Understanding how summer warming inﬂuences the parent and daughter shoot production in a perennial clonal grass is vital for comprehending the response of grassland productivity to global ***,we conducted a simulated experiment using potted Leymus chinensis,to study the relationship between the photosynthetic activ-ity of parent shoots and the production of daughter shoots under a whole(90 days)summer warming scenario(+3°C).The results showed that the biomass of parents and buds decreased by 25.52%and 33.45%,respectively,under warming *** reduction in parent shoot biomass due to warming directly resulted from decreased leaf area(18.03%),chlorophyll a(18.27%),chlorophyll b(29.21%)content,as well as a reduction in net photosynthetic rate(7.32%)and the maximum quantum efﬁciency of photosystem II(PSII)photochemistry(4.29%).The decline in daughter shoot biomass was linked to a decrease in daughter shoot number(33.33%)by ***,the number of belowground buds increased by 46.43%.The results indicated that long-term summer warming reduces biomass accumulation in parent shoot by increasing both limitation of stoma and ***,the parent shoot allocates relatively more biomass to the belowground organs to maintain the survival and growth of ***,buds,as a potential aboveground population,could remedy for the cur-rent loss of parent shoot density by increasing the number of future daughter shoots if summer warming subsides.

背景要理解诊断准确性研究的结果,读者必须了解其设计、实施、分析及结果。这只能通过作者完全公开研究资料才能实现。目的提高诊断准确性研究报告的准确性和完整性,以便读者评估研究的偏倚可能性及推广性。方法诊断准确性研究报告标准(STARD)指导委员会通过文献检索,找出正确实施和报告的诊断性试验,并提取可能有用的条目形成一份泛表。再由研究人员、编辑及相关专业组织成员在为期两天的共识会议中对这份泛表进行缩减,以制定出一份诊断准确性研究的清单和通用流程图。结果检索已发表的诊断性研究指南,共找到33份清单,从中提取出75项可能有用的条目。根据当前可得的所有提示偏倚的证据,将之缩减至25项条目。制定出的典型流程图提供了招募患者的方法、执行“诊断措施”的顺序及接受试验诊断措施或／和金标准诊断措施的患者人数等信息。结论判断研究的价值有赖于完整、准确的报告。若医学期刊采用此清单和流程图,诊断准确性研究报告的质量将会有所提高,更好地服务于临床医生、研究人员、评价者、期刊及公众。

Peripheral nerve injuries induce a severe motor and sensory deficit. Since the availability of autologous nerve transplants for nerve repair is very limited, alternative treatment strategies are sought, including the use of tubular nerve guidance conduits(tNGCs). However, the use of tNGCs results in poor functional recovery and central necrosis of the regenerating tissue, which limits their application to short nerve lesion defects(typically shorter than 3 cm). Given the importance of vascularization in nerve regeneration, we hypothesized that enabling the growth of blood vessels from the surrounding tissue into the regenerating nerve within the tNGC would help eliminate necrotic processes and lead to improved regeneration. In this study, we reported the application of macroscopic holes into the tubular walls of silk-based tNGCs and compared the various features of these improved silk^(+) tNGCs with the tubes without holes(silk^(–) tNGCs) and autologous nerve transplants in an 8-mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. Using a combination of micro-computed tomography and histological analyses, we were able to prove that the use of silk^(+) tNGCs induced the growth of blood vessels from the adjacent tissue to the intraluminal neovascular formation. A significantly higher number of blood vessels in the silk^(+) group was found compared with autologous nerve transplants and silk^(–), accompanied by improved axon regeneration at the distal coaptation point compared with the silk^(–) tNGCs at 7 weeks postoperatively. In the 15-mm(critical size) sciatic nerve defect model, we again observed a distinct ingrowth of blood vessels through the tubular walls of silk^(+) tNGCs, but without improved functional recovery at 12 weeks postoperatively. Our data proves that macroporous tNGCs increase the vascular supply of regenerating nerves and facilitate improved axonal regeneration in a short-defect model but not in a critical-size defect model. Neural networks(NNs)often assign high confidence to their predictions,even for points far out of distribution,making uncertainty quantification(UQ)a *** they are employed to model interatomic potentials in materials systems,this problem leads to unphysical structures that disrupt simulations,or to biased statistics and dynamics that do not reflect the true *** UQ techniques can find new informative data and drive active learning loops for robust ***,a variety of UQ techniques,including newly developed ones,exist for atomistic simulations and there are no clear guidelines for which are most effective or suitable for a given *** this work,we examine multiple UQ schemes for improving the robustness of NN interatomic potentials(NNIPs)through active *** particular,we compare incumbent ensemble-based methods against strategies that use single,deterministic NNs:mean-variance estimation(MVE),deep evidential regression,and Gaussian mixture models(GMM).We explore three datasets ranging from in-domain interpolative learning to more extrapolative out-of-domain generalization challenges:rMD17,ammonia inversion,and bulk silica *** is measured across multiple metrics relating model error to *** experiments show that none of the methods consistently outperformed each other across the various *** remained better at generalization and for NNIP robustness;MVE only proved effective for in-domain interpolation,while GMM was better out-of-domain;and evidential regression,despite its promise,was not the preferable alternative in any of the *** broadly,cost-effective,single deterministic models cannot yet consistently match or outperform ensembling for uncertainty quantification in NNIPs.

Storage roots of cassava plants crops are one of the main providers of starch in many South American,African,and Asian *** varieties with high yields is crucial for growing and *** requires a better understanding of the dynamics of storage root formation,which is usually done by repeated manual evaluation of root types,diameters,and their distribution in excavated *** introduce a newly developed method that is capable to analyze the distribution of root diameters automatically,even if root systems display strong variations in root widths and clustering in high *** application study was conducted with cassava roots imaged in a video acquisition *** root diameter distribution was quantified automatically using an iterative ridge detection approach,which can cope with a wide span of root diameters and *** approach was validated with virtual root models of known geometries and then tested with a time-series of excavated root *** on the retrieved diameter classes,we show plausibly that the dynamics of root type formation can be monitored qualitatively and *** conclude that this new method reliably determines important phenotypic traits from storage root crop *** method is fast and robustly analyses complex root systems and thereby applicable in high-throughput phenotyping and future breeding.

Due to its ubiquitous presence in the environment and the lack of a scientific consensus regarding the environmental safety of the widely used anionic surfactant Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(CAS No:151-21-3),a systematic literature review and thematic analysis was *** studies about sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS)in the environment in key databases were reviewed,with coding methods used to identify impact categories from SLS exposure without potential narration *** on the limited number of studies on SLS,there is empirical evidence of this surfactant contributing to environmental toxicity at various concentrations(0.004-3509 mg L^(-1)),with aquatic organisms at a higher risk from ***,exposure to SLS can elicit changes to various organismic processes and environmental ***,further study on SLS in various environmental compartments is recommended to monitor the level of SLS pollution,understand its behavior upon contact with various environmental media,and understand its impacts on flora and ***,SLS quantification should be done on commonly used consumer products to potentially regulate its use and to consequently curb SLS pollution from its source.
