Osteochondral （OC） lesions are characterized by defects in two different zones, the cartilage region and subchondral bone region. These lesions are frequently associated with mechanical instability, as well as osteoarthritic degenerative changes in the knee. The lack of spontaneous healing and the drawbacks of the current treatments have increased the attention from the scientific community to this issue. Different tissue engineering approaches have been attempted using different polymers and different scaffolds＇ processing. However, the current conventional techniques do not allow the full control over scaffold fabrication, and in this type of approaches, the tuning ability is the key to success in tissue regeneration. In this sense, the researchers have placed their efforts in the development of solid free-form （SFF） techniques. These techniques allow tuning different properties at the micro-macro scale, creating scaffolds with appropriate features for OC tissue engineering. In this review, it is discussed the current SFF techniques used in OC tissue engineering and presented their promising results and current challenges.

In vertebrates, the skeletal muscles of the body and their associated stem cells originate from muscle progenitor cells,during development. The specification of the muscles of the trunk, head and limbs, relies on the activity of distinctgenetic hierarchies. The major regulators of trunk and limb muscle specification are the paired-homeobox transcriptionfactors PAX3 and PAX7. Distinct gene regulatory networks drive the formation of the different muscles of thehead. Despite the redeployment of diverse upstream regulators of muscle progenitor differentiation, the commitmenttowards the myogenic fate requires the expression of the early myogenic regulatory factors MYF5, MRF4, MYOD andthe late differentiation marker MYOG. The expression of these genes is activated by muscle progenitors throughoutdevelopment, in several waves of myogenic differentiation, constituting the embryonic, fetal and postnatal phases ofmuscle growth. In order to achieve myogenic cell commitment while maintaining an undifferentiated pool of muscleprogenitors, several signaling pathways regulate the switch between proliferation and differentiation of *** identification of the gene regulatory networks operating during myogenesis is crucial for the development ofin vitro protocols to differentiate pluripotent stem cells into myoblasts required for regenerative medicine.

The Campos Gerais Domain(CGD)in southeastern Brazil is an approximately 180 km×35 km area of Archean–Proterozoic rocks located southwest of the São Francisco Craton(SFC).The Archean–Paleopro terozoic evolution of the CGD—alongside its potential correlation with the SFC or other cratonic blocks in the region-is currently *** present the results of systematic petrography,bulkrock geochemistry,mineral chemistry and geochronology for a suite of scarcely studied mafic–ultramafic rocks from the *** also provide a compilation of previously reported bulk-rock geochemical and spinel group mineral chemical data for mafic–ultramafic rocks throughout the CGD,and geochronological information for various lithotypes in the *** CGD records a protracted Mesoarchean to Statherian(3.1–1.7 Ga)crustal evolution,which we interpret to share a common history with the southern SFC and their related reworked segments,suggesting that it is a westward extension of this cratonic *** metavolcano-sedimentary rocks of the Fortaleza de Minas and Alpinópolis segments represent a Mesoarchean greenstone belt that is stratigraphically and chemically comparable to Archean greenstone belts worldwide,and that is broadly coeval with a local suite of tonalite-trondhjemite-grano diorite(TTG)gneisses and migmatites.U-Pb SHRIMP zircon data from a subalkaline metagabbro yielded a concordia age of ca.2.96 Ga,revealing a previously unrecognized phase of Archean magmatism in the CGD that can be chrono-correlated with metakomatiite and TTG generation elsewhere in the São Francisco *** data contradict a hypothesis whereby the metavolcano-sedimentary rocks of the Jacuí-Bom Jesus da Penha and Petúnia segments represent an ophiolite,as previously suggested,instead presenting features that point to formation in association with a continental *** with a U-Pb(SHRIMP)crystallization age of ca.2.13 Ga recorded by zircon grains from a metaultramafic rock,these data h

This paper assesses the relationship between farmer characteristics and the degree to which nine soil and water conservation practices (SWCPs) are adopted by 300 maize farmers in Techiman Municipality,*** were surveyed for their adoption of nine SWCPs,and 24 other characteristics including demographics,socio-economic factors,risk factors and costs of *** soil and water conservation practices (SWCPs) in sub-Saharan Africa such as Ghana are important because they have positive effects on yield,increase sustainability of farming,stop degradation and reduce soil *** adoption of sustainable soil and water conservation practices in the agricultural industry of Ghana has been *** study aims to explain differences in farmer adoption of SWCPs,by assessing factors that vary with the number of different SWCPs used by ***,the Poisson model was *** results show that farmer's household size,farm size,access to credit services and formal training of maize farmer have a positive significant association with the number of soil and water conservation practices adopted by maize farmers while distance to nearest output market,distance to input center,access to extension services,and risk of pest and diseases have a negative significant association with the number of soil and water conservation practices adopted by maize farmers at 5% significance *** study concludes that any further research in Techiman Municipality on soil and water conservation practices should acknowledge the mixture of personal and demographic,institutional,socio-economic and risk *** suggests that agricultural polities formulated by the government should be aimed at supporting maize farmers to have access to extension service contact for frequent disseminating of agricultural technology information which is likely to increase the rate of adoption of soil and water conservation practices.

We present a bioreactor system which combines a semi permeable membrane that simulates the osmotic nutrients interchange in the small intestine circulation and rhythmic peristaltic *** custom-designed presents a semipermeable membrane bioreactor,with peristaltic flow and compression variation that allows adjustment of luminal flow *** addition,this system is also capable of achieving the drug distribution in the small intestine model from the apical compartment to the basal compartment by the semipermeable *** dynamic bioreactor can mimic the human small intestine with increased accuracy to overcome many of the limitations and accuracy with the previously described in vitro small intestinal models,providing a more representative model of the small intestine.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected all facets of our lives and all ages and social strata *** have been taken to protect against the spread of the virus,such as more rigorous hand hygiene,the use of face masks and social ***,the focus has often been on young people,who have been seen as a group lacking sufficient respect for government-imposed *** review outlines the preventive measures that have been taken in different countries and discusses their specific impact on young people and adolescents,taking into account the developmental stage and concrete needs of this age *** summarizes those studies that have provided information on compliance with preventive measures by young people and adolescents,concluding that although compliance levels among this age group are lower than among older adults,the general view of youths as non-compliant is not consistent with real,objective *** review also summarizes different views regarding the possible reasons for this lower level of compliance,taking into account both social(gender and age)and personal factors(personality,empathy,prosociality,self-control,cognitive styles and motivations),and discusses the practical implications of these findings for the future.
