Green manure cover crops(GMCCs)planting has a potential for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions(GHG)in agroecosystems and provides important ecosystem services,thereby achieving the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)stipulated by the United ***,the advantages of cultivating GMCCs on arable land are not widely *** example,in the whole of China,the GMCCs planting area is less than 3.5%of total arable *** aim of this study is to explore reasons for the low adoption rate of GMCCs *** best–worst scaling(BWS)approach,farmers ranked their preferred conservation practices including three types of GMCC cropping *** Gansu Province in Northwest China as a case study,a survey with 276 farmers was *** findings indicated that three factors are related to the low adoption rate of GMCCs:1)farmers preferred improving farmland irrigation facilities and substituting chemical fertilizers with organic rather than planting GMCCs;2)lack of awareness and understanding of government policy on GMCCs and limited access to training courses;3)financial support and subsidies from the government are *** study provides insights and strategic implications for policymakers on how to further promote GMCCs in the future.

The heart’s lymphatic network is essential for maintaining fluid and immune cell *** vessels return interstitial fluid to the bloodstream,transport macromolecules such as proteins and lipids,and clear the heart of inflammatory cells.1 Several studies have demonstrated the importance of cardiac lymphatics and lymphangiogenesis(the formation of new lymphatic vessels from pre-existing vessels)in settings of cardiac pathology.2-6 Blocking endogenous lymphangiogenesis during myocardial infarction exacerbates myocardial edema and cardiac inflammation and fibrosis,while enhancing lymphangiogenesis attenuates ischemia-induced heart failure and pressure overload-induced cardiac dysfunction.3-5 Collectively,these studies identify stimulation of lymphangiogenesis as a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and heart failure.

Background:The Norwegian forest resource map(SR16)maps forest attributes by combining national forest inventory(NFI),airborne laser scanning(ALS)and other remotely sensed *** the ALS data were acquired over a time interval of 10 years using various sensors and settings,the NFI data are continuously *** of this study were to analyze the effects of stratification on models linking remotely sensed and field data,and assess the accuracy overall and at the ALS project *** and methods:The model dataset consisted of 9203 NFI field plots and data from 367 ALS projects,covering 17 Mha and 2/3 of the productive forest in ***-effects regression models were used to account for differences among ALS *** types of stratification were used to fit models:1)stratification by the three main tree species groups spruce,pine and deciduous resulted in species-specific models that can utilize a satellite-based species map for improving predictions,and 2)stratification by species and maturity class resulted in stratum-specific models that can be used in forest management inventories where each stand regularly is visually stratified *** models were compared to general models that were fit without stratifying the ***:The species-specific models had relative root-mean-squared errors(RMSEs)of 35%,34%,31%,and 12% for volume,aboveground biomass,basal area,and Lorey’s height,*** RMSEs were 2-7 percentage points(pp)smaller than those of general *** validating using predicted species,RMSEs were 0-4 *** than those of general *** stratified by main species and maturity class further improved RMSEs compared to species-specific models by up to 1.8 *** mixed-effects models over ordinary least squares models resulted in a decrease of RMSE for timber volume of 1.0-3.9 pp.,depending on the main tree *** for timber volume ranged between 19%-59% among individual ALS ***

Digital light projector systems are crucial components in applications,including computational imaging,fluorescence microscopy,and highly parallel data *** technology based on digital micromirror displays are limited to absolute frame rates in the few tens of kiloframes per second and require the use of external light sources and coupling ***,to realize gray-scale pixel values using duty cycle control,frame rates are reduced proportionally to the number of gray levels *** we present a self-emissive chip-scale projector system based on micro-LED pixels directly bonded to a smart pixel CMOS drive *** 128×128 pixel array can project binary patterns at up to 0.5 Mfps and toggle between two stored frames at megahertz *** projector has a 5-bit gray-scale resolution that can be updated at up to 83 kfps,and can be held in memory as a constant bias for the binary pattern ***,the projector can be operated in a pulsed mode,with individual pixels emitting pulses down to a few nanoseconds in ***,this mode can be used in conjunction with the high-speed spatial pattern *** a demonstration of the data throughput achievable with this system,we present an optical camera communications application,exhibiting data rates of>5 Gb/s.

Today steel is produced by two steelmaking processes, the basic oxygen furnace and the electric arc furnace, Three types of iron input materials for both processes are liquid hot metal or in solidified form as pig iron, direct reduced iron （DRI） and hot briquetted iron （HB1） as well as steel scrap. Hot metal, pig iron, DRI and HBI are virgin iron materials, which have to be produced from iron ore by the so-called ironmaking technologies. New ironmaking processes based on fluidized bed technology have been developed in the last two decades. The main advantage of these technologies is that fine ore can be directly used in the processes and prior treatment such as sintering or pelletizing can be avoided which is required for the established processes. Theoretical aspects for reduction of fine iron oxides in a fluidized bed reactor system will be explained. The fluidized bed reducing technologies utilized in the most advanced new ironmaking processes for direct use of fine ore, FINMET, Circored, FINEX~ and Hismelt will be compared.

A laboratory fluidized bed reactor was used to investigate the fluidization behavior and reducibility of various iron ore *** was chosen as a reducing agent across a temperature range of 873-1073 *** magnetite ore used exhibited strong sticking behavior after the initiation of metallic iron *** other tested ores fluidized sufficiently well when subjected to the same high reduction *** kinetic analysis was conducted using a previously developed model to include three rate-limiting step *** trend of apparent activation energy was correlated with the degree of ***,the influence of varying the specific gas rate was *** results show the variation in reducibility as a result of different interactions,which influence the rate-limiting mechanisms of nucleation and the undertaken chemical reactions,which vary as a function of temperature and degree of *** apparent activation energies,determined from the reduction of wtistite to metallic iron,were in the range of 15-60 kJ/mol,depending on the iron ore used and the degree of *** change in apparent activation energy deriving from the increased specific gas rate can be explained by an increasing nucleation effect,especially at lower reduction temperatures.

The synthesis of ultrathin rhenium disulfide(ReS_(2))nanoribbons within single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs)has been *** decacarbonyl complex is encapsulated into the SWNTs to provide a source of confined rhenium atoms,which readily react with iodine to form discrete nm-sized clusters of rhenium iodide[Re_(6)l_(14)]^(2-) embedded in the *** final step of the synthesis is accomplished by admitting hydrogen sulfide gas into nano test tubes,yielding twisted nanoribbons of rhenium disulfide encapsulated in carbon nanotubes,ReS_(2)@*** width,structure,and composition of rhenium disulfide nanoribbons are strictly controlled by the extreme confinement of the host-SWNT.A holistic analytical approach combining complementary imaging and analysis methods is used at each synthetic step to elucidate the structure and composition of the guest material and reveal the role of the SWNT contributing towards the electronic interactions with encapsulated inorganic *** ReS_(2) nanoribbons are expected to retain the electronic properties of the bulk material,such as direct bandgap,the low dimensional form of this material can be of interest for use in nanoscale electronic devices.

We investigate the magnetism of a previously unexplored distorted spin-1/2 kagome model consisting of three symmetry-inequivalent nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic Heisenberg couplings J_(■),J,and J′,and uncover a rich ground state phase diagram even at the classical *** analytical arguments and numerical techniques we identify a collinear Q^(→)=0 magnetic phase,two unusual non-collinear coplanar Q^(→)=(1/3,1/3)phases and a classical spin liquid phase with a degenerate manifold of non-coplanar ground states,resembling the jammed spin liquid phase found in the context of a bond-disordered kagome *** further show with density functional theory calculations that the recently synthesized Y-kapellasite Y_(3)Cu_(9)(OH)_(19)C_(l8) is a realization of this model and predict its ground state to lie in the region of Q^(→)=(1/3,1/3)order,which remains stable even after the inclusion of quantum fluctuation effects within variational Monte Carlo and pseudofermion functional renormalization *** presented model opens a new direction in the study of kagome antiferromagnets.

Storage roots of cassava plants crops are one of the main providers of starch in many South American,African,and Asian *** varieties with high yields is crucial for growing and *** requires a better understanding of the dynamics of storage root formation,which is usually done by repeated manual evaluation of root types,diameters,and their distribution in excavated *** introduce a newly developed method that is capable to analyze the distribution of root diameters automatically,even if root systems display strong variations in root widths and clustering in high *** application study was conducted with cassava roots imaged in a video acquisition *** root diameter distribution was quantified automatically using an iterative ridge detection approach,which can cope with a wide span of root diameters and *** approach was validated with virtual root models of known geometries and then tested with a time-series of excavated root *** on the retrieved diameter classes,we show plausibly that the dynamics of root type formation can be monitored qualitatively and *** conclude that this new method reliably determines important phenotypic traits from storage root crop *** method is fast and robustly analyses complex root systems and thereby applicable in high-throughput phenotyping and future breeding.
