Fourty-three species of microfungi from bamboo are treated,including one new family,Occultibambusaceae,three new genera,Neoanthostomella,Occultibambusa and Seriascoma,27 new species,one renamed species and 15 redescribed or re-illustrated species,and four designated reference specimens are treated in this paper,the majority of which are saprobic on dead *** determine species identification,separate phylogenetical analyses for each group are carried out,based on molecular data from this study and sequences downloaded from *** similar species and phylogenetically close taxa are compared and *** addition a list of bambusicolous fungi published since Hyde and colleagues in 2002 is provided.

To date there is virtually no information available concerning the fungi associated with Tectona grandis(teak)(Lamiaceae)in *** this study,samples of microfungi were collected from both asymptomatic stems and dead wood,and symptomatic branches,stem and leaves of *** 27 sites in six provinces(Chiang Mai,Chiang Rai,Phayao,Phitsanulok,Phrae and Uttaradit Provinces).Morphology and combined multi-gene phylogeny(CAL,GAPDH,ITS,LSU,RPB2,SSU,TeF1 and TUB)were used to identify taxa.A total of 270 collections,representing 28 fungal species residing in 12 families,7 orders and 21 genera,with three species of uncertain taxonomic placement were *** these,one family,three genera and 14 species are new to *** new family,Pseudocoleodictyosporaceae is introduced based on its distinct lineage in the Dothideomycetes and its unique morphology as compared to Roussoellaceae and *** new genera are Neooccultibambusa,Pseudocoleodictyospora and *** newly described species are Diaporthe neoraonikayaporum,***,***,***,Hermatomyces tectonae,***,Manoharachariella tectonae,Neooccultibambusa chiangraiensis,Pseudocoleodictyospora sukhothaiensis,***,***,Rhytidhysteron tectonae,Subglobosporium tectonae and Tubeufia *** species are known published taxa including Alternaria tillandsiae,Berkleasmium talaumae,Boerlagiomyces macrospora,Ceratocladium purpureogriseum,Fusarium solani,Helicoma siamense,Lasiodiplodia theobromae,Macrovalsaria megalospora,Paradictyoarthrinium diffractum,Phaeoacremonium italicum,Sphaeropsis eucalypticola,Stachybotrys levispora,*** and Thaxteriellopsis *** or reference specimens are designated for Boerlagiomyces macrospora and Macrovalsaria *** megalospora is transferred from Botryosphaeriaceae to Dothideomycetes genus,incertae sedis based on taxonomy and phylogenetic analysis,which indicate i

SARS-CoV-2 spike protein-ACe2 interaction increases carbohydrate sulfotransferases and reduces N-acetylgalactosamine-4-sulfatase by p38 MAPK

Immunostaining in lungs of patients who died with CovID-19 infection showed increased intensity and distribution of chondroitin sulfate and decline in N-acetylgalactostamine-4-sulfatase(Arylsulfatase B;ARSB).To explain these findings,human small airway epithelial cells were exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain(SPRBD)and transcriptional mechanisms were ***-p38 MAPK and phospho-SMAD3 increased following exposure to the SPRBD,and their inhibition suppressed the promoter activation of the carbohydrate sulfotransferases CHST15 and CHST11,which contributed to chondroitin sulfate *** in ARSB was mediated by phospho-38 MAPK-induced N-terminal Rb phosphorylation and an associated increase in Rb-e2F1 binding and decline in e2F1 binding to the ARSB *** increases in chondroitin sulfotransferases were inhibited when treated with phospho-p38-MAPK inhibitors,SMAD3(SIS3)inhibitors,as well as antihistamine desloratadine and antibiotic *** the mouse model of carrageenan-induced systemic inflammation,increases in phosphop38 MAPK and expression of CHST15 and CHST11 and declines in DNA-e2F binding and ARSB expression occurred in the lung,similar to theobserved effects in this SPRBD model of COVID-19 *** accumulation of chondroitin sulfates is associated with fibrotic lung conditions and diffuse alveolar damage,increased attention to p38-MAPK inhibition may be beneficial in amelioratingCovid-19infections.

BACKGROUND Smartwatches have become readily accessible tools for detecting atrial fibrillation(AF).There remains limited data on how they affect psychosocial outcomes and engagement in older *** examine the health behavior outcomes of stroke survivors prescribed smartwatches for AF detection stratified by *** We analyzed data from the Pulsewatch study,a randomized controlled trial that enrolled patients(≥50 years)with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack and CHA2DS2-VASc≥*** participants were equipped with a cardiac patch monitor and a smartwatch-app dyad,while control participants wore the cardiac patch monitor for up to 44 *** evaluated health behavior parameters using standardized tools,including the Consumer Health Activation Index,the Generalized Anxiety Disorder questionnaire,the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey,and wear time of participants categorized into three age groups:Group 1(ages 50-60),Group 2(ages 61-69),and Group 3(ages 70-87).We performed statistical analysis using a mixedeffects repeated measures linear regression model to examine differences amongst age *** Comparative analysis between Groups 1,2 and 3 revealed no significant differences in anxiety,patient activation,perception of physical health and wear *** use of smartwatch technology was associated with a decrease in perception of mental health for Group 2 compared to Group 1(β=-3.29,P=0.046).CONCLUSION Stroke survivors demonstrated a willingness to use smartwatches for AF ***,among these study participants,the majority did not experience negative health behavior outcomes or decreased engagement as age increased.

Dothideomycetes comprise a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by asci with two wall layers(bitunicate asci)and often with fissitunicate *** species are saprobes,with many asexual states comprising important plant *** are also endophytes,epiphytes,fungicolous,lichenized,or lichenicolous *** occur in terrestrial,freshwater and marine habitats in almost every part of the *** accept 105 families in Dothideomycetes with the new families Anteagloniaceae,Bambusicolaceae,Biatriosporaceae,Lichenoconiaceae,Muyocopronaceae,Paranectriellaceae,Roussoellaceae,Salsugineaceae,Seynesiopeltidaceae and Thyridariaceae introduced in this *** family is provided with a description and notes,including asexual and asexual states,and if more than one genus is included,the type genus is also *** family is provided with at least one figure-plate,usually illustrating the type genus,a list of accepted genera,including asexual genera,and a key to these genera.A phylogenetic tree based on four gene combined analysis add support for 64 of the families and 22 orders,including the novel orders,Dyfrolomycetales,Lichenoconiales,Lichenotheliales,Monoblastiales,Natipusillales,Phaeotrichales and *** paper is expected to provide a working document on Dothideomycetes which can be modified as new data comes to *** is hoped that by illustrating types we provide stimulation and interest so that more work is carried out in this remarkable group of fungi.
