Frozen storage of emulsion-type sausages may be one approach to avoid or reduce the use of sodium nitrite,which is associated with health *** carp(Hypophthalmichthys molitrix)mince(M_(0))was washed for 1(M_(1))or 3(M_(3))times and the impact of washing on the properties frozen storage(−18℃)during 4 months were determined and results were compared to those of conventional silver carp sausages(Mt).Lipid oxidation,as evidenced by changes in thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and FFAs,took place during storage in the order of M_(0)>M_(1)=M_(3)=Mt with M_(0)being highly oxidized(P≤0.05).total volatile base nitrogen formed during storage and the ranking for the quality loss was as follows M_(0)>M_(1)>M_(3)=***(M_(1)=M_(3))led to less hardness(P≤0.05).Mt had better redness,while M_(1)and M_(3)led to higher expressible moisture,water release and lightness(P≤0.05).results indicated the lower sensory and consumer-liking properties of frozen M_(1)and M_(3)***,washing and frozen storage influenced silver carp mince sausages.

Incidence rate of prostate cancer in men treated for erectile dysfunction with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors： retrospective analysis

the purpose of this study was to determine the incidence rate of prostate cancer among men with erectile dysfunction （ED） treated with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors （PDE-5i） over a 7-year period vs. men with ED of the same age and with similar risk factors who were not treated with PDE-5i. In a retrospective review of electronic medical records and billing databases between the years 2000 and 2006, men with ED between the ages of 50 and 69 years and no history of prostate cancer prior to 2000 were identified. these individuals were divided into two groups： 2362 men who had treatment with PDE-5i, and 2612 men who did not have treatment. Demographic data in each group were compared. During the study period, 97 （4.1%） men with ED treated with PDE-5i were diagnosed with prostate cancer compared with 258 （9.9%） men with ED in the non-treated group （P〈00001）. A higher percentage of African Americans were treated with PDE-5i vs. those who were not （10.5% vs. 7.1%; P〈O.O001）. the PDE-5i group had lower documented diagnosis of elevated prostate-specific antigen （10.0% vs. 13.1%; P=-0.0008） and higher percentage of benign prostatic hyperplasia （38.4% vs. 35.1%; P=0.0149）. Men with ED treated with PDE-5i tended to have less chance （adjusted odds ratio： 0.4; 95% confidence intervals： 0.3-0.5; P〈0.0001） of having prostate cancer. Our data suggest that men with ED treated with PDE-5i tended to have less of a chance of beine diaenosed with orostate cancer. Further research is warranted.

thyroid hormones def ine basal metabolism throughout the body, particularly in the intestine and viscera. Gastrointestinal manifestations of dysthyroidism are numerous and involve all portions of the tract. thyroid hormone action on motility has been widely studied, but more complex pathophysiologic mechanisms have been indicated by some studies although these are not fully understood. Both thyroid hormone excess and def iciency can have similar digestive manifestations, such as diarrhea, although the mechanism is different in each situation. the liver is the most affected organ in both hypo-and hyperthyroidism. Specifi c digestive diseases may be associated with autoimmune thyroid processes, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Grave's disease. Among them, celiac sprue and primary biliary cirrhosis are the most frequent although a clear common mechanism has never been proven. Overall, thyroid-related digestive manifestations were described decades ago but studies are still needed in order to conf irm old concepts or elucidate undiscovered mechanisms. All practitioners must be aware of digestive symptoms due to dysthyroidism in order to avoid misdiagnosis of rare but potentially lethal situations.

A 56-year-old man presented to the emergency department after an intentional overdose of oxycodone and *** was previously opioid-naive with no other medical *** subsequently developed acute abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting.A computed tomography scan of his abdomen and pelvis revealed distension of his stomach with no other abnormalities suggestive *** was subsequently treated with intravenous naloxone with complete resolution of his symptoms soon *** case highlights the association between opioids and acute gastrointestinal mobility disorders contrary to the traditional association with chronic opioid use,as well as the utility of naloxone as a treatment.

the power grid with large proportion of hydropower may engage the ultra-low frequency oscillation (ULFO),which threatening the operation of *** the NY Power Grid system,whose dimension is over thousands,this paper reveals the cause of ULFO with the phase portrait method,i.e.,lies in the saturation of the different limits of the governor system of the generators,in other words,the occurrence of limit cycle is due to the non-smooth *** furthermore,it proposes two methods to suppress ULFO with the philosophy of destroying the condition of non-smooth *** detail,first,the phenomenon of ULFO in NY Power Grid,the damping characteristics and the limits in the governor system of the hydropower units are ***,based on the non-smooth bifurcation theory,the mathematical basis of the oscillation in the non-smooth system caused by the saturation of limits is *** then,the non-oscillation and oscillation dynamic of the system corresponding to without/with limits in the governor system are ***,it discusses the influence of the saturation of single limit on the characteristics of ULFO with the phase ***,the phase portraits of the ULFO under different faults is analyzed,and it shows that the limiting saturation occurs with a large enough ***,the ULFO is resulting from the negative damping of generation and the saturation of multiple limits under a large enough *** addition,according to the above mechanism,two strategies to suppress the ULFO,i.e.,the governor parameters tuning and the fault strength relief are *** simulation shows the effectiveness of proposed strategies.

Background Gesture drawing is a type of fluid,fast sketch with loose and roughly drawn lines that captures the motion and feeling of a *** style transfer methods,which are able to learn a style from an input image and apply it to a secondary image,can reproduce many styles,they are currently unable to produce the flowing strokes of gesture *** In this paper,we present a method for producing gesture drawings that roughly depict objects or scenes with loose dancing contours and frantic *** following a gradient field,our method adapts stroke-based painterly rendering algorithms to produce long curved strokes.A rough,overdrawn appearance is created through a progressive *** addition,we produce rough hatch strokes by altering the stroke *** add optional shading to gesture *** A wealth of parameters provide users the ability to adjust the output style,from short and rapid strokes to long and fluid strokes,and from swirling to straight *** stylistic outputs include pen-and-ink and colored *** present several generated gesture drawings and discuss the application of our method to *** Our stroke-based rendering algorithm produces convincing gesture drawings with numerous controllable parameters,permitting the creation of a variety of styles.

rett syndrome is an Autism Spectrum Disorder caused by mutations in the gene encoding methyl-CpG binding protein （MeCP2）. Following a period of normal development, patients lose learned communication and motor skills, and develop a number of symptoms including motor disturbances, cognitive impairments and often seizures. In this review, we discuss the role of MeCP2 in regulating synaptic function and how synaptic dysfunctions lead to neuronal network impairments and alterations in sensory information processing. We propose that rett syndrome is a disorder of neural circuits as a result of non-linear accumulated dysfunction of synapses at the level of individual cell populations across multiple neurotransmitter systems and brain regions.

High gravimetric energy density, earth-abundance, and environmental friendliness of hydrogen sources have inspired the utilization of hydrogen fuel as a clean alternative to fossil fuels. Hydrogen evolution reaction （HEr）, a half reaction of water splitting, is crucial to the low-cost production of pure H2 fuels but necessitates the use of electrocatalysts to expedite reaction kinetics. Owing to the availability of low-cost oxygen evolution reaction （OEr） catalysts for the counter electrode in alkaline media and the lack of low-cost OEr catalysts in acidic media, researchers have focused on developing HEr catalysts in alkaline media with high activity and stability. Nickel is well-known as an HEr catalyst and continuous efforts have been undertaken to improve Ni-based catalysts as alkaline electrolyzers： In this review, we summarize earlier studies of HEr activity and mechanism on Ni surfaces, along with recent progress in the optimization of the Ni-based catalysts using various modern techniques. recently developed Ni-based HEr catalysts are categorized according to their chemical nature, and the advantages as well as limitations of each category are discussed. Among all Ni-based catalysts, Ni-based alloys and Ni-based hetero-structure exhibit the most promising electrocatalytic activity and stability owing to the fine-tuning of their surface adsorption properties via a synergistic nearby element or domain. Finally, selected applications of the developed Ni-based HEr catalysts are highlighted, such as water splitting, the chloralkali process, and microbial electrolysis cell.
