturity,and processing *** assessment is essential to ensure effective agronomic practices that align the raw material characteristics with the specific requirements of intended applications,such as the fabrication of biobased hemp hurd composites.
