Developing efficient water-splitting electrocatalysts, particularly for the anodic oxygen evolution reaction （OER）, is an important challenge in energy conversion technologies. In this study, we report the development of iron-doped nickel disulfide nanoarray on Ti mesh （Fe0.1-NiS2 na/Ti） via the sulfidation of its nickel-iron-layered double hydroxide precursor （NiFe-LDH naFFi）. As a three-dimensional OER anode, Fe0.1NiS2 na/Ti exhibits remarkable activity and stability in 1.0 M KOH, with the requirement of a low overpotential of 231 mV to achieve 100 mA·cm^-2. In addition, it exhibits excellent activity and durability in 30 wt.% KOH. Notably, this electrode is also efficient for the cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction under alkaline conditions.

We report a general strategy to develop injectable welded nanofibers to facilitate the outgrowth and extension of *** this case,nonwoven mats of uniaxially aligned poly(caprolactone)(PCL)nanofibers were firstly cut into several small pieces with fixed fiber lengths of 25,50 and 100µm,respectively,using a cryotome.A tissuelyser was employed to homogenize and disperse the short nanofibers to a homogeneous *** tuning treatment duration from 100 s to 400 s,the temperature of the suspension was brought close to the melting point of *** such,the short nanofibers were welded at their cross points while the fibers far away from the cross points remain the original *** showed that the viability of neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells and their neurite outgrowth and extension were enhanced with the use of such welded short *** together,this study provides a simple way to generate injectable welded nanofibers,holding potential in affecting neurite outgrowth and extension for nerve repair,in particular,in the central nervous system.

Background Hypercholesterolemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular events in patients with established atherosclerotic disease (EAD) and in those with multiple risk factors (MRFs). This study aimed to investigate the rate of optimal low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol level in a multicenter registry of patients at high risk for cardiovascular events. Methods A multicenter registry of EAD and MRF patients was conducted. Demographic data,medical history,cardiovascular risk factors,anthropometric data,laboratory data,and medications were recorded and analyzed. We classified patients according to target LDL levels based on recommendation by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2011 into Group 1 which is EAD and diabetes or chronic kidney disease (CKD)–target LDL below 70 mg/dL,and Group 2 which is MRF without diabetes or CKD–target LDL below 100 mg/dL. The rate of optimal LDL level in patients with Group 1 and Group 2 was analyzed and stratified according to the treatment pattern of lipid-lowering medications. Results A total of 3100 patients were included. Of those,51.7% were male. Average age was 65.8 ± 9.7 years. Average LDL level was 96.3 ± 32.6 mg/dL. A vast majority (92.7%) received statin and 9.3% received ezetimibe. Optimal LDL level was achieved in 20.3% of patients in Group 1 (LDL nary artery disease or peripheral artery disease. Conclusions The rates of optimal LDL level were unacceptably low in this study population. As such,a strategy to improve LDL control in high-risk population should be implemented.

There is a remarkable characteristic of photosynthesis in nature, that is, the energy transfer efficiency is close to 100%. Recently, due to the rapid progress made in the experimental techniques, quantum coherent effects have been experimentally demonstrated. Traditionally, the incoherent theories are capable of calculating the energy transfer efficiency, e.g.,(generalized) F?rster theory and modified Redfield theory(MRT). However, in order to describe the quantum coherent effects in photosynthesis, one has to exploit coherent theories, such as hierarchical equation of motion(HEOM), quantum path integral, coherent modified Redfield theory(CMRT), small-polaron quantum master equation, and general Bloch-Redfield theory in addition to the Redfield theory. Here, we summarize the main points of the above approaches,which might be beneficial to the quantum simulation of quantum dynamics of exciton energy transfer(EET) in natural photosynthesis, and shed light on the design of artificial light-harvesting devices.

AIM： TO elucidate the prognostic role and relationship of three molecular markers such as tumor suppressor gene p53, proliferating cell nuclear antigen （PCna） and Ki-67 in gastric stromal tumor. METHODS： A total of 108 surgically resected gastric smooth muscle tumor specimens were collected from January 1987 to December 1999. Immunohistochemical studies were performed on the paraffin sections of 99 of 108 CDl17-positive tumors with antibodies of p53, PCna, and Ki-67. Immunoreactivity of three molecular markers was recorded by labeling index （LI, %） and was analyzed for clinicopathologic and survival correlation. RESULTS： Of the 99 cases, immunostaining revealed that 52 patients （52.5%） had p53, and 37 patients （37.3%） had Ki-67 immunoreactivity （defined as 〉10% of LI）. All patients （100%） had PCna immunoreactivity ranging from 12% to 93% of LI, divided into high or low by median. Statistics revealed that LI of three markers positively correlate to each other （P〈0.01） and to microscopic tumor mitotic counts （P〈0.001）. By combination, patients with ≥2 markers （positive or high） in tumors had early tumor recurrence （P〈0.001） and unfavorable outcome （P〈0.001）. Univariate analysis indicated that patients with tumor size 〉5 cm （P=0.003）, tumor mitosis 〉5/50 HPF （P〈0.001）, p53 immunoreactivity （P=0.001）, Ki-67 immunoreactivity （P=0.026）, high PCna LI （P=0.015） and male gender （P=0.036） were six predictors for early disease recurrence. Subsequent multivariate analysis revealed that mitotic counts, tumor size, and p53 immunoreactivity were three independent prognostic factors for both disease free and overall survival of patients. By combination of three independent prognostic factors for grouping, we found higher tumor recurrence rate （P〈0.001） and shorter survival （P〈0.001） existed in groups with increasing factors. Background: Depressive disorder is often accompanied by physiological changes that may adversely affect the course of medical illness, including an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines. Methods: We examine the effects of religious cognitive behavioral therapy (RCBT) vs. conventional CBT (CCBT) on pro-/anti-inflammatory indicators and stress hormones in 132 individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) and chronic medical illness who were recruited into a multi-site randomized clinical trial. Biomarkers (C-reactive protein and pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, IFN-γ, IL-6, IL-12-p70), anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL1ra, IL-4, IL-10), and stress hormones (urinary cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine) were assessed at baseline, 12 weeks, and 24 weeks. Differential effects of baseline religiosity on treatment response were also examined, along with effects of religiosity on changes in biomarkers over time independent of treatment group. Biomarker levels were log transformed where possible to normalize distributions. Mixed models were used to examine trajectories of change. Results: CRP increased and IL-4, IL-10, and epinephrine decreased over time, mostly in the opposite direction expected (except epinephrine). No significant difference between RCBT and CCBT was found on average trajectory of change in any biomarkers. Religiosity interacted with treatment group in effects on IL-6, such that CCBT was more effective than RCBT in lowering lL-6 in those with low religiosity whereas RCBT appeared to be more effective than CCBT in those with high religiosity. Higher baseline religiosity also tended to predict an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokines INF-γ and IL-12 (p70) and urinary cortisol over time. Conclusions: RCBT and CCBT had similar effects on stress biomarkers. CCBT was more effective in reducing IL-6 levels in those with low religiosity, whereas RCBT tended to be more effective in those with high religiosity. Unexpectedly, higher baseline religiosity w
