Materials combining strong ferromagnetism and good semiconducting properties are highly desirable for spintronic applications(e.g.,in spin-filtering devices).In this work,we conduct a search for concentrated ferromagnetic semiconductors through highthroughput computational *** screening reveals the limited availability of semiconductors combining ferromagnetism and a low effective *** identify the manganese pyrochlore oxide In_(2)Mn_(2)O_(7) as especially promising for spin transport as it combines low electron effective mass(0.29m0),a large exchange splitting of the conduction band(1.1 eV),stability in air,and a Curie temperature(about 130 K)among the highest of concentrated ferromagnetic *** rationalise the high performance of In_(2)Mn_(2)O_(7) by the unique combination of a pyrochlore lattice favouring ferromagnetism with an adequate alignment of O–2p,Mn–3d,and In–5s forming a dispersive conduction band while enhancing the Curie temperature.

Primary liver cancer is a global disease that is on the *** carcinoma(HCC)accounts for most primary liver cancers and has a notably low survival rate,largely attributable to late diagnosis,resistance to treatment,tumour recurrence and ***(miRNAs/miRs)are regulatory RNAs that modulate protein *** are involved in several biological and pathological processes including the development and progression of *** the poor outcomes with current HCC treatments,miRNAs represent an important new target for therapeutic *** studies have demonstrated their role in HCC development and *** many risk factors underlie the development of HCC,one process commonly altered is iron *** overload occurs in several liver diseases associated with the development of HCC including Hepatitis C infection and the importance of miRNAs in iron homeostasis and hepatic iron overload is well *** miRNA expression in hepatic fibrosis and injury response have been reported,as have dysregulated miRNA expression patterns affecting cell cycle progression,evasion of apoptosis,invasion and ***2009,miR-26a delivery was shown to prevent HCC progression,highlighting its therapeutic *** studies have since investigated the clinical potential of other miRNAs with one drug,Miravirsen,currently in phaseⅡclinical *** also have potential as biomarkers for the diagnosis of HCC and to evaluate treatment *** studies and clinical trials suggest miRNA-based treatments and diagnostic methods will have novel clinical applications for HCC in the coming years,yielding improved HCC survival rates and patient outcomes.

We investigate the rotational dynamics of a low-density sphere on the free surface of a vertically vibrated granular material（VGM）. The dynamical behavior of the sphere is influenced by the external energy input from an electromagnetic shaker which is proportional to ε,where ε is equal to the ratio between the square of the dimensionless acceleration Γ and the square of the vibration frequency f of the container. Empirical results reveal that as the VGM transits from local-to-global convection,an increase in ε generally corresponds to an increase in the magnitudes of the rotational ω（RS） and translational v（CM） velocities of the sphere, an increase in the observed tilting angle θ（bed） of the VGM bed, and a decrease in the time t（wall） it takes the sphere to roll down the tilted VGM bed and hit the container wall. During unstable convection, an increase in ε results in a sharp decrease in the sphere＇s peak and mean ω（RS）,and a slight increase in t（wall）.For the range of ε values covered in this study, the sphere may execute persistent rotation, wobbling or jamming, depending on the vibration parameters and the resulting convective flow in the system.

Calculations of point defect energetics with Density Functional Theory(DFT)can provide valuable insight into several optoelectronic,thermodynamic,and kinetic *** calculations commonly use methods ranging from semi-local functionals with a-posteriori corrections to more computationally intensive hybrid functional *** applications of DFT-based high-throughput computation for data-driven materials discovery,point defect properties are of interest,yet are currently excluded from available materials *** work presents a benchmark analysis of automated,semi-local point defect calculations with a-posteriori corrections,compared to 245“gold standard”hybrid calculations previously *** consider three different a-posteriori correction sets implemented in an automated workflow,and evaluate the qualitative and quantitative differences among four different categories of defect information:thermodynamic transition levels,formation energies,Fermi levels,and dopability *** highlight qualitative information that can be extracted from high-throughput calculations based on semi-local DFT methods,while also demonstrating the limits of quantitative accuracy.

The capability of embedded piezoelectric wafer active sensors(PWAS)to perform in-situ nondestructive evaluation(NDE)for structural health monitoring(SHM)of reinforced concrete(RC)structures strengthened with fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)composite overlays is ***,the disbond detection method were developed on coupon specimens consisting of concrete blocks covered with an FRP composite *** was found that the presence of a disbond crack drastically changes the electromecfianical(E/M)impedance spectrum lneasurcd at the PWAS *** spectral changes depend on the distance between the PWAS and the crack ***,large scale experiments were conducted on a RC beam strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)composite *** beam was subject to an accelerated fatigue load regime in a three-point bending configuration up to a total of 807,415 *** these fatigue tests,the CFRP overlay experienced disbonding beginning at about 500,000 *** PWAS were able to detect the disbonding before it could be reliably seen by visual *** correlation between the PWAS readings and the position and extent of disbond damage was *** preliminary results demonstrate the potential of PWAS technology for SHM of RC structures strengthened with FRP composite overlays.

Objective:To explore antibacterial activity and characterization of secondary metabolites isolated from mangrove plant Avicennia officinalis(***).Methods:In the present study the leaf extracts of *** were examined for its antibacterial potential using five different solvents against some reference strains of human pathogenic bacteria for the crude *** activity was observed for ethyl acetate and hence different concentrations like 15μL,25μL,and 50μL of ethyl extracts was checked for its antibacterial *** purification of crude extract was carried by column chromatography and fractions were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) to identify ***:The crude ethyl acetate extracts of *** showed remarkable antibacterial activity with zones of inhibition of 13 mm against Eschericia coli(***) and 11 mm against Staphylococcus aureus (***).Fraction 13(ethyl acetate:methanol= 8:2) as the most potent one against with the minimal inhibitory concentration of 30 mm against *** and 25 mm against *** GCMS resultsof active column fraction(F13) revealed that the active principals were a mixture of hydroxy- 4 methoxybenzoic acid,diethyl phthalate,oleic ***:The leaf extracts with proven antibacterial effects can clearly be directed towards cancer treatment as to inhibiting cancer cell *** limited number of test organisms owes to a constraint of ***,the effect of strong bursts of leaf extracts on human pathogenic bacteria should further be tested on a wide range of test organisms.
