Results of percutaneous sclerotherapy and surgical treatment in patients with symptomatic simple liver cysts and polycystic liver disease

AIm: To evaluate the results of the treatment of simple liver cysts (solitary and multiple) and polycystic liver disease (PLD) using percutaneous sclerotherapy and/or surgical procedures in a single tertiary referral centre. mETHODS: Retrospective analysis of 54 patients referred for evaluation and possible treatment of simple liver cysts (solitary and multiple) and PLD, from January 1997 to July 2006. RESULTS: Simple liver cysts were treated in 41 pts (76/) with a mean size of 12.6 cm. The most common reason for referral was abdominal pain or discomfort (85/). Percutaneous sclerotherapy was performed as initial treatment in 30 pts, showing cyst recurrence in 6 pts (20/). Surgical treatment was initially performed in 11 pts with cyst recurrence in 3 pts (27/). PLD was treated in 13 pts (24/) with a mean size of the dominant cyst of 13 cm. Percutaneous sclerotherapy for PLD was performed in 9 pts with recurrence in 7 pts (77.8/). Surgical treatment for PLD was undertaken in 4 pts (30.8/) with recurrence in all. Eventually, 2 pts with PLD in the presence of polycystic kidney disease underwent liver-and kidney transplantation because of deterioration of liver and kidney function. CONCLUSION: The majority of patients with simple liver cysts and PLD are referred for progressive abdominal pain. As initial treatment, percutaneous sclerotherapy is appropriate. Surgical deroofing is indicated in caseof cyst recurrence after percutaneous sclerotherapy. However, the results of percutaneous sclerotherapy and surgical treatment for PLD are disappointing. Partial liver resection is indicated when there is suspicion of a pre-malignant lesion.

HBV-NP模型是新近开发的水质模型,它描述氮和磷的周转和通量,是在降水/径流HBV概念模型的基础上发展而来。HBV-NP模型被用来模拟瑞典南部伦讷(Rnnea)河流域的氮量。本模型中,伦讷河流域被分为64个子流域,使用了6个站的流量测值和12个站的氮量测值来校准参数,结合不同的时间段、目标函数及氮负荷水平执行了8个自动校准。校准使用了Nash-Sutcliffe R^2标准的一种地区性扩展解释。对此标准进行评估时,时间步长和采样点都做了误差加和。此后,用由校准得来的8套参数进行了将入海氮负荷削减30%的组合措施的情景模拟。模型参数并非惟一由校准定义的,然而,在现有输入来源、变量及数据条件下,模拟的入海氮负荷的相关减少量对参数设置的选择来说并不多么敏感。

Since 2007,the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC)has heavily relied on the comparison between global climate model hindcasts and global surface temperature(ST)estimates for concluding that post-1950s global warming is mostly *** Connolly et al.,we cautioned that this approach to the detection and attribution of climate change was highly dependent on the choice of Total Solar Irradiance(TSI)and ST data *** compiled 16 TSI and five ST data sets and found by altering the choice of TSI or ST,one could(prematurely)conclude anything from the warming being“mostly human-caused”to“mostly natural.”Richardson and Benestad suggested our analysis was“erroneous”and“flawed”because we did not use a multilinear *** argued that applying a multilinear regression to one of the five ST series re-affirmed the IPCC's attribution *** also objected that many of the published TSI data sets were ***,here we show that when applying multilinear regression analysis to an expanded and updated data set of 27 TSI series,the original conclusions of Connolly et *** confirmed for all five ST data ***,it is still unclear whether the observed warming is mostly human-caused,mostly natural or some combination of both.

Association of colorectal cancer with pathogenic Escherichia coli: Focus on mechanisms using optical imaging

AIm: To investigate the molecular or cellular mechanisms related to the infection of epithelial colonic mucosa by pks-positive Escherichia coli(E. coli) using optical ***: We choose to evaluate the tumor metabolic activity using a fluorodeoxyglucose analogue as 2-deoxyglucosone fluorescent probes and to correlate it with tumoral volume(mm^3). Inflammation measuring myeloperoxidase(mPO) activity and reactive oxygen species production was monitored by a bioluminescent(BLI) inflammation probe and related to histological examination and mPO levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) on tumor specimens. The detection and quantitation of these two signals were validated on a xenograft model of human colon adenocarcinoma epithelial cells(HCT116) in nude mice infected with a pks-positive E. coli. The inflammatory BLI signal was validated intra-digestively in the colitisCEABAC10 DSS models, which mimicked Crohn's disease. RESULTS: Using a 2-deoxyglucosone fluorescent probe, we observed a high and specific HCT116 tumor uptake in correlation with tumoral volume(P = 0.0036). Using the inflammation probe targeting mPO, we detected a rapid systemic elimination and a significant increase of the BLI signal in the pks-positive E. coli-infected HCT116 xenograft group(P med that mPO levels were significantly higher(1556 ± 313.6 vs 234.6 ± 121.6 ng/m L P = 0.001) in xenografts infected with the pathogenic E. coli strain. moreover, histological examination of tumor samples confirmed massive infiltration of pks-positive E. coli-infected HCT116 tumors by inflammatory cells compared to the uninfected group. These data showed that infection with the pathogenic E. coli strain enhanced inflammation and ROS production in tumors before tumor growth. moreover, we demonstrated that the intra-digestive monitoring of inflammation is feasible in a reference colitis murine model(CEABAC10/DSS).CONCLUSION: Using BLI and fluorescence optical imaging, we provided

Impact of Bisphenol A (BPA) and Free Fatty Acids (FFA) on Th2 Cytokine Secretion from INS-1 Cells

Bisphenol A (BPA) is used in huge amounts for many plastic products and is a hormone (estrogen) disrupting agent. BPA as well as FFAs may be deleterious for the immune system. The aim was to identify Th2 cytokines and some of their signal transduction mechanisms in INS-1 cells, an insulin secreting cell line. Screening using a proteome profile indicated an increase of IL-1, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-13 and IL-17 by BPA. Also FFAs (in combination with LPS) were positive. In detailed quantitative measurements, these results were confirmedly indicating a complex array of pro-and anti-inflammatory potential. The interaction of BPA with 17β-estradiol was non-additive with respect to IL-4 and IL-6 release and additive with respect to FFA interaction indicating same and different mechanisms of action, respecttively. As signal transduction PI3K (Wortmannin-sensitive) and STAT-3/6 (Tofacitinib-sensitive) are involved in various effects, INS-1 cells release several cytokines due to BPA and FFA attack which may be involved in disturbance of glucose homoeostasis and type 1 diabetes.

从川西牧区采集的自然发酵酸乳中分离到109株乳酸细菌,通过在牛乳中的传代发酵试验、冷藏过程中活菌数的测定、产乙醛和双乙酰能力的测定及感官综合评价等试验,筛选出6株遗传性状稳定、凝乳状态好、风味独特且后酸性好的乳酸菌菌株,其中杆菌2株,球菌4株,经形态特征、生理生化特性和唯一碳源试验的测定,将这6株细菌初步鉴定为德氏乳杆菌保加利亚亚种(***)、肠乳杆菌(***)、嗜热链球菌(***)、乳酸乳球菌(Lactococcuslactic)、肠膜明串珠菌葡聚糖亚种(*** icum.)。

结合精确度和稳定性的要求提出了一种适合宽范围电容负载的CmOS运放.在多径嵌套式密勒补偿结构中加入一个抑制电容,得到适合各种电容负载的稳定性.为了证实稳定性的提高,对该结构进行了理论分析并计算得出数学表达式.基于这种新的频率补偿结构,利用CmOS 0.7μm工艺模型设计了样品芯片.测试结果表明该运放可以驱动从100 pF到100μF负载电容,直流增益为90dB,最小相位裕度为26°.该运放在100 pF负载情况下单位增益带宽为1 mHz,抑制电容仅为18 pF.
