The monitoring of urban slopes employing in-situ equipment seeks to avoid the loss of human lives midst emergency events like landslides. cemaden (Brazilian National centre for Monitoring and Early Warnings of Natural Disasters) has a pilot network of soil moisture and rain gauge stations located in urban slopes to understand, prevent, and mitigate landslides. Due to the large volume of data produced by this system there was a need for tools for data retrieval and visualization. This paper describes the Solam (Environmental Data Observation System) software which generates automated graphs that enable researchers to analyze and comprise data from soil moisture sensors and rain gauge stations. Those results allow to research moisture variations in six different sensor levels (from 0.5 m to 3 m deep) and precipitation indexes (hourly and accumulated rainfall) for the established period. This analysis will provide information to set critical environmental thresholds on base recorded landslides.

The authors study, by applying and extending the methods developed by cazenave(2003), Dias and Figueira(2014), Dias et al.(2014), Glassey(1994–1997), Kato(1987), Ohta and Todorova(2009) and Tsutsumi(1984), the cauchy problem for a damped coupled system of nonlinear Schrdinger equations and they obtain new results on the local and global existence of H^1-strong solutions and on their possible blowup in the supercritical case and in a special situation, in the critical or supercritical cases.

The thermoluminescence(TL)emission of synthetic and natural ce-monazites was characterized here to determine the potential application in the identification of microscopic defects from a qualitative point of view trying to link each TL peak to a chemical-physical *** kinetic parameters that lead the luminescence processes were calculated by means of variable heating rate and computing glow curve deconvolution methods and allow identifying three groups of components at~90,130 and 290℃(for the mineral sample)and~90,170,220,270 and 320℃(for the synthetic cePO_(4):Nd_(0.20),La_(0.25)).The main differences appreciated in these complex TL curves are mainly due to(i)the content of impurities(natural sample contains lanthanides as well as U 0.60%and Th 5.22%)and(ii)the degree of crystallinity of the samples which is directly related to the type of impurities(synthetic monazite relies only on Nd and La).The behavior of the dose response in the range of 1-8 Gy is similar for both samples;the TL intensity increases linearly as the dose increases without changes in the position of the maxima,denoting first-order kinetic luminescence *** peak could be mostly associated with structural defects(i.e.,phase transitions),chemical reactions(i.e.,ce3+?ce4+redox reaction,dehydration or dehydroxylation processes)or intrinsic defects(i.e.,Frenkel defects,ODcs or NBOHcs).

Electrochemical tests and surface analysis were applied to study the corrosion behavior and passive film characteristics of three-dimensional-printed NiTi shape memory alloys fabricated by laser-powder bed fusion(LPBF) in artificial saliva at 37.c. The passivity of L-PBF NiTi shows to be influenced by the process parameters and resulting morphological and physicochemical surface properties. The results show that the defects at the surface of L-PBF Ni Ti can promote the passivation rate in the early stages of exposure but a slowly formed passive film shows the best corrosion protection. The thickness of the passive film is positively correlated with its corrosion protective performance. The L-PBF NiTi alloy prepared at a linear energy density of 0.2 J·m^(-1) and volumetric energy density of 56 J·mm^(-3) shows the least defects and best corrosion protection. An outer Ti-rich and inner Ni-rich dense passive film could be also obtained showing higher corrosion resistance.

AIM:To evaluate inter-device agreement of anterior keratometry obtained by the IOLMaster 500 and Pentacam HR in type 2 diabetic and non-diabetic ***:corneal measurements were sequentially performed in 60 diabetes mellitus(DM)and 48 age and sex-matched controls undergoing cataract *** recorded included flat and steep keratometry,mean keratometry(Km),astigmatism magnitude,axis location,JO and J45 ***-Altman plots and intraclass correlation coefficients were used for examination of *** analyses were performed for astigmatism magnitude,diabetes duration,hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)levels and diabetic retinopathy(DR)***:Agreement for Km and astigmatism magnitude were considered good and moderate,with 95%limits of agreement(LoA)of-1.09 to 1.23 diopters(D)and-0.83 to 0.86 D in DM group,respectively;and-0.59 to 0.72 D and-0.98 to 0.75 D in non-DM group,*** contrast,the 95%LoA for corneal axis exceeded the clinically relevant margins in both *** the total sample,only 41 eyes(38%)had a smaller than 5-degree *** duration,HbA1c levels and DR stage were not found to significantly affect *** regression showed that higher corneal power(P=0.021)and astigmatism magnitude(P=0.011)were associated with a decreased risk of having a difference in axis location greater than ***:In both groups,IOLMaster and Pentacam agree well for corneal power and moderately for ***,axis location disagreement is frequent in eyes with flatter corneas and small amounts of astigmatism.

The Egyptia n mon goose (Herpestes ichneumon Linn aeus, 1758) is a medium-sized car nivore that experienced remarkable geographic expansion over the last 3 decades in the Iberian Peninsula. In this study, we investigated the association of species-related and abiotic factors with spleen weight (as a proxy for immunocompete nee) in the species. We assessed the relationship of body con dition, sex, age, seas on, and envir onmental conditi ons with splee n weight established for 508 hunted specimens. Our results indicate that the effects of sex and season outweigh those of all other variables, including body condition. Spleen weight is higher in males than in females, and heavier spleens are more likely to be found in spring, coinciding with the highest period of investment in reproduction due to mating, gestation, birth, and lactation. coupled with the absence of an effect of body condition, our findi ngs suggest that splee n weight variation in this species is mostly influe need by lifehistory traits linked to reproduction, rather than overall energy availability, winter immunoenhancement, or energy partitioning effects, and prompt further research focusing on this topic.

The therapeutic promise of small interfering RNAs （siRNAs） for specific gene silencing is dependent on the successful delivery of functional siRNAs to the cytoplasm. Their conjugation to an established delivery platform, such as gold nanoparticles, offers tremendous potential for treating diseases and advancing our understanding of cellular processes. Their success or failure is dependent on both the uptake of the nanoparticles into the cells and subsequent intracellular release of the functional siRNA. In this study, utilizing gold nanoparticle siRNA-mediated delivery against c-MYc, we aimed to determine if we could achieve knockdown in a cancer cell line with low levels of intracellular glutathione, and determine the influence, if any, of polyethylene glycol （PEG） ligand density on knockdown, with a view to determining the optimal nanoparticle design to achieve c-MYc knockdown. We demonstrate that, regardless of the PEG density, knockdown in cells with relatively low glutathione levels can be achieved, as well as the possible effect of steric hindrance of PEG on the availability of the siRNA for cleavage in the intracellular environment. Gold nanoparticle uptake was demonstrated via transmission electron microscopy and mass spectroscopy, while knockdown was determined at the protein and physiological levels （cells in S-phase） by in-cell westerns and BrdU incorporation, respectively.

This paper provides generators a thorough review focused on major recent breakLinear generators Multidimensional generators throughs in the area of electromagnetic-triboelectric vibrational energy harvesting. A detailed Pendulum generators analysis was conducted on various architectures including rotational,pendulum,linear,sliding,cantilever,flexible blade,multidimensional and 1 cm magnetoelectric,and the following hybrid technologies. They enable highly e cient ways to harvest electric energy from many forms of vibrational,rotational,biomechanical,wave,wind and thermal sources,among others. Open-circuit voltages up to 75 v,short-circuit currents up to 60 mA and instantaneous power up to 144 mW were already achieved by these nanogenerators. Their transduction mechanisms,including proposed models to make intelligible the involved physical phenomena,are also overviewed here.
