Background:Pain associated with cancer is one of the greatest causes of reduced quality of life in *** is one of the treatm.nts used to address this issue,with the great advantage of having little or no side effects,especially when com.ared with pharm.cological ***:The aim.of this system.tic review and m.ta-analysis was to evaluate the current evidence regarding the efficacy of acupuncture for cancer *** strategy:Six electronic databases(Pubm.d,EBSCO,Cochrane Library,Scielo,b-On and Scopus)were searched for relevant articles about pain relief in cancer patients from.their beginning until 2022using m.SH term. such as“acupuncture,”“electroacupuncture,”“ear acupuncture,”“acupuncture analgesia,”“oncological pain,”and“cancer pain.”Inclusion criteria:Studies included were random.zed controlled trials(RCTs)where acupuncture was com.ared with no treatm.nt,placebo acupuncture or usual *** extraction and analysis:Three independent reviewers participated in data extraction and evaluation of risk of bias,and a m.ta-analysis was *** prim.ry outcom. was pain intensity,m.asured with the visual analog scale,num.ric rating scale,or brief pain *** outcom.s also assessed were quality of life,functionality,xerostom.a,pain interference,and analgesic *** were expressed as standardized m.an difference(Sm.)with 95%confidence interval(CI).Results:Sixteen RCTs with a total of 1124 participants were included in the m.ta-analysis,with the m.jority of the studies presenting a low or unclear risk of *** was m.re effective in reducing pain than no treatm.nt(Sm.=–0.90,95%CI[–1.68,–0.12]),sham.acupuncture(Sm.=–1.10,95%CI[–1.59,–0.61])or usual care(Sm.=–1.16,95%CI[–1.38,–0.93]).Conclusion:The results of this study suggest that acupuncture m.y be an effective intervention to reduce pain associated with *** som. lim.tations due to the low quality and sm.ll sam.le size of som. included st

Recent advances in functionally graded additive m.nufacturing(FGAm.technology have enabled the seam.ess hybridization of m.ltiple functionalities in a single *** robotics can becom. one of the largest beneficiaries of these advances,through the design of a facile four-dim.nsional(4D)FGAm.process that can grant an intelligent stim.li-responsive m.chanical functionality to the printed ***,we present a sim.le binder jetting approach for the 4D printing of functionally graded porous m.lti-m.terials(FGm.)by introducing rationally designed graded m.ltiphase feeder *** graded cross-linking agents gradually form.stable porous network structures within aqueous polym.r particles,enabling program.able hygroscopic deform.tion without com.lex m.chanical ***,a system.tic bed design incorporating additional functional agents enables a m.lti-stim.li-responsive and untethered soft robot with stark stim.lus *** biodegradability of the proposed 4D-printed soft robot further ensures the sustainability of our approach,with im.ediate degradation rates of 96.6%within 72 *** proposed 4D printing concept for FGm.s can create new opportunities for intelligent and sustainable additive m.nufacturing in soft robotics.

BACKGROUND The sphericity of the fem.ral head is a m.tric used to evaluate hip pathologies and is associated with the developm.nt of osteoarthritis and fem.ral-acetabular *** To analyze the three-dim.nsional asphericity of the fem.ral head of asym.tom.tic pediatric *** hypothesized that fem.ral head asphericity will vary significantly between m.le and fem.le pediatric hips and increase with age in both *** Com.uted tom.graphy scans were obtained on 158 children and adolescents from.a single institution in the United States(8-18 years;50%m.le)without hip *** fem.ral m.asurem.nts including the fem.ral head diam.ter,fem.ral head volum.,residual volum.,asphericity index,and local diam.ter difference were used to evaluate fem.ral head *** In both sexes,the residual volum. increased by age(Pm.ller fem.ral head size in older ages(>13 years)in fem.les,there were no sex-differences in residual volum. and aspherity *** were no age-related changes in m.an diam.ter difference in both sexes(P=0.07)with no significant sex-differences across different age groups(P=0.06).In contrast,there were significant increases in local aspherity(m.xim.m.diam.ter difference)across whole surface of the fem.ral head and all quadrants except the inferior regions in m.les(P=0.03).There were no sex-differences in m.xim.m.diam.ter difference at any regions and age group(P>0.05).Increased alpha angle was only correlated to increased m.an diam.ter difference across overall surface of the fem.ral head(P=0.024).CONCLUSION There is a substantial localized asphericity in asym.tom.tic hips which increases with age *** 2D m.asured alpha angle can capture overall asphericity of the fem.ral head,it m.y not be sensitive enough to represent regional asphericity patterns.

Size-dependent activity of Fe-N-doped m.soporous carbon nanoparticles towards oxygen reduction reaction

The rational design of Fe–N–C catalysts that possess easily accessible active sites and favorable m.ss transfer,which are usually determ.ned by the structure of catalyst supports,is crucial for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).In this study,an oleic acid-assisted soft-tem.lating approach is developed to synthesize size-controlled nitrogen-doped carbon nanoparticles(ranging from.130 nm.to 60 nm.and 35 nm.respectively)that feature spiral m.sopores on their surface(Sm.s).Next,atom.cally dispersed Fe–Nx sites are fabricated on the size-tunable Sm.s(Fe1/Sm.-x,where x represents the Sm. size)and the size-dependent activity toward ORR is *** is found that the catalytic perform.nce of Fe1/Sm.s is significantly influenced by the size of Sm.s,where the Fe1/Sm.-60 catalyst shows the highest ORR activity with a half-wave potential of 0.90 V *** in KOH electrolyte,indicating that the gas-liquid-solid three-phase interface on the Fe1/Sm.-60 enhances the accessibility of Fe–Nx *** addition,when using Fe1/Sm.-60 as the cathode catalyst in aqueous zinc-air batteries(ZABs),it delivers a higher open-circuit voltage(1.514 V),a greater power density(223 m. cm.(−2)),and a larger specific capacity/energy than Pt/C-based *** results further highlight the potential of Fe1/Sm.60 for practical energy devices associated with ORR and the im.ortance of size-controlled synthesis of Sm.s.
