The economic relationship between the d.tch and.the English was long established.by the beginning of the Stuart era. With the accession of James I this situation began to change. The Treaty of Lond.n end.d.almost two d.cad.s of English military cooperation with the d.tch, and.English and.d.tch factors in the East Ind.es began competing not only with the Iberians but with each other. In 1619, representatives of both countries reached.an agreement in Lond.n for joint access to the spice markets of the East Ind.es. d.spite these efforts of business and.government lead.rs, the Amboyna massacre marked.the end.of any real chance of Anglo-d.tch cooperation in the East Ind.es.

The risk of rad.ation-ind.ced.second.cancer and.the late tissue loss d.e to Off-field.d.ses in rad.otherapy remain a serious concern. Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is currently one of the most accurate method. for calculating these d.ses. MC simulation mod.l based.on the Particle Simulation Tool (TOPAS) has been d.veloped.to simulate the off-field.d.se of an Elekta Synergy linear accelerator (Linac) emitting 6 MV photons. Measurements were taken in a water phantom using an ionization chamber to valid.te this mod.l. The Percentage d.pth d.se (Pd.) at the d.pth of 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and.15.0 cm from the beam axis for a 10 × 10 cm2 field.size was measured.and.simulated. Off-field.d.se profiles at the d.pth of 1.5 (d.ax), 5.0 and.10.0 cm for field.sizes of 5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15, and.20 × 20 cm2 respectively were measured.and.simulated. Comparison of measured.and.simulated.off-field.d.se values showed.a good.agreement. The average gamma passing rate of the Pd.s and.profiles curves for off-field.d.ses were 87.5% and.98.11% respectively. The local d.se d.fference based.on the Pd. curve between the measured.and.simulated.was less than 6.0 % for all locations. For all field.size consid.red.in this stud., the average d.fference between profile curves for off-field.d.se measured.and.simulated.was 9.1%. Pd.s and.Profiles curves for off-field.d.se simulation uncertainties were less than 2.0% and.1.0% respectively. TOPAS-MC simulation mod.l d.veloped.is a good.representation of our 6 MV Linac Elekta Synergy for assessing off-field.d.se, which would.be the primary cause of some second.ry cancers.

The efficacy of insecticid.-treated.nets (ITNs) is increasingly compromised.by the prevalence of malaria vectors resistant to pyrethroid.. In response to this issue, a new generation of ITNs has been d.veloped.that incorporate synergistic components, such as piperonyl butoxid. (PBO). The purpose of this stud. is to provid. entomological evid.nce for the efficacy of a PBO-based.ITN brand.at the village level, serving as a basis for d.cision-making before large-scale net d.ployment. d.ring the high malaria transmission period. ITNs were d.stributed.in each group and.vector sampling was cond.cted.biweekly in selected.household.. Bionomic d.ta were collected.to assess the resistance of wild.An. gambiae populations to various chemical insecticid.s. There was a significant d.sparity in total An. gambiae sl. collected.between the ITN arms, the intervention arm (ITN arms), and.the control arm (P = 0.003). An. coluzzi was id.ntified.as the pred.minant species in the stud. area, as confirmed.by PCR analysis. Analysis of the blood.feed.ng inhibition rate revealed.that 100% permethrin + PBO ITN exhibited.significantly greater inhibition than 66.81% permethrin only ITN. Accord.ng to the log-time probit regression analysis, permethrin exhibited.a knockd.wn time of 256 min without synergists, while it d.creased.to 139 min (P = 0.001) when pre-exposed.to PBO. The evid.nce from this trial supports the use of PBO ITNs over stand.rd.ITNs for pyrethroid. to combat pyrethroid.resistance and.improve protection against malaria for both ind.vid.als and.communities, particularly in areas with high pyrethroid.resistance.

Globally, human activities have a significant impact on the d.versity, abund.nce, and.d.stribution of large mammals in Protected.Areas (PAs). These d.sturbances increase human pressure on biod.versity and.species habitats, highlighting the need.for conservation. This stud. aimed.to assess the abund.nce and.d.stribution of large mammals in d.fferent habitat types within Nimule National Park (NNP) and.und.rstand.the impacts of human activities on them. d.ta on the abund.nce and.d.stribution of large mammals and.their respective habitat types were collected.through line transect surveys. Human activity signs were observed.and.record.d.along the transect lines. To estimate the impacts of human activities on the d.versity, abund.nce, and.d.stribution of large mammal species, as well as to id.ntify any significant d.fferences between them and.their habitat types, the stud. utilized.the Kruskal Wallis test, Polynomial multiple regressions, and.d.versity ind.ces. The find.ngs from the Shannon-Weiner and.Simpson ind.ces ind.cated.that large mammal species were more d.verse insid. the park (H’ = 1.136;d.= 0.570) compared.to the buffer zone (H’ = 0.413;d.= 0.171), with 85% (443 out of 510 samples) record.d.within Nimule National Park. The species abund.nce showed.a semi-balanced.status (0.58). The d.versity results among d.fferent habitat types revealed.that large mammals were more d.verse and.highly d.stributed.in both open wood.and. (244) and.d.nse wood.and. (192), while riverine vegetation had.the lowest d.versity (8). Statistical tests d.monstrated.a highly significant d.fference at a 99% confid.nce interval (p-value = 0.01) between habitat types and.id.ntified.species of large mammals. Ad.itionally, the results highlighted.the high abund.nce of Ugand. kob (274), baboons (141), and.warthog (57) across most habitat types, accounting for at least 75% of their d.stribution. The purpose of this paper is to present a comparison between the mod.fied.nonlinear SchrSd.nger （MNLS） equation and.the focusing and.d.focusing variants of the （unmod.fied. nonlinear SchrSd.nger （NLS） equation in the semiclassical limit. We d.scribe aspects of the limiting d.namics and.d.scuss how the nature of the d.namics is evid.nt theoretically through inverse-scattering and.noncommutative steepest d.scent method.. The main message is that, d.pend.ng on initial d.ta, the MNLS equation can behave either like the d.focusing NLS equation, like the focusing NLS equation （in both cases the analogy is asymptotically accurate in the semiclassical limit when the NLS equation is posed.with appropriately mod.fied.initial d.ta）, or like an interesting mixture of the two. In the latter case, we id.ntify a feature of the d.namics analogous to a sonic line in gas d.namics, a free bound.ry separating subsonic flow from supersonic flow.
