Investigation of hcAR2 antagonists as a potential strategy to modulate bovine leukocytes

Background Dairy cows experiencing ketosis after calving suffer greater disease incidence and are at greater risk of leaving the herd. In vitro administration of beta-hydroxybutyric acid(BhBA;the primary blood ketone) has inhibitory effects on the function of bovine leukocytes. BhBA is a ligand of hcAR2 and the activation of these receptors promotes an anti-inflammatory response which may be related with immunosuppression observed in transition dairy cattle. The objective of this study was to identify and test antagonists for hcAR2 in bovine immune cells cultured with *** We observed expression of hcAR2 at the protein level within lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes. The proportion of cells expressing hcAR2 tended to be greater in mid-lactation compared to early lactation cows;the increase was a result of increased proportion of T and B cells expressing hcAR2. Stimulation of hcAR2 with niacin or BhBA promoted ca^(2+) mobilization in neutrophils and mononuclear cells. Mononuclear cells treated with BhBA had diminished intracellular ca^(2+) responses when hcAR2 was knocked down by si RnA silencing, indicating ca^(2+) mobilization was mediated by hcAR2 signaling. Two candidate antagonists for hcAR2, synthesized from niacin(nA-1 and nA-5), were tested;monocytes and neutrophils pre-treated with nA-1 and nA-5 had reduced ca^(2+) mobilization after incubation with BhBA. Furthermore, nA-5 but not nA-1 prevented BhBA-associated reductions in cyclic *** We demonstrated that hcAR2 is present on bovine leukocytes and has greater expression later in lactation. We confirmed that BhBA and niacin derived hcAR2 antagonists alter bovine leukocyte activity. Our results demonstrate that both BhBA and niacin affect bovine leukocyte ca^(2+) mobilization in a hcAR2-dependent manner.

Efficiency of Bio-Fertilizing as One of the natural Alternatives to Improve the Growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni Trees and for Sustainability

A field experiment was carried out at Ismailia Research Station, Ismailia Governorate from 2020-2022 to improve the growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni by using a combination of mineral fertilizer (nPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum, Bacillus megatherium, and Bacillus circulant) as recommended dose under new sandy soils conditions. Split plot designed with four treatments (control, (50% Mineral fertilizer (M.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% M. and 100% Bio.) of each species. Vegetative growth, leaf area, tree biomass, stored carbon, basal area, tree volume, and in the soil both of microbial account and mineral content were determined. The experimental results showed no significant differences between studied species among the most studied parameters except for Khaya senegalensis which gave the highest significant difference in root biomass and below-stored carbon than Swietenia mahagoni. Evidently, the highest significant growth parameters were 100% mineral fertilizer followed by (50% M. + 50% Bio.) as compared with control. no significant difference between 100% M. and (50% M. + 50% Bio.) of shoot dry biomass (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 Mt, respectively). Microbial account and mineral content in soil were improved after cultivation of tree species compared to before planting and control, especially with 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatment. In conclusion, a treatment containing 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer has led to the ideal Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni growth in sandy soil for cheaper and sustainable.

Artificial intelligence(AI)as a multi-purpose technology is gaining increased attention and is now widely used across all sectors of the *** growing complexity of planning and operating power systems makes AI extremely valuable for the power *** now,there has been a lack of clarity regarding the specific points along the power system supply chain where AI applications demonstrate significant value,as well as which AI domains are best suited for such *** study employs an AI taxonomy and automated web search to qualitatively and quantitatively unveil the biggest potentials of AI in the power *** analysis,based on a review of 258’919 publications between 1982 and 2022,reveals where AI applications are particularly *** consider six AI domains(reasoning,planning,learning,communication,perception,integration&interaction)and 19 use cases from the power supply chain(i.e.,generation,transmission networks,distribution networks,isolated grids/microgrids,market operations and retail).Our findings indicate that,as of now,the focus is predominantly on AI applications in power retail(55%),transmission(14%)and generation(13%).Most analyzed works describe applications built on algorithms of the AI domains“learning”(45%)and“planning”(14%).Results also suggest that the current definition of AI domains is ambiguous,and they highlight missing information on the actual use and successful implementation of AI in power system use cases.

We report on the structural,magnetic,and magnetocaloric properties of EuRhO_(3) *** oxidation states of Eu and Rh ions were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is found that the Eu ions are mainly in the divalent oxidation state while the Rh ions have+4 ***_(3) powders are found to be antiferromagnetic with a second order magnetic transition at neel temperature(T_(n)=2.9 K).Analysis of the magnetic susceptibility versus temperature data in terms of the curie=Weiss law:(χ=c/(T-θ_(W))) for T>T_(n),yields θ_(W)=-3.1 K and effective magne tic moment μ_(ff)^(exp),which is close to the theoretical value μ_(eff)^(theo).The magnetic entropy change(-Δ_(SM)),was determined by em ploying the thermodynam ic Maxwell's *** μ_0h=5 T and near T_(n),ΔS_(M)^(Max) and relative cooling power(RcP) exhibit large values of 33.7 J/(kg·K) and 238 J/kg,*** large magnitude of-Δ_(SM) and RcP show that the EuRhO_(3) compound could be a potential candidate to be used in cryogenic magnetic refrigeration.
