An efficient and practical synthesis of heterocyclic nucleosides is developed by a catalyst-free highly regioselective and diastereose-lective[3+2]annulation of a-purine-substituted acrylates with *** reaction operates with excellent functional group toler-ance,very mild reaction conditions,and with the green,sustainable,and eco-friendly 2-methyltetrahydrofuran(2-MeTHF)as *** with other reactions of electron-deficient olefin dipolarophiles with nitrones,different regioselective cycloaddition products were observed in this *** 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction gives a series of isoxazolidinyl nucleosides in good to excellent yields with promising applications in biochemistry and medicinal chemistry.

Chemotherapy in prostate cancer （PCa） has undergone dramatic landscape changes. While earlier studies utilized varying chemotherapy regimens which were found to be largely palliative in nature and hardly resulted in durable or meaningful responses, docetaxel resulted in the first chemotherapy agent that showed improvement in overall survival in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer （mCRPC）. However, combination chemotherapy or any agents added to docetaxel have failed to yield incremental benefits. The improvement in overall survival as well as secondary endpoints of prostate-specific antigen （PSA） and time to recurrence when using docetaxel in the metastatic hormone-sensitive state has changed the standard of care for treatment of newly diagnosed de novo metastatic PCa. There are also promising results in locally advanced PCa and high-risk PCa in both the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings. This review summarizes the historical as well as the more contemporary use of chemotherapeutic agents in PCa in varying states and phases of disease.

A highly efficient kinetic resolution of racemic 2-substituted 1,2-dihydroquinolines via Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydroarylation has been described for the first time.A variety of arylboronic acids coupled with 2-substituted 1,2-dihydroquinolines under mild reaction *** transformations into the enantio-enriched 2,3-diaryl-tetrahydroquinolines as well as the recovered chiral 2-aryl-dihydroquinolines were obtained with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities(86%-99% ee,s factor up to 1057).

Nowadays,the preservation of natural resources,the reuse,and the recycling of waste and by-products in the cement industry are gaining increasing attention in a sustainable development *** this perspective,many studies focus on finding solutions in order to propose environmentally friendly *** the sediments represent a way to preserve the natural resources by their reuse as a secondary raw material in multiple applications(concrete,roads,landscaped mound,etc).However,they commonly contain contaminants,organic matter(5%-30%),high water content(50%-200%),and relatively small particle size(Dmax ≤300 μm).Therefore to improve the mechanical properties of this material as well as its physiochemical ones,specific methods of characterization and appropriate treatment techniques(calcination,chemical treatment,etc.) are *** article presents a bibliographical review of the efficient use of sediments in cementitious *** details experimental tests that must be performed to ensure the durability of sediment-based structure and assess their environmental impact under prescribed conditions.

Metastatic pancreatic cancer(MPC) is one of the most aggressive malignancies, known to be chemo-resistant and have been recently considered resistant to some targeted therapies(TT). Erlotinib combined to gemcitabine is the only targeted therapy that showed an overall survival benefit in MPC. New targets and therapeutic approaches, based on new-TT, are actually being evaluated in MPC going from immunotherapy, epigenetics, tumor suppressor gene and oncogenes to stromal matrix regulators. We aim in this paper to present the major causes rendering MPC an untargetable malignancy and to focus on the new therapeutic modalities based on TT in MPC.

Among geriatric patients suffering from severe but inoperable aortic valve stenosis because of high surgical risk and severe co-morbidities,[1] some benefit from trans-aortic valve implantation (TAVI) while others are deemed too frail for TAVI and received medical treatment (MT). This study conducted in frail geriatric patients aimed at describing the patienfs characteristics and the mortality rate associated with the treatment option (MT vs. TAVI) as well as the patient's characteristics associated with one-year mortality.

We propose a new analytical approach combining vibrational spectroscopy and acoustic tomography for the detection and characterization of vesicles inside Streptomyces bacteria. Using atomic force microscopy and infrared spectroscopy （AFM-IR）, we detect the presence of triglyceride vesicles. Their sizes in depth are measured with high accuracy using mode synthesizing atomic force microscopy （MS-AFM）. We conducted a comparative study of AFM-IR and MS-AFM, and highlighted the advantages of the coupling of these techniques in having a full characterization （chemical, topographical, and volumetric） of a biological sample. With these complementary techniques, a complete access to the vesicle size distribution has been achieved with an accuracy of less than 50 nm. A 3D reconstruction of bacteria showing the in-depth distribution of vesicles is given to underline the great potential of the acoustic method.

Anal cancers(AC)are relatively rare *** incidence is increasing,particularly among men who have sex with other men due to widespread infection by human papilloma *** majority of anal cancers are squamous cell carcinomas,and they are treated according to *** local and locally advanced AC,concomitant chemoradiation therapy based on mitomycin C and 5-Fluorouracil(5-FU)is the current best treatment,while metastatic AC,chemotherapy with 5-FU and cisplatin remains the gold *** are no indications for induction or maintenance therapies in locally advanced *** novel strategies,such as targeted therapies,vaccination,immunotherapy and photodynamic therapy are in clinical trials for the treatment of AC,with promising results in some indications.

Beside its poor prognosis and its late diagnosis, pancreatic cancer remains one of the most painful malignancies. Optimal management of pain in this cancer represents a real challenge for the oncologist whose objective is to ensure a better quality of life to his patients. We aimed in this paper to review all the treatment modalities incriminated in the management of pain in pancreatic cancer going from painkillers, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and interventional techniques to agents under investigation and alternative medicine. Although specific guidelines and recommendations for pain management in pancreatic cancer are still absent, we present all the possible pain treatments, with a progression from medical multimodal treatment to radiotherapy and chemotherapy then interventional techniques in case of resistance. In addition, alternative methods such as acupuncture and hypnosis can be added at any stage and seems to contribute to pain relief.
