We rep.rt the discovery of a p.cu.iar X-ray transient,Ep.40408a,by Einstein p.obe （Ep. and follow-u.0}stu.ies made with Ep.Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other grou.d-based mu.tiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescop. （WXT） on board Ep.on Ap.il 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a p.ak flu. of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 keV,300 times brighter than the u.derlying X-ray emission detected throu.hou. the *** and more p.ecise follow-u.0}observations by Ep.FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray sp.ctru. is non-thermal in 0.5-10 keV,with a p.wer-law p.oton index varying *** X-ray light cu.ve shows a p.ateau.lasting for4d,followed by a steep.decay till becoming u.detectable10 d after the initial *** on its temp.ral p.op.rty and constraints from p.eviou. Ep.observations,an u.u.u.l timescale in the range of 7-23 d is fou.d for Ep.40408a,which is intermediate between the commonly fou.d fast and long-term *** cou.terp.rts have been fou.d in op.ical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,su.gestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable p.op.rties of Ep.40408a are inconsistent with any of the transient typ.s known so far,by comp.rison with,in p.rticu.ar,jetted tidal disru.0}ion events,gamma-ray bu.sts,X-ray binaries and fast blu. op.ical *** natu.e of Ep.40408a thu. remains an *** su.gest that Ep.40408a may rep.esent a new typ. of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of10 *** detection and follow-u.0} of more of su.h objects are essential for revealing their origin.

Backgrou.d:u.resectable disease is sometimes diagnosed du.ing su.gery in p.tients with p.ncreatic du.tal adenocarcinoma(p.AC).This stu.y aimed to identify p.eop.rative risk factors for metastatic disease diagnosed at su.gical exp.oration and to investigate and comp.re su.vival in resected and nonresected ***:p.tients were identified from the Swedish National p.ncreatic and p.riamp.llary Cancer Registry *** of metastatic disease were evalu.ted with a mu.tivariable logistic regression model,and su.vival was evalu.ted with Kap.an-Meier estimates and log-rank ***:In total,1938 p.tients with p.AC were schedu.ed for *** u.resectable situ.tion was diagnosed intraop.ratively in 399 p.tients(20.6%),inclu.ing 234(12.1%)with metastasized *** risk factors for metastasis were involu.tary weight loss(OR=1.72;95%CI:1.27-2.33)and elevated carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)(35-599 u.m L,OR=1.79,95%CI:1.11-2.89;≥600 u.m L,OR=3.24,95%CI:2.04-5.17).Overall su.vival was lower among p.tients with metastasized disease than that among p.tients with a resectable tu.or(p.0.001).Conclu.ions:Involu.tary weight loss and an elevation of CA19-9 are p.eop.rative risk factors for diagnosing metastasized disease du.ing su.gical exp.oration.

Backgrou.d： Mu.cle growth dep.nds on the fu.ion of p.oliferate satellite cells to existing myofibers. We rep.rted p.eviou.ly that 0-14 day intermittent feeding led to p.rsistent retardation in myofiber hyp.rtrop.y. However, how satellite cells resp.nd to su.h nu.ritional insu.t has not been adequ.tely elu.idated. Resu.ts： One-day-old broiler chicks were allocated to control （Con, ad libitu. feeding）, intermittent feeding （IF, feed p.ovided on alternate days） and re-feeding （RF, 2 days ad libitu. feeding after 12 days of intermittent feeding） grou.0}. Chickens were killed on Day 15 and satellite cells were isolated. When cu.tu.ed, satellite cells from the IF grou.0}demonstrated significant retardation in p.oliferation and differentiation p.tential, while RF p.rtly restored the p.oliferation rate and differentiation p.tential of the satellite cells. Significant u.0}regu.ation of insu.in like growth factor I recep.or （IGF-IR）（p.O.05） and thyroid hormone recep.or o （TRo）（p.O.05）, and down-regu.ation of growth hormone recep.or （GHR）（p.O.01） and IGF-I （p.O.01） mRNA exp.ession was observed in freshly isolated IF satellite cells when comp.red with Con cells. In RF cells, the mRNA exp.ession of IGF-I was higher （p.O.05） and of TRa was lower （p.O.01） than in IF cells, su.gesting that RF restored the mRNA exp.ession of TRa and IGF-I, bu. not of GHR and IGF-IR. The Bax/Bcl-2 ratio tended to increase in the IF grou.0} which was reversed in the RF grou.0}（p.O.05）, indicating that RF redu.ed the p.o-ap.p.otic influ.nce of iF. Moreover, no significant effect of T3 was detected on cell su.vival in IF cells comp.red with Con （p.O.O01） or RF （p.O.05） cells. Conclu.ions： These data su.gest that early-age feed restriction inhibits the p.oliferation and differentiation of satellite cells, indu.es changes in mRNA exp.ession of the GH/IGF-I and thyroid hormone recep.ors in satellite cells, as well as blu.ted sensitivity of satellite cells to T3, and that RF p.rtially reverses these effects.

Backgrou.d:Liver resection and local ablation are the only cu.ative treatment for non-cirrhotic hep.tocellu.ar carcinoma(HCC).Few data exist concerning the p.ognosis of p.tients resected for non-cirrhotic *** objectives of this stu.y were to determine the p.ognostic factors of recu.rence-free su.vival(RFS)and overall su.vival(OS)and to develop.a p.ognostication algorithm for non-cirrhotic ***:French mu.ticenter retrosp.ctive stu.y inclu.ing HCC p.tients with non-cirrhotic liver withou. u.derlying viral hep.titis:F0,F1 or F2 ***:A total of 467 p.tients were inclu.ed in 11 centers from 2010 to ***-cirrhotic liver had a fibrosis score of F0(n=237,50.7%),F1(n=127,27.2%)or F2(n=103,22.1%).OS and RFS at 5 years were 59.2%and 34.5%,*** mu.tivariate analysis,microvascu.ar invasion and HCC differentiation were p.ognostic factors of OS and RFS and the nu.ber and size were p.ognostic factors of RFS(p.0.005).Stratification based on RFS p.ovided an algorithm based on size(p.0.013)and nu.ber(p.0.001):2 HCC with the largest nodu.e≤10 cm(n=271,Grou.0}1);2 HCC with a nodu.e>10 cm(n=176,Grou.0}2);>2 HCC regardless of size Conclu.ions:We develop.d a p.ognostication algorithm based on the nu.ber(≤or>2)and size(≤or>10 cm),which cou.d be u.ed as a treatment decision su.0}ort concerning the need for p.riop.rative *** case of bifocal HCC,su.gery shou.d not be a contraindication.
