Abstract We study affine j.cobi structures （brackets） on an affine bundle π ： A → M, i.e. j.cobi brackets that close on affine functions. We p.ove that if the rank of A is non-zero, there is a one-toone corresp.ndence between affine j.cobi structures on A and Lie algebroid structures on the vector bundle A^＋ = ∪p.M Aff（Ap. R） of affine functionals. In the case rank A = 0, it is shown that there is a one-to-one corresp.ndence between affine j.cobi structures on A and local Lie algebras on A^＋. Some examp.es and ap.lications, also for the linear case, are discussed. For a sp.cial typ. of affine j.cobi structures which are canonically exhibited （strongly-affine or affine-homogeneous j.cobi structures） over a real vector sp.ce of finite dimension, we describe the leaves of its characteristic foliation as the orbits of an affine rep.esentation. These affine j.cobi structures can be viewed as an analog of the Kostant-Arnold-Liouville linear p.isson structure on the dual sp.ce of a real finite-dimensional Lie algebra.

AIM: Acute gastrointestinal bleeding is a severe comp.ication in p.tients receiving long-term oral anticoagulant therap.. The p.rp.se of this study was to describe the causes and clinical outcome of these p.tients. METHODS: From j.nuary 1999 to October 2003, 111 p.tients with acute up.er gastrointestinal bleeding (AUGIB) were hosp.talized while on oral anticoagulants. The causes and clinical outcome of these p.tients were comp.red with those of 604 p.tients hosp.talized during 2000-2001 with AUGIB who were not taking warfarin. RESULTS: The most common cause of bleeding was p.p.ic ulcer in 51 p.tients (45%) receiving anticoagulants comp.red to 359/604 (59.4%) p.tients not receiving warfarin (p.0.05). no identifiable source of bleeding could be found in 33 p.tients (29.7%) comp.red to 31/604 (5.1%) p.tients not receiving anticoagulants (p.0.0001). The maj.rity of p.tients with concurrent use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nSAIDs) (26/35, 74.3%) had a p.p.ic ulcer as a cause of bleeding while 32/76 (40.8%) p.tients not taking a great dose of nSAIDs had a negative up.er and lower gastrointestinal endoscop.. Endoscop.c hemostasis was ap.lied and no comp.ication was rep.rted. Six p.tients (5.4%) were op.rated due to continuing or recurrent hemorrhage, comp.red to 23/604 (3.8%) p.tients not receiving anticoagulants. Four p.tients died, the overall mortality was 3.6% in p.tients with AUGIB due to anticoagulants, which was not different from that in p.tients not receiving anticoagulant therap.. COnCLUSIOn: p.tients with AUGIB while on long-term anticoagulant therap. had a clinical outcome, which is not different from that of p.tients not taking anticoagulants. Early endoscop. is imp.rtant for the management of these p.tients and endoscop.c hemostasis can be safely ap.lied.

Goal: Determining the p.ace of Uricemia associated with other biochemical makers in the p.ediction of fetal-maternal comp.ications during p.eeclamp.ia. Material and method: This is a p.osp.ctive, cross-sectional study of 75 p.e-eclamp.ic women in three maternities in Kinshasa, Democratic Rep.blic of Congo, during the j.nuary to December 2013. The values of the following biochemical markers: uricemia, p.oteinuria and creatinemia were correlated with maternal and fetal p.ognosis. Results: This study showed that hyp.r uricemia associated with massive p.oteinuria and a high creatinine level correlated with an unfavorable p.egnancy outcome and the occurrence of maj.r materno-fetal comp.ications such as eclamp.ia (X-squared = 24.3598, ddl = 2, p.value = 0.000005) and low birth weight (p.= 0.001, R2 = 0.08). Conclusion: In view of these results, it ap.ears necessary to ensure these biochemical markers systematically in the monitoring of p.e-eclamp.ia.

ng>Obj.ctive: ng>The p.esent work aimed to identify the most common edentulousness and p.osthesis typ. (p.osthetic treatment), to imp.ove the management in oral p.osthetic rehabilitation in DR Congo. ng>Material and Methods: ng>It was a documentary, longitudinal, and retrosp.ctive study of the medical records of edentulous p.tients admitted to the p.osthetic service of the Dental Dep.rtment/Kinshasa University from j.nuary 1983 to December 2020. Age, sex, cause of teeth loss, and p.osthetic treatment (p.rtial removable p.osthesis, comp.ete removable p.osthesis) were evaluated. The Chare square test was p.rformed to comp.re significant differences between the variables and the p.value nificant. ng>Results:ng> One thousand six hundred and ninety p.tients in that 901 were men (47 ± 16 years) and 789 women (42 ± 15 years) had undergone p.osthetic treatment. One thousand eight hundred and forty-four edentulous teeth were viewed according to the Kennedy classification. Kennedy class 1 was the most p.edominant (61.4%) followed by Kennedy class 3 (24.8%). Two thousand one hundred and ninety-one p.ostheses were p.rformed. The removable p.rtial p.osthesis with p.ate (acrylic resin) was the most p.rformed (78.8%;n = 1727) and followed by the j.int (17.4%;n = 384). Dental caries (52.6%) and p.riodontitis (36.4%) were the main causes of these edentulous teeth. ng>Conclusion: ng>The p.esent study showed that edentulism is becoming a concern for the imp.ementation of a real oral health p.licy.

Microstructural Evolution of Solid-solution-treated Zn-22Al in the Semisolid State

The effect of solid-solution-treatment on the semisolid microstructure of Zn-22Al with develop.d dendrites was investigated. Forming Zn-22Al p.oducts by semisolid metal p.ocessing offers significant advantages, such as reductions in macro-segregation, p.rosity and forming costs. Thermal and rnicrostructural analyses of the formed Zn-22Al alloy were p.rformed by differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscop. and op.ical microscop.. The changes in the microstructures and p.ase transformation in resp.nse to various solid- solution-treatments were analysed. In this study, as-cast samp.es were held isothermally at 330 ℃ for 0.5- 5 h and then p.rtially remelted at a semisolid temp.rature of 438 ℃ for 1 h to p.oduce a solid-globular grain structure in a liquid matrix. A non-dendritic semisolid microstructure could not be obtained when the traditionally cast Zn 22Al alloy with develop.d dendrites was subj.cted directly to p.rtial remelting. After solid-solution-treatment at 330 ℃, the black interdendritic eutectics were dissolved, and the dendritic structures gradually transformed into uniform β structures when the treatment time was increased. The coarsened and merged dendrites were sep.rated as a result of p.netration by the liquid p.ase and melting of the residual eutectic at sites along the former grain boundaries. The microstructure of the solid-solution- treated samp.e transformed into a small globular structure; the best shap. factor of 0.9, corresp.nding to a p.rticle size of 40 ± 16 μm, is achieved when the samp.e was treated for 3 h followed by direct p.rtial remelting into its semisolid zone.

Highly surface active sup.r p.ramagnetic colloidal susp.nsions of nano crystalline ferrofluid have been synthesized through wet-chemical route. Entrap.ent of magnetic domains p.esented in the nano ferrofluid in a p.lymer matrix like p.ly vinyl alcohol film was accomp.ished by develop.ng p.lymer comp.site film in between two magnetic p.les by solvent casting method. Similarly p.ly vinyl alcohol-ferrofluid comp.site films were also develop.d in the absence of magnetic field. Atomic force microscop. image of nano-comp.site film makes it clear that the film develop.d in the absence of magnetic field p.ssesses randomly oriented domains, whereas film develop.d with magnetic field shows well aligned flux lines. The characteristics and nature of forces acting between magnetic domains along the magnetic flux lines were exp.ored from magnetic force microscop. imaging. The number of flux lines develop.d in the p.lymer matrix was observed to be directly p.op.rtional to ap.lied external magnetic field. Ap.roximate number of magnetic lines p.ssing through unit area of comp.site film was evaluated from line p.ofile data analysis of atomic force microscop. image. The p.rticle sizes of the nanop.rticles encap.ulated in the p.lymer matrix were found to be in the range of 10- 20 nm. Scanning electron microscop. micrograp.s confirm aggregation of ferrofluid p.rticles of ribbon like morp.ology along the magnetic flux lines. Magnetic p.op.rties of the entrap.ed nanop.rticles in p.lymer matrix film were analyzed using vibrating samp.e magnetometer at room temp.rature. The sup.r p.ramagnetic nature and other magnetic p.op.rties were evaluated from the hysteresis loop.

In this work thermal conduction in one-dimensional （1D） chains of anharmonic oscillators are studied using comp.ter simulation. The temp.rature p.ofile, heat flux and thermal conductivity are investigated for chain length n = 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600. In the comp.ter simulation anharmonicity is introduced due to Fermi-p.sta- U1am-β （Fp.-β） model For substrate interaction, an onsite p.tential due to Frenkel-Kontorova （FK） model has been used. numerical simulations demonstrate that temp.rature gradient scales behave as n-1 linearly with the relation j.= 0.1765/n. For the thermal conductivity K, Kn to n obey the linear relation of the typ. Kn = 0.8805n. It is shown that thermal transp.rt is dep.ndent on p.onon-p.onon interaction as web as p.onon-lattice interaction. The thermal conductivity increases linearly with increase inanharmonicity and p.edicts relation κ =0.133 ＋ 0.804β. It is also concluded that for higher value of the strength of the onsite p.tential system tends to a thermal insulator.

Investigation of a beach and its wave condi-tions is highly requisite for understanding the p.ysicalp.ocesses in a coast. This study comp.ses sp.tial andtemp.ral correlation between beach and nearshore p.o-cesses along the extensive sandy beach of nagap.ttinamcoast, southeast p.ninsular India. The data collectionincludes beach p.ofile, wave data, and intertidal sedimentsamp.es for 2 years from j.nuary 2011 to j.nuary *** field data revealed significant variability in beach andwave morp.ology during the northeast （nE） and southwest（SW） monsoon. However, the beach has been stabilized bythe reworking of sediment distribution during the calmp.riod. The changes in grain sorting and longshoresediment transp.rt serve as a clear evidence of thesediment migration that p.rsevered between foreshoreand nearshore regions. The Emp.rical Orthogonal Function（EOF） analysis and Canonical Correlation Analysis （CCA）were utilized to investigate the sp.tial and temp.rallinkages between beach and nearshore criterions. Theoutcome of the multivariate analysis unveiled that theseasonal variations in the wave climate tends to influencethe bar - berm sediment transition that is discerned in thecoast.
